Diner Reviews
  • "Food was well-prepared, and service good but portions were very skimpy for the relatively high price of the dishes."
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "The service was awful!! The food was overrated and portions small."

  • "We've been fans of Luke's Seasonal Italian for years. The food always lives up to expectations! And as the menu changes with the seasons, it's always fun to see and try what's new, while finding popular mainstays always available. Just remember to bring your favorite champagne and wine to complement your dinner."

  • "Luke is a great guy and great chef. The standout new item was the beet arancini which was even better than the normal arancini. All great."

  • "Before going here I checked the reviews. The common thread was the high noise level and the plastic uncomfortable chairs. I thought "how noisy can it be and how bad can the chairs be? The noise level is high but tolerable. The chairs are a joke. For a high end place to have uncomfortable plastic chairs makes no sense at all, especially when so many people comment on it. My daughter returned home from a year abroad and she had her new boyfriend so I wanted some place special. It was a very special evening and we all had a great time. The food for everyone else was excellent. My seafood sampler was ordinary at best. I had a soft shell crab a week ago at another restaurant not far from this and it was far superior."

  • "Loved the food at this restaurant on the mainland. We had a party of 6 and we all enjoyed our food. They were very good with the specifics that we ordered with."

  • "Multiple visits have never failed to impress all of our gourmet friends. With BYOB, an outstanding and yet economical dinner. Our waitress was not only very professional but was very knowledgable about all the preparations."

  • "I have dined at all of Luke Palladino's restaurant except the steak restaurat The original was the best. This was an OK experience but no need to rush back. I had the baby back ribs. This was better left for a rib restaurant. Choices were limited overall."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "The food was excellent! We split the gnocchi as an appetizer. Delicious light puffs. My husband had the ribs, which were definitely worth ordering again. We did not expect to order ribs at an Italian restaurant, but these were terrific baby backs. The whole fish was also wonderful, and they will filet the fish upon request. Service was excellent and very attentive. The only downside, as others have mentioned, are the plastic chairs. Perhaps they don't want diners to linger. Request a booth, at least those seats are padded!"

  • "Great in every aspect. Can't wait to go back! Food was excellent, try the squash blossom app. BYO keeps price very reasonable for this quality of food and service."

  • "I dined with my wife and another couple Sat night. I previously ate at this restaurant when it was in Northfield. I like the space at the newer location. Bigger and nicer ambience and a nicer shopping center. Food is excellent and thoroughly enjoyed it. We all did the Chef's tasting menu and it was well worth it. We brought good wine and it really enhanced the meal and experience. Hope to get back soon."

  • "Went to Luke pallidino's for dinner with friends. The food was disappointing I had gone to the Luke pallidino's near sera go Roberts and liked it a lot. I heard this one was good. It was very pricey and the food was very fair. The reputation of these restaurants had been fair since they opened. But this season it had changed, people said. That was not our experience"

  • "We had eaten at Luke Palladino 2 years ago in original location in Northfield. We eagerly anticipated a return visit at new location when we were in the area again at Marriott Fairway Villas. The decor is modern and low key and the service excellent. The space is much larger and the tables well spaced for conversation. The food was good, very good in some cases, not exceptional. The squash blossoms were very tasty and unusual. The pasta I had, frazilito had too much pesto and was just average. My salad was similarly good, but uninspired. It should be noted that I am a vegetarian and the choices were limited. My husband had the mixed grill (seafood) & said it was very good. Overall an above average BYO!"

  • "One of the best Italian restaurants around - simple food done extraordinarily well. The gnocchi preparation is always worth sharing and the braciole is fab as are the ribs - so tender there is no need for a knife. New summer cool gazpacho hit the hot spot. Baked squash blossoms - get them while they're here. Summer menu is worth a few visits to try everything!"

  • "Wonderful as usual. Had the six course tasting menu… Perfect in every way."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "Intriguing, fresh and cleverly prepared, the menu choices are delightful. We have never had a dish that was merely good, they've all been top-notch. We've been here many times, enjoyed ourselves and departed feeling that the experience was wonderful."

  • "We liked the onion marmalade with the bread. The mushroom crepe was delicious. The clams were too salty and the pork belly in them might as well have been bacon. The octopus salad was all right. The zucchini flowers were tempura fried and bland. The gnocchi were light but the sauce tasted like grass. The rooster-shaped pasta was ok - in a chipotle-ish ragu with beef bits. The seafood combo was pretty bad - bland, besides the oysters, & colorless. The zucchini seemed fried. It and the fish, clams and oysters, dusted in breadcrumbs. The salmon dish was okay but did not flake like it should. Chicken under a brick may have been the best entree on the table but wasn't anything special. The ribs were tasty but they should fall off the bone."

  • "We have tried other restaurants during our vacation, but this is the best. I won't bother with another restaurant. Excellent food and service."
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "We had gnocchi's, which they are noted for, and they were the lightest and most tender we have ever had. We will be going back in the very near future."

  • "LP does it again! Wonderful in all respects. BYOB to boot! Could not have been better. Interesting menu. Hard surfaces make the place noisy. Very very good, will definitely be coming back!"

