  • "Beautiful restaurant and outstanding food! All 4 of us loved our meals."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Check out early dinner. It runs from 5-6:30. It is a 3 course meal. You have three different choices for each course. You can also pair it with wine. The Goat Cheesecake was amazing!"
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We celebrated a Birthday and the Birthday boy was wished Happy Birthday, and there were rose petals on the table for the celebration, in addition a glass of champaigne or desert was offered compliments of the house. The food was very good. We will go back."

  • "We enjoyed Luminaria and the fact that it was walking distance from our hotel La Fonda. The food and service was excellent. Hostess could have been friendlier, but I am not sure she spoke that much English. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and our server was great. Enjoyed the salad and the blackened salmon, the serving was large and in retrospect should have split it with my husband."

  • "A Santa Fe favorite that is consistently great. Spectacular food and service - extremely attentive without hovering."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "I have been to Luminaria on several occasions, with my wife, with friends, and with business associates. Summertime outside and wintertime inside by the fire it has always been an enjoyable experience. The food delights - with something new every time I visit. Service is professional and friendly and the ambiance is conversation friendly and well appointed. My favorite spot!"

  • "We prefer Luminaria when it's warm enough to eat outside, but we were more than happy with the indoor experience! The food was fabulous and the service was great. Don't miss out just because it's cold outside."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "We had a wonderful experience. The staff were very attentive. We sat at the booth in the corner of the dining room. It was a very quiet and intimate place in the restaurant. Our food was very well presented and prepared to perfection. The menu offered many interesting choices. Overall it was an exceptional experience and Luminaria is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe."

  • "We went for Restaurant Week. The food was very good-wine was great. We really enjoyed dinner and the service!"

  • "We dined at Luminaria for the first time and had a wonderful experience. It was restaurant week so there was a pre-fixe menu. The blackened tuna on the menu came with sides and toppings that I either couldn't eat or didn't want, and our server didn't hesitate to offer me a different preparation. The tuna was very tender even though I ordered it rare, and the blackened crust had just enough spice to provide a kick. They took the time to peel the asparagus that accompanied my fish, which not every restaurant does. I didn't taste my husband's steak but I know he enjoyed it. I had the fruit tart for dessert and it was quite large for a dessert at an upscale restaurant. Overall we loved Lumunaria and will return for sure."

  • "The food was really wonderful and prepared in a unique way, and with a lovely presentation. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the appetizers were very tasty and fun. The dining room was very comfortable while still seeming elegant in a relaxed way. The service was very good and attentive. I would highly recommend dining here while in Santa Fe."

  • "Serene with grey walls, Luminaria was the perfect place to enjoy dinner with friends. Service was attentive without being intrusive. (I think Melissa was our waitress' name.) Each appetizer was tasty and we enjoyed them all: mozarella salad, black bean soup, and pulled pork spring roll. My favorite was the spring roll. Between us we also tried all the main courses and all were raved over. Desserts were delicious too, with the double choclate brownie a favorite. Very enjoyable evening."

  • "We have been dining here since the restaurant opened several years ago, lunch and dinner, and it never disappoints. Exceptionally, consistently, good food."
    Dined on 2/25/2014
  • "Outstanding! Friendly, prompt service with excellent prep time and presentation. Came with a really good wine pairing. The portions were perfect and tasty start to finish. We will be regulars!"
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "The room is just intimate enough for an afternoon lunch tryst. Choose a booth if one is available. The Salad Niçoise was outstanding: impeccable, fresh and flavorful components - I wiped up the dressing with some of the tasty bread served to each table. The dessert menu was seductive but it would have been disrespectful to dilute our satisfied palates with something sweet. The service was attentive and friendly. All in all, quite the afternoon delight..."

  • "Dinner and service were very good. However, small, closely spaced tables ment we heard every word from the next table and I assume they heard our conversations. Not a very romantic atmosphere. Price was at the top of any meal I can remember."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Fabulous food, service and ambience BUT there Where 2 children in the next table that were Totally unruly with 2 inept parents. This dramatically Took away from the special occasion. The food however was impeccable and the wait Staff and chef should be applauded."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The outstanding service really made a tasty dinner in a lovely restaurant a night to remember. The wait staff quietly worked as a team, allowing us to fully enjoy every aspect of the dinner. The wine selection was excellent as well."

  • "Juan is generally our waiter as we dine around 5pm. He is always very good, attentive and recommends things. They lit a nice fire and the restaurant decor is nice. They have an early bird 'cena pronto' where you get three courses, and I always get this while my husband gets either the salmon or the filet (if they have it). Last night I had the tortilla soup which starts with a bowl with avocado and things, then they pour the soup over it. Quite nice. Then the salmon is delicious with frizzled onions on top, sitting on the most wonderful risotto. For dessert we had flan, but it was over cooked; still tasted yummy. Very good coffee. We'll be back!"

  • "The rose pedals on the table made for a romantic dining evening. Great place to celebrate a special evening with my love. Service and the food came in at a 10."
    Dined on 2/8/2014
  • "When we arrived and were seated, the waitress offered us a champagne toast or dessert for my husband's special occasion. He chose dessert. We ordered the lobster bisque and a shrimp appetizer--both excellent. While we were waiting the server brought a bread basket with some unique choices--not just dinner rolls. And the chef sent us a taste of one of his sausage appetizers. We ordered a very nice Pinot Grigio for dinner. I chose a shrimp pasta dish, but my husband chose the special of the day, filet Mignon. He likes his meat well done, so the chef butterflied the meat. It was well done and tender--few restaurants ever get this right. We chose the bread pudding with carmel sauce and vanilla ice cream--yummy. We had a lovely evening."

