L'unitàThis was the first time IThis was the first time I had been to the restaurant, and I took my girlfriend, expecting a nice quiet romantic spot, and that's exactly what it was. Food was great, cocktails were awesome and the service was excellent. You'll spend money there, but it was worth it.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGem hidden amongst mediocrityDespite the chi-chi reputation of Yorkville, there is a shocking lack of options for good food - lots of mediocre to atrocious restaurants abound, most of them over-charging for the slop they serve up. But L'unita is an exception - excellent food, excellent wine selections, cheery and helpful staff, with prices that are reasonable for anywhere in the city.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMJust as good as the first time! This was my second time at the restaurant - this time there were 5 of us (last time 2). Everything was excellent - wonderful food, excellent service and a really great ambience. My favourite Italian restaurant in the city!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNice to be back!I almost forgot how much fun this place can be! Food is always consistent and menu changes regularly to offer variety through the seasons. The L'Atomica pizza, sweet pea arancini, arctic char crudo and pork chop were amazing. The best part of the dinner was dessert. The doughnuts with mascarpone and caramel were out of this world. Great job again!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMInviting spot with a greatInviting spot with a great vibe the Friday night we were there. Service was friendly and informative. Menu not extensive but really good choices - Tamworth Pork and Short Ribs to perfection. Definitely plan to return!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!Great place for a nice dinner. The restaurant is intimate and has a great menu.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfecto!!!We had such a wonderful meal here. L'unita is a small Italian gem in the Yorkville neighborhood of Toronto. We had the antipasto plate and octopus and chorizo to start, AMAZING!! The antipasto plate was explained in detail down to the crispy pigs ears, we were split 2/2 on the crispy pigs ears. My husband had the Italian sausage pasta, loved it. Step-daughter had the lobster pasta, she didn't share :( Step-daughters boyfriend had a pizza, he seemed to enjoy it. And I had by for the best meal, a Fred Flintstone sized pork chop (bone in), with crispy polenta red pepper, puree and vegetables. A great bottle of wine and fantastic service. We will be back if we are in Toronto again.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently very good.Food was delicious, and half-price wine (for the entire list!) on Tuesdays made this more of a treat than it usually is.
Highly recommend.
Only annoyanvce was that the server clearly thought he was cooler than everyone in the restaurant, but was not by any means. The Rosedale matrons two tables over were cooler than he was...5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTjis is a lovely neighbourhoodTjis is a lovely neighbourhood gem and has wonderful food and service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBut just a bit noisy and hardBut just a bit noisy and hard to hear.
