Diner Reviews
  • "We really enjoyed our dining experience here. The server was wonderfully knowledgeable about the menu and wines. The food is creative, fresh, and delicious. The ceviche was especially notable."

  • "The menu is limited. Our raviolis were cold and with insuffivient pesto sauce, which by the way, was too thick. The imported wine selection was poor and limited as was the selection of California."

  • "My wife and I are from North Miami Beach Florida. My friend from Tampa recommended this place because it was my wife's 40th birthday so it was a very special occasion. We were completely shocked how upscale, polished and amazing the atmosphere was, the food was great, the service staff made the restaurant. We will be back again the next time we're visiting my mother in Sanford Florida. I would travel from Orlando to go to this restaurant. My friend in Tampa is a restaurant expert and he was right this place was a diamond."

  • "Good food and service but seated too close to others = no fun listening to other people talk."

  • "The food was fabulous. My wife had a vegetable plate, she said it was very flavorful. I had the mahi, fish cooked just right. Succotash was delicious, great as a summertime dish. Juan did a nice job as server."

  • "Don't be afraid to try something new. Four of us had a fabulous time experimenting and enjoying.. from fried oysters and ahi tuna to bolognese and gnocchi. Delicious. Our server was attentive, made great suggestions and well-informed. Upbeat, energetic atmosphere, but you can still carry on a conversation."

  • "I was really disappointed in the menu options. We went on a Friday night, half of the tables were empty and they still made us wait for an hour (we were early). The menu was not impressive and food was just okay. Really sad, because the place is very nice, but you cant taste the ambiance."

  • "We were celebrating our 17th year Anniversary. Have known about Luma for quite sometime and never took the opportunity to go. Wish I would have gone sooner. Our server was awesome and also made our Anniversary that much more special with surprising us with champagne. He was also very educated with the wine list and hit it right on. Will be going back for sure!"

  • " Although I really liked the atmosphere and the vibrant environment of this restaurant, I was not impressed with the food. Even though I specifically indicated that I did not like red in my steak and requested medium-well, the blood was running onto my plate when I cut it. I did not want to send it back to be cooked longer since it was going to interrupt our dinner but then I really couldn't eat raw steak. Interestingly enough the lady sitting next to our table had to send her food back as well. Although our dinner was interrupted and delayed it was still a good evening."

  • "I've been to Luma on Park several times, this time with a food writer. He was very happy with his choice, even though it was just a hamburger! I had the chicken salad, which was delicious. And the cookie plate for dessert. All great!"

  • "Been here several times and used to love it. I really not a fan of the menu but that's not why I didn't like my food. So we went back last night for Father Day dinner, without any kids, and the food really was average. Ordered the Delmanico steak with was average, decent but it's hard to screw up a steak. My wife orders the pork tenderloin and I was chewy, chewy. Couldn't cut it so we sent it back and again it was chewy. Staff was so so concerned about it and we were at a 2 top with 0 privacy next to 2 other couples on either side. Didn't feel comfortable talking about it in front of strangers plus my Wife and I were on a rare, rare date night and we just wanted to chill and have fun. Didn't even want dessert. Won't be back soon. Too bad"

  • "We enjoyed another wonderful dinner at Luma last night. The food is consistently good, of high quality and nice size portions. The soft shell crabs were fantastic- meaty and sweet but with a nice spice in the batter that was complimented by the squash on the side. The new flank steak preparation was outstanding and a really nice mix of favors. And of course the fish was perfectly prepared. All in all another great meal at Luma which is why we always go back."

  • "If you go to Winter Park... you've got to go to Luma. Ive tried many places around, but keep going back to Luma. It is the attention to details. Food... Service... Wine. The whole thing. I love going out to dinner, and have visited many 5 star restaurants around the world. Luma has it all. Trust me. It is a little loud. Hey... it is packed. But if you dont mind loud restaurants... go for it. You are going to love it as much as I do."

  • "Dinner was delicious as usual, with the timing just right for conversation. The pastry chef seems to be cooking in place, however. The last two times we've been in, nothing leapt off the desert menu, and the choices we picked were less than impressive. Considering how artistic and tasty dessert usually is, it was surprising to get the almond pot de creme and find that it'd clearly been in the fridge before we ordered it-- the chocolate disc on top was hard as a rock. Dessert is the last opportunity to impress a diner; this didn't. Also: they've removed the draperies from the columns in the dining room and painted them a shiny blue (why not matte?) that matches the servers' shirts. This made the room much much louder as the night went on."

