We had the Chef's Tasting menu which I highly recommend. 6 courses was only $60. We added the wine pairing for $50 and it was totally worth it. The server made amazing selection wine selections that perfectly matched the food. The manager came by several times to fill our water glasses, to clear dishes if necessary and to ask us how are food was tasting. I noticed that he was doing that with every table. It was great to see such teamwork from all the staff and it really brought a positive dining atmosphere. We never had to ask for anything. Everyone completely anticipated our needs.
I highly recommend this restaurant. We shared two salads as appetizers, my son had a pork roast, his girlfriend had a pasta dish (can't remember what it was) I had lamb chops, and my wife had the market fish (sea bass). Everything was deliciously seasoned. Were able to enjoy the dinner in a relaxed setting and have a pleasant conversation for a while after eating - the serving staff did not try to hurry us along in any way. The atmosphere is relaxing although the restaurant seems a bit too dark even at lunchtime. At a later dining time the restaurant was more frenetic but at lunch and at an early dinner time Lupa is very relaxed (although we were given our check without asking for it). However, the food was fabulous. The portions are just the right size, so well seasoned. Delicious. It is a food learning experience where questions about the food are encouraged and there is a glossary on the back of the menu.

Honestly we went because we wanted some nice Italian but mostly to have a talking point with my boss! haha! Turned out to be the absolute best dining experience my boyfriend and I have ever had. Having both been servers in past lives we were stunned at their professionalism and attention to absolutely every detail. Eating in any restaurant ever again will pain our souls. I wouldn't rate a anything 5star just for their service alone. Likewise it must be noted that Lupa is an overall stunner. I will remember the spinach and asparagus salad, the ricotta gnocchi and the hazelnut ice cream FOREVER! Fresh produce is used, and organically grown. Heritage meat. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. If you're a foodie, this is an excellent place to go. I had the special of the day, which was a porterhouse pork chop cooked simply and served with grilled radicchio and asparagus. It was superb. It was sheer ambrosia. For a main I had the chicken seated on a crouton of creamy liver pâté. The meat in the pasta cooked perfectly, small bites were not hard or fatty. The Tartufo dessert was a ball of ice cream glazed with chocolate, clearly homemade sitting on a bed of sauce made of nuts and berries reduced down to a oozing base for the ice cream. My only complaint was that our reservation was at 10:00 pm. I made the reservation 30 days to the day at exactly 10:00 am(when they being taking reservations).. I find it highly unlikely that they couldn't fit 2 people in for a 9:00 reservation. Although I called multiple times to try and switch the time, the answer was always no.

Speaks well of it's popularity because it was Monday night! If you are looking for a great Roman dining experience - go. You will not be disappointed. There are a number of places where my wife and I prefer or don't mind sitting in the Bar area, this is not one of them. Thought along the perimeter of the front room, at least a table away from the traffic aisle, would probably be fine for an intimate dinner for two, certainly that would be difficult along the main aisle. Pours were generous, and of unusual variations on classic Italian grapes that I would not have chosen for myself. A Sangiovese based rose and a Sardinian Moscato-based dessert wine were stand outs.
Our server was charming, unobtrusive and efficient.
