"I came in for lunch. To be fair, it was mid afternoon and probably in a service transition. The bartender was doubling as waitstaff. Service was slow and clumsy. On a good note, the iron skillet mussels were nicely done and the burrata tomato salad was absolutely delicious - one of the better I've ever had. This is a good, solid SF restaurant and you can't beat it when looking for wood roasted meats and flatbreads."

"We went to Lulu on Easter Sunday evening. What a pleasant surprise! Our server Mark was excellent, knowlegeable and attentive. The hostess suggested the mussel appetizer and it arrived sizzling on a skillet. Delicious. Our anitpasti "pick 3" was also great. A pate, a beet salad and bruschetta. And then we split the wild mushroom pizza. All meals are served family style, which makes this restaurant very unique. Our dessert (shared) was tasty as well. Overall, a great experience. Truly a hidden gem just off the beaten path."

"Took a few friends from the UK here on this visit. Food was great, the atmosphere is always nice. They enjoyed it and we did as well. We have been here about ten times and have never been let down. LuLu is a solid choice for a nice comfortable dinner with friends."

"Reservation for 2:30pm with out of town guests was quite embarrassing. The usual menu was not even available converting Lulu's into a pizzeria. A restaurant pf that class should not accept reservations whne they have no kitchen open."

"This used to be a place I would bring people to impress them. Now it's very average. Not one dish sang. The pizza was soggy, underdone,almost like it came from the freezer at the store. The only dish that was good was the mushroom soup. Don't know if I'll go back."

"Overall the food was good. Whst got me was the service. We were bombarded with attentiveness when we arrived and weren't ready to order and no ine mentioned specials or provided any helpful suggestions which i would expect given that were only the second other group in the restaurant. Once we were ready to order it took ten minutes until a waiter came back. And the remainder of the evening was the same. Slow and inattentive which was disappointing. I loved the wood fired oven and the food but the service killed the experience."

"We are out-of-towners who ate at Lulu's on the 24 of March and went back on the 30th it was so great! Highly recommend the ravioli and the bread pudding. Excellent welcoming service, fantastic food, and great wine."