  • "Simply delicious. We had the halibut special and it was perfectly prepared with olives, peppernade, fingerling potatoes. Reservation honored with table waiting. They could use a few more waiters. Our waiter was very good, but he had lots of tables and not quite as attentive as we would have liked Will return soon and often ."

  • "The appetizers were fabulous as was a pasta dish. However the branzino was bland; the delicate fish seemed overpowered by the broth in which it was served. The Sicilian Grill dish was fried but tasty. The plastic chairs are slippery and uncomfortable. If we return, we'll stick to apps and pasta dishes."

  • "The selections on Palladino's seasonal menu are fantastic! Well worth the trip to Linwood. Great location, great service, great food, and best of all...BYOB. Enjoy!"

  • "Fabulous, innovative menu based on the best of locally available ingredients. The zucchini blossoms are heavenly. Amazing, Luke has been cooking in the kitchen every time we have been there!"

  • "We had asparagus 2 ways, mushroom crespelle for apps, beef ragu pasta, salmon special & kobe brasciole. Everything was perfect & including the very well paced service."

  • "We really looked forward to eating here since we have been frequent diners at his previous Northfield location. This is a different experience, not in a good way. Dark, very noisy, with average service at best. Three of us had caesar salad; we needed to ask our staff for pepper, which was only offered to one person before the waiter walked away. My octopus was a small portion resting on a bed of wilted lettuce. Our entrees were the biggest disappointment. Three of us ordered the whole chicken, an oxymoron at best. The bird was canary sized, all skin and bones with virtually no breast meat. Swiss chard side dish was overcooked and greasy. My friend's scallops were uninspired. We went home to eat dinner."

  • "My wife and I had a great dinner this Saturday night. The food was beautifully presented, portions were just right and everything was cooked to perfection. My wife has several food allergies and the chef and our waitress (his sister) were simply great. The chef came out to check on her as well. I highly recommend the restaurant. "

  • "We had another amazing dining experience at Luke Palladino's. The new location is lovely. We started by sharing the mushroom crespelle and calamari, which were delicious. Three of us ordered the squid ink pasta with soft shell crab special - SO good! The fourth person had lamb chops milanese from the menu and he loved it. Service was great. And its BYOB. This is our favorite restaurant at the shore. "

  • "I have been to Luke's in the other location. This is our first visit since the move. The decor is so nice with a warm feeling and the food is just fantastic. We were six for dinner and absolutely everything was so good. Definitely try a pasta dish as it is all home made. "

  • "From beginning to end, the food was outstanding! Diverse and interesting menu - so many choices! The food prep, presentation and ultimate taste were all memorable! Looking forward to a return visit soon!"

  • "First time here and we all enjoyed. The service was warm and very knowledgeable. Janine was great. Love that it's a byo. Was a little disappointed that the scallops were deep fried , we weren't expecting that, but I really enjoyed the apps and yummy pasta! Also loved our table , a very impressive large wood table. Was perfect for us. Thanks for a great night out! "

  • "Outstanding! We've had the pleasure to dine at all of Chef Palladino's restaurants, and as usual, loved our meal. It was our 38th wedding anniversary and decided to head to the shore for the weekend. We picked this restaurant for dinner, specifically because it never disappoints. The meal was wonderful, the decor of this location is comfortable and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a lovely and memorable meal. (Special thanks to Gia, our waitress. She was pleasant and attentive, which added to our dining experience.)"

  • "We went for mother's day brunch, and the food was top notch. My wife is breastfeeding our daughter and has a soy and dairy allergy, so Luke personally came out and went over the menu with her, which was very nice. "

  • " Went for our anniversary, excellent service, food was delicious. I ordered the artichoke and tomato with Gnocchi. It was delicious . Took a picture of it and sent it to my son who lives in Fort Lauderdale, he is coming this summer and wants to come. I will being bringing my whole family for my Birthday in July and will definitely be there before then. Great spot, great food and great atmosphere."

  • "Bad experience here at Luke Palladino - Seasonal Italian Cooking in Linwood on Saturday night. Had the tile fish and partner had scallops. Both were prepared poorly - Tile fish was bland - almost tasteless....and scallops were also poorly prepared in a batter and not sweet or tender ...taste like Mrs Paul's frozen food. I have had better food at a diner. Glad we bought our own wine ...at least that was good. The couple next to us also were disappointed - they had a seared combo dish they shared for $62.00 and they too were not impressed. I will never go again to this expensive and very over rated establishment"

  • "The artichoke soup was light and creamy. The bread sticks with truffle butter and wrapped with proscuitto were tasty, however, improve with fresh baked bread sticks instead of cracker type at $12 for four. The Easter pie filled with creamy ricotta, spinach and hard boiled eggs was excellent. The grilled branzino was moist and tender with a crispy skin. The candy wrapper pasta with beet puree filling in a butter poppy seed sauce was very good. I would have preferred the poppy seeds roasted and crushed to bring out their nutty flavor in the sauce. The Italian cookies included my favorite, an almond meringue with lemon zest. We were happy to see LP working in the kitchen and taking the time to greet his regular customers. "
