The food was very nice. Sadly, they'd just taken one thing off the menu (it was a winter menu item) and I'd seen it on their website and was disappointed to miss out, but overall the meal was well prepared and presented, and the service was very pleasant.

Out of towners, we have been here before, and in its prior iteration (Baleen?)...but always a great meal here. Had an early evening $25 prix fixe that was fantastic....even more so by the price. Very good, creative wine list. Our server Jim was excellent, very attentive even on a busy evening. He provided great insights on food and wine....great recos. Excellent "fusion" of SW cuisine w/ other styles...highly creative. Tortilla soup - which sounds pedestrian - is great, not to be missed. Very pleasing space, w/ Loretto Chapel right out the back door. We had heard that Luminaria is now a "top 5" in Santa Fe....deservedly so.

This restaurant is over rated. Food is overpriced. Wicker chairs are uncomfortable. Wine list is ok. 3 scallops for $30+! The paella was watery with no saffron visible for another $34+. Server was unprofessional. Will not return.

The food here was beautiful, I would have loved to have tried the dinner menu but we were only in town long enough for a lunch. I had the Yucatan chicken sandwich, and the chicken was so beautifully tender, with a great blend of flavours - many of which were new to my Australian taste buds, like the chipotle dressing / aioli. I'm going to try to recreate these flavours at home, I bought a south-west cookbook. Also the bread basket was a beautiful change from standard, and introduced me to some new ideas - a biscotti-like sundried tomato with some sort of seed bread, and what I think may have been blue corn muffins, along with some more usual white bread. I loved this food, and the new flavours and textures I experienced +good NM wine.

We were greeted promptly. The wait staff was attentive but not hovering. Our server, Wendy, was fabulous. She was knowledgeable about the restaurant, the special offerings of the day, and generally delightful. We were seated by the fireplace, which added a special touch. The quality of the food was excellent. We chose the Hawaiian whitefish option which was wrapped in a thin and delicate potato crust. The asparagus was perfect. Not the overcooked variety often appearing on plates, but crisp and with good color.

This was our third time at Luminaria in two months. It continues to "wow" us. The ruby trout was over the top: not a flimsy little filet, but a thick, perfectly cooked fish. My friend had the beet salad, and we accused her of wanting to lick the plate! The service is Santa Fe friendly and professional at the same time. And the pumpkin flat bread is worth the trip! Frankly, Luminaria is well on its way to surpassing Geronimo.

We had lunch on Sunday afternoon and sat inside rather than on the patio. I believe they were preparing to change from lunch to dinner and would have had to set a place on the patio for us. The restaurant is very nice and probably excellent at night with the lighted candles surrounding the room. Service was excellent and the food was very good. I would recommend Luminaria to friends.

Because this restaurant is located in a hotel you might think it could never meet the standards set by the best of the best among Santa Fe restaurants. You would be very wrong if you thought this way. Everything about this restaurant is of the highest quality and it should rank among the best in the city. The setting is lovely, the menu is very accessible, and the food is excellent. You will not go wrong by spending an evening in this restaurant.

During this year's trip to Santa Fe we twice ate at Luminaria. No complaints about dinner, although the service slowed toward the end of the meal. The second time was brunch on Sunday -- an altogether different experience. The food showed indifference to quality (grissly beef in the quesadilla) and the service was lazy and neglectful. It took forever to clear tables for customers with reservations, even though the place was not especially busy and there was plenty of staff. Just poor management, I suspect. It is always sad to see a once very dependable restaurant begin to falter.

Luminaria has put dining at Hotel Loretto back on the map. The mushroom ravioli was fantastic, with local veggies in a hearty sauce. My husband ordered the salmon two evenings in a row. It is very unusual for us to return to the same restaurant two nights in a row, given all the great dining in Santa Fe. But the service, atmosphere, and lovely patio...as well as the incredible food...will bring us back many times in the future.

Of the many many restaurants I have eaten at, I have never been more disappointed than at Luminaria. The restaurant was quite nice and the service was quite good. Everyone was friendly and attentive. To celebrate their one year anniversary, they had a special prix fixe meal with many choices for only $23 -- a steal at such a nice restaurant. Combine the ambiance, service and price and you have the makings of a perfect evening. Unfortunately, the food was quite poor. My wife and I did not finish a single item. This is one restaurant that we will not be going back to.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a fabulous meal in a wonderful location. The maitre d' gave us the most scenic table and placed rose petals on our table in honor of our anniversary. Our server, Samantha, was terrific and our meal was delicious from their award winning chicken tortilla soup to the complimentary truffles served with the check. The ambiance in a covered patio with blowing curtains overlooking a beautiful courtyard with kinetic art was elevated by the sound of the chuch bells from the adjacent Loretto Chapel. We can't wait to return to Santa Fe and Luminaria.

Great outdoor patio, warm comfortable ambiance - definitely not your typical hotel restaurant. Outstanding torilla soup, and inventive flavors throughout the menu, even including the biscotti in the bread basket. Good service - though there were some hiccups, the manager personally picked up the slack with a great attitude. For anyone visiting Santa Fe, would recommend giving Lumineria a try.