  • "I'v been going to Luma since they opened about 9 years ago. The food is inventive, different, visuablly appealing and most of all delicious.... The service is professional but friendly you always feel like one of the family. Great location on the corner of Park Ave and New England it is and will always be one of the best places to dine in Orlando and definitely the BEST in Winter Park!"

  • "I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Luma. I went here for my birthday and absolutely loved it. One recommendation is the spacing of the tables need to improved. We were seating so close to the table next to us and as we wanted to celebrate they were having a romantic dinner. "

  • "I was able to be there on time before their kitchen stopped serving lunch (1500), I'm glad they called to inform me with that, although it was a bit late when they did! It was nice, I enjoyed my time there, but perhaps that has to do with the company I had! "

  • "First time at Luma. We would give it 5 stars but for one thing that I will get to. First the good stuff: the food and the eclectic and creative menu are terrific. We had Black Grouper and the Flank steak. Bothe entrees were perfect and delicious. I also had a cerviche 'small plate', simply the best cerviche I've ever had. Our waiter, Sebastian, was friendly and attentive. On a busy Saturday night, our service was a solid 5-star. The restaurant is inviting and we liked the open kitchen. The noise level is moderate. Now for the only flaw - the tables along the wall, primarily 2-tops, are simply too close together and this arrangement is a little off-putting, especially if like we were, you a celebrating a special event (anniversary). "

  • "We dined at Luma for my husband's 40th birthday lunch with a group of 8. We had outstanding service and a delicious meal...we all belonged to the clean plate club. A special thanks to the server and kitchen staff who made a great meal for our son who has food allergies. THANK YOU! "

  • "Generally speaking Luma has been a very good restaurant and the food has been consistently good. I was disappointed when viewing the selections for Mothers' Day. It just didn't seem that a burger, pizza and chicken sandwich were appropriate for a special occasion honoring mothers. On a positive note, the servers were superb and the wine selection excellent. I will have to reevaluate Luma's for special occasions in light of my experience on Sunday. "

  • "Luma's always provides a memorable culinary experience. Regional and seasonal ingredients are prepared with great imagination and skill. Each dish is a symphony of flavors and textures. The wine list is filled with can't miss choices. Happily, the service is on par with the food and drink. Luma's is our go-to place for almost all of our truly special occasions - it is the gold standard."

  • "We have been coming to Luma since we moved to Winter Park in 2011, it was the first restaurant we visited. We keep coming back, not only for the great food, wine and ambiance but also the friendly, knowledgeable staff who really know their stuff! "

  • "This was our first time dining at Luma. We were celebrating a special occasion. Our table was at the center of the restaurant. Great spot. All four of us had a fabulous meal. Although the menu choices were not extensive, the selections were inventive, well-prepared and delicious. Wine list has a great selection of wines by the glass in all price ranges. The restaurant, however is extremely noisy. I could barely speak with my friend sitting diagonally from me. In addition, our waiter, who was very nice, mumbled. He was difficult to hear over the noise of the restaurant which made our experience with his service kind of tough. Food was phenomenal!"

  • "Not from the area, we were staying 30 miles away but Luma was recommended to us for our anniversary. It was totally worth the trip. Amazing food and the service was simply outstanding. Upon finding out it was our 10th anniversary, our waiter went over and above to make our meal even more special. The food was fresh and creative. Food combinations showed the thought that went in to each dish - the chef obviously considered flavor and texture with all dishes. Great decor as well. A place to return to if ever in FL again. "

  • "The food is unique and outstanding with creative twists on on known dishes. The portions are right sized ... Neither too large or small. The servers appear to be a bit over taxed."

  • "My wife, 12-year old son and I attended Easter Brunch at LUMA and had an absolutely wonderful experience. We have tried several other Winter Park restaurants for Easter brunch over the years and have had quite negative experiences - rushed service, frustrated/angry servers, limited food choices, loud/obnoxious patrons, etc. LUMA was perfect for us. A wide range of choices breakfast/small plates/large plates - excellent choice of unique drinks (not simply mimosas), and service that was relaxed and attentive. A quietly eclectic playlist and an active but not overwhelming noise level complemented the decor. Well done, LUMA. We will be back. "