  • "I had notified the restaurant via Open Table that this was a surprise birthday lunch for a friend and asked that they seat the rest of the party prior to our arrival. Everything was perfect, our friends were already seated, our birthday girl was totally surprised, and they added a candle to her dessert. The food and service were superb. We were there in January, but I know in the warmer months their outdoor area is magical. Highly recommended."

  • "The Cena Pronto with the wine pairing is a great value for the food and wine selections for each course. They always have a tasty vegetarian main course option too. The shrimp and chorizo in broth appetizer and the pan roasted Chilean sea bass are AMAZING! Lastly, our server Ruth was top notch and professional as always. Ask for her and you will know for yourself."

  • "Very god food and very good service. In the warm weather, it is great to eat on the patio outside. We ate inside and the restaurant is very attractive"

  • "My husband and I have been coming to Luminaria for years and we always appreciate the warm inviting dining room with its cozy fireplace in the winter or the lively patio during the summer months. We can feel confident that our out of town guests will enjoy a delicious meal with menu choices to excite any palate. You have to try the blue corn muffins!!"

  • "We went form the "early bird" special. Full three course meal. Spectacular meal. At early bird price, best money I have ever spent on a meal. Fabulous"

  • "Best dining experience we have had in a long time. We were celebrating two birthdays. The staff went out of there way to make it a pleasurable experience: a glass of champagne, scattered rose petals on the table, candles on the dessert. Not to mention the scrumptious meal. I had sea bass which was amazing! Definitely spreading the word about this wonderful find in Santa Fe. Can't wait to go back!"
    Dined on 1/12/2014
  • "The server asked if it was a special occasion and when we told them it was my birthday they scattered rose petals all over our table and also treated me to a dessert. They could not have been more attentive...thanks for a wonderful evening."

  • "It's been a few years since we've been to Luminaria and now I'm wondering why. We had a great experience. The food was first class, our servers operated as a well-trained team--always there for us, the chef surprised us not only with a tasting spoon sirloin appetizer, but also two absolutely sinful after-dinner truffles. Overall, a world-class restaurant in a city full of fine dining venues.."

  • "Went to Luminaria for a special dinner with an out-of-town guest. Luminaria continues to be great. I had the beef special and was wowed. My guest had the paella, which paled in comparison. The third in our group had the antelope special, which was also very good. I had the "pearfect" martini, which was also very delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and enhanced our experience without being obtrusive. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Great food and service but a large and very noisy party spoiled our New Year's eve. Other diners we talked to felt the same but the large party spent a lot of money."

  • "My family was all impressed by the food here. Great service, and great wine. Perfect for big groups, with many nice large tables (round & booths)."
    Dined on 12/28/2013
  • "Service was slow and the food mediocre. Not worth the prices charged. The only time the waiter was fast was when giving us the bill. But he never asked if we wanted anything else which we did."
    Dined on 12/29/2013
  • "A taste of the Tortilla Soup makes a visit to Luminaria worthwhile. The soup is excellent and deserves its reputation. The rest of the menu that we have tried is very good. Service was attentive and friendly."

  • "I would highly recommend Luminaria to anyone. Setting was absolutely beatiful for the holiday season. Food and service was outstanding as well. The lobster and crab enchiladas were excellent and others in my family had prime rib, and salmon all were excellent! We couldn't have enjoyed a better meal in such a wonderful location."

  • "This is a lovely hotel and I really want to love the restaurant but they have a problem with cold air blowing into the entire front area. There is a door just at the entrance to the restaurant that is continually opened by people passing through so that cold air blows in on the diners. They have a curtain but there really should be a wall there to block the cold air. Three different groups asked to be moved while we were eating and I ate with my down coat over my lap. The servers were very nice and the food was actually good but the ambiance was lacking. Also there was no special meal on Christmas day which was a disappointment."

  • "We experienced Luminaria for both dinner as well as a part of a walking "cooks tour" of four restaurants put on by the Santa Fe Cooking School. You can do far better at any one of a dozen places in town. The dishes I had (blue corn crepe with duck confit and osso bucco) were way too salty, as though nobody tasted what the kitchen was putting out. On the cooks tour, where the other three places put out great samples of signature dishes, at Luminaria we were treated to puff pastry filled with cheese whiz and a fragment of mushroom. Not really inspiring.. The service was fine and staff was very friendly, but in this city with the greatest concentration of fine dining in North America, you can do far better for the price."

  • "Dinner was excellent. some of us had the fixed price which is a great deal for super food with salad and desert. wait staff is excellent. know the menu and will offer helpful ideas. will rush meal if you need to get somewhere - as we did. Highly recommend Luminaria's especially during the summer when you can sit our on the patio."

  • "Read the good reviews and decided to try for lunch. We live in Santa Fe. It seemed as if someone must not have shown up for work or that something was seriously wrong on Sunday, December 15th. No one greeted us as we walked in; service was very slow; wrong drinks brought; the muffins were so dry that we joked that they must have been made of local sand. There was cacophonous Spanish, including flirtatious laughter, coming from the staff in the kitchen - who managed to move glacially once they emerged to the dining area. I have nothing against Spanish, BTW, but this restaurant's ambiance is supposed to be quiet and sophisticated and it instead sounded like a Cinco de Mayo party at a Chile's."
