Food was horrible. This is the third restaurant in this space in two year, clearly they can't find a winning formula. Will never go back. Sangria was watered down and tasted like kool-aid. Food tasted like it was from microwave

I thought this place was great. The food was pretty good though a little pricey I thought overall I got my money's worth. I went on a Saturday night and there was live entertainment, for a while I felt like I was on vacation in the Caribbean, great vibe! The staff were super friendly and helpful, they are new only open 2 months so I think they are really making a effort, I would go again.

Jalyssa welcomed us warmly upon arrival, which set the pleasant tone for our dinner. We tried this restaurant based upon Open Table reviews, and were very pleased. We both had the Bronzino, which Sergio told us could be fileted. Everything was delicious. Service was wonderful, and we enjoyed the sunset as we dined outside.

  • A great new find in Hells Kitchen

We were very excited when Luna Sur opened since their menu listed "Saltado," a South American beef dish that we've been searching for far and wide since first encountering it in a Peruvian restaurant in Port Chester NY. Luna Sur's saltado was perfect, just the way it should be. All their other dishes are very special, authentic and delicious, with vivid South American flavors. Restaurant atmosphere is very pleasant, warm but understated. The service by managers, waiters and buspeople is extremely attentive and they want to make sure you have a good time. The 2 times we've been there they've featured live Cuban music which is wonderful, not too loud and just right. This has jumped right to the top of our list of Hells Kitchen favorites

One of the best dining experiences I've had in NYC. Right upon walking in, the staff was friendly, courteous, and prompt. They got us to our seats and didn't rush any part of the dinner. It was a refreshing change to be able to converse and enjoy dinner without the feeling of being another table waiting to be turned over as quickly as possible. The food was out of this world. For the price I paid for the food my expectations were far surpassed. Anxiously await to revisit this fabulous restaurant in the future!

This seafood restaurant is a great deal - the prices aren't exorbitantly high and the food itself was great. Between the four of us we tried numerous dishes and appetizers (the arancini were great!) and they were all solid. This is not a fancy place, but a good place to gather with a group of friends and share seafood and drinks in a casual setting.

Pier 9 was a stop on a quest to find a few good restaurants in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood our son has moved into. It was good, but not great. The portions were on the small side, but the prices were not. The New England Clam Chowder is worth a return visit, but the Lobster Mac 'n cheese appetizer, Homemade Tagliolini Pasta, Horse Radish Crusted Scottish Salmon, and Risotto Frutti di Mare while all good, were not standouts. The Big Eye Tuna au Poivre suffered from an over-application of chili. If you like spicy dishes, you might enjoy it more than I. The desserts were good, but none of them standouts. Our waiter spent a great deal of time fawning over my wife (maybe twice his age). If I want to see Stefon, I'll watch SNL.

Wanted a restaurant close to the theatre and am so happy to have found this place. From the minute we walked through the doors we were treated like family. The food was outstanding and very generous portions. I recommend the New England Clam Chowder. Generous with the clams and the soup was very good. Would definitely come back to try other offerings off the menu.

Pier 9 is a welcomed-addition to the neighborhood for sure. My husband and I have eaten there several times in the last three months, and we have not been disappointed yet. The staff is friendly and fast. We have had the pleasure of speaking with the chef a couple of times; he is very personable and passionate, which is apparent from his tasty creations. The charred soybeans were a group hit -- cooked just to the right tenderness and tosse in a light sauce that put a unique spin on edamame. The pasta dishes are homemade and interestingly blended. The seafood has always been fresh; my favorite is the horseradish salmon. While this restaurant is great, it is not perfect: sometimes the music can get a bit loud, but not intolerable.

The food was great and reasonably priced. I had the tacos that had just a little too much lime for me. I also had the tuna tartare with watermelon that I was quite delicious. The combination of the two and presentation of the dish was lovely. And for the entree I had their special which was a pasta dish with prime rib. I fell in love with the dish. I regret not finishing it. The staff was attentive. And the ambiance had a nice romantic vibe to it. I will be coming back again.

Overall we had a good experience at Pier 9. We had salads with goat cheese, nuts and berries. All the ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. I had brazzano (mild white fish) which was well-seasoned and delicious. My daughter had a pasta dish that was good to the last bite. There was a good selection of wines and beers. It's very convenient to the theater district -- the reason for our stop that evening.

Have been here many times & enjoyed both Brunch & Dinner. Brunch on Sunday was another story. They lost our reservation but we were seated. The wrong order was brought out, a forgivable error, for which the wait staff apologized. The food was terrible, which is unforgivable. Lobster/chorizo benedict has dry crumbly corn bread bottom, which my wife didn't even eat, topped by an overcooked poached egg. When asked, the waiter said there was a change in chef & they'd pass along got my comments to the kitchen. No plans to return to this or it's sister nextdoor, Restaurant 9.
