As always, Luminaria proves to be a great lunch spot. The patio was lovely and service adequate. Too bad you have taken the wonderful risotto off the lunch menu. It always brought me back, but now, with it off the menu, don’t know I will return as often.

This wonderful restaurant very near the plaza in Santa Fe is in a hotel but our dining experience was superb. I have very poor hearing, so the low noise level made our dinner conversation easy. The dinner selections had variety and our meals were well prepared, pleasingly presented and the service spot on. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.

My wife and I went to dinner and we spent over $100 just on food (the wine, tax, and tip were more). I did expect to pay a bit more and the food was very good but I expected to not pay that much. The Granny Smith Gazpacho was very good. I had the pork and my wife had the scallops - both were excellent. We shared a Peach Shortcake desert, also very good. The service was attentive.

I visited this beautiful restaurant my first night in Santa Fe. Despite some personal restrictions, when I noticed a barrel aged Negroni on the menu, I indulged and was not disappointed - it was excellent. This was followed by Granny Smith apple cold soup. It was neon green, and delightful - fresh and tart, like biting into the best apple you've ever eaten. For dinner, I had one of the evenings specials - a bone-in filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection, and the most flavorful steak I've had in ages. The accompanying potato and green chile ragout is my new favorite comfort food - hot, spicy, and delicious. I will gladly visit again the next time I'm in Santa Fe.

My wife & I stayed at the Inn & Spa at Loretto where the Luminaria is located. Not only is the hotel wonderful, but the Luminaria is great for any meal. Although a bit pricy, the ambience of the outdoor patio is hard to beat on a nice evening. The diner was absolutely magnificant, the service was very good, and a notable wine list recognized by Wine Spectator add to the making of a memorable event.

Food was good but Melissa did not fill my water nor did anyone else as they walked by. They had many opportunities. I would expect better from an expensive restaurant like this. Not pleased. Melissa came by only once to see if the food was ok. Never came back. Chef & Management: why do you allow this to happen?

As locals, we love the outdoor patio in the summertime, and the food is good. The service, however, is another matter. It usually starts out well, but goes downhill quickly. I do not believe it is entirely the fault of the servers, however. Often the restaurant is simply understaffed. Moreover, there seems to be a breakdown in the kitchen with entirely too much time between ordering and firing. If you order more than one course, you are in for an exasperatingly long wait. This has been a problem with this restaurant for years, and I do not understand why they can't fix it. Go to the Coyote Cafe or Geronimo instead, where the food,service...and timing...is first rate!

Perfect place for a catch up brunch with friends. The patio dining, covered but open to the breezes and the view of the park at the Loretto Chapel, is lovely. The Sunday brunch menu has something for everyone: many egg dishes, sandwiches, salads. The bloody marys came with a piece of crispy bacon in them! Of course, it did not stay crispy long, but it was delicious -- the drink was nice and spicy, too. We could not fault anything with our meal. Luminaria continues to be a very good place to dine.

For those of us who have lived in Santa Fe, a restaurant that prices all its entrees over $30 suffers from a New York, Dallas or LA syndrome. Yes, the dishes are artistically plated and the outdoor setting alluring. But this is not a place for locals, except those who have money to burn. Sorry.

The food was fantastic And actually felt like it melted in my mouth. I would definitely recommend the Halibut with lavendar corn pudding, so good. My husband's filet was mignon was so tender and tasty. I cannot describe how delicious all the food was. They have the best blue cornuffins and red chile biscotti's. Dessert did not disappoint and the ambiance was superb. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable which made the overall experience wonderful and memorable.

We were celebrating a special occasion and wanted to try an upscale restaurant with good food, but not a stuffy environment. The patio at Luminarias looked pretty, however it was a chilly evening and we decided to dine inside.I would have preferred to sit at a cozy, romantic booth, and while there were booths open, they seated us at a table near the entrance. This was the only downside to the evening. The service was impeccable and friendly. Both the waitress and the bartender, were professional but not overbearing or snobbish. The food was delicious, and the prices albeit a bit high, were comparable to other elegant hotel restaurants.Overall, for very good food and excellent service,it was a very good experience.Recommend for special occasions.

We had a date night at Luminaria, we hadn't tried it before. The patio is beautiful, it is hidden in the alcove between the chapel and the hotel and it is beautifully decorated. Our server, Aimee was FANTASTIC! She worked with us to find something on the menu that would work for our dietary restrictions. The food was amazing - the salmon tartar was especially yummy. The roasted potatoes, corn, and peppers that came a a side to the bison tenderloin were delicious!

When in Santa Fe... This restaurant is a MUST if you appreciate qualitative food, top rate local ingredients and above all a chef who is one of the best in the area. Wine list will offer a good array of pairings at a price most restaurants in Santa Fe. charge. Aimee and Stephanie were our servers. Servers can make or break a dining experience. Both of these charming ladies are the best.

Luminaria is still one of the most beautiful restaurants we know but, somehow, the quality of the food has gone down. There were three of us. My husband ordered the pork chop and it looked gray and was both tasteless and tough. I had the scallops, probably the best dish among us...the scallops sweet tender, sitting on top of small crab cakes. And our guest had the halibut, which was simply "okay." The food no longer lives up to the very spectacular atmosphere. Still, for a beautiful even, go, sit outside on the patio, and enjoy the ambiance. It's still an excellent lunch spot.

After all the hype I expected more. This restaurant is lovely. We sat outdoors in perfect evening weather and the setting couldn't be beat. However, the service, while very polite and highly skilled, was glacial: it took 20 minutes for my glass of wine to arrive. The food was imaginative and tasty, but my halibut was both overcooked and cold, and my husband's duck dish was also a little overcooked and tough. I don't know what was going on in the kitchen or in the management that night, but it didn't meet expectations.

We celebrated our anniversary dinner at Luminaria and the food was fantastic. We have been coming every year or so and it was much better than last year! The chile rellenos and endive and mache salad were fabulous and used local ingredients. My only suggestion is that you try and make it by 6:30 for the set course meal as its a good price! I think they should offer it later than 6:30 as we have missed it twice. Also try not to be there towards the end of the night. We waited forever for our desert and no waiters were to be found. The manager was very kind and gave us a card for a free item next time we dine. We will definitely be back but this time before 6:3 for the set meal :)
