TheI loved the the food. The Beet Salad is delicious! Hands down Luma had the best service I have ever experienced. I was blown away by the knowledge the servers had about the menu. Not only that but they genuinely seemed to love the food and got excited talking about it. One of my friends did not like her main, it was just a personal taste preference and not any fault of the restaurant. The manager and the server noticed she did not eat a lot of her main dish and insisted they take her meal off the bill even though she thought that unfair to them because the food was great, just not for her palette. The service is unbeatable, the food is always spectacular and the ambience is perfect. Our waitress even listened intently to the birthday girl about what she "might" order for dessert and brought it over as a surprise.

Price was appropriate.

I can truly say, that from start to finish our dinner experience was sensational. From the great whisky cocktail selesction (American in Paris is a must), to the delicious apps (calamari/romaine salad-both fantastic), to our mains (steak frites/yellowfin tuna-both made our mouths water), & desert. The meal was the perfect way to cap off our day in TO. Well done Luma. We were there for an anniversary dinner and were greeted with complimentary champagne and a "Happy Anniversary" message in chocolate on our dessert. Although the dining area is quite large we found it was relatively quiet even when the room began to fill.
The waitress was knowledgeable and attentive.
We had the tuna and calamari to start and both were good portions and very tasty. We had the Muskox and lamb for main. The Muskox was as tender as butter and both dishes were ver flavourful. A pumpkin tart finished the meal off nicely.
There are many varied wines on the list as well as a number of independents.

The service was great and we spent longer than we intended because our meals were so good we decided to try the desserts. The host saw that we were finished and came over immediately to take our money as our server was busy on the other side of the restaurant. PLUS I was offered a half glass of wine when I hesitated getting another full glass. We went there at 5:00 for a 7:00 show and made it in perfect time, although getting our bill at the end was a little slow for some odd reason. I think it was the large party that came in after us. Our water glasses were always refilled at just the right moment. The best surprise for us was receiving a complimentary flute of Prosecco (each) to raise a toast in honor of our special occasion. What a nice gesture it was from Luma! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, including the tuna appetizer, the jalapeno soup, and the steak-frites, and arctic char main courses. We're two 50+ suburbanites, joining my high flying nephew on business from Europe. There was great space and airiness in the restaurant so immediately relaxed into the dining experience. Extremely flavourful food right down to the coffee. The service was a bit slow but we didn't mind at all (I didn't notice for about half an hour!) as we had drinks and bread and were busy talking but this is why I felt I had to drop a star.
The food was excellent and the waiter was very good. It wasn't that busy either so not sure why it was slow - perhaps they could see we were happy anyway.
