Diner Reviews
  • "The food, service and location is wonderful. I love the open kitchen and being able to watch and vidit with the chefs. The staff is truly professional and well informed with the menu and wine list. I truly enjoyed our evening at Ludivine."

  • "What is really unique about this restaurant is that the menu is small and generally all local products. Plus added bonus is the diner can view the kitchen. We had a great time with our friends. Our server Lacey was outstanding. We will return."

  • "meat cuts were way, way too salty first helping of bread was skimpy, second helping never arrived. could not taste the lemon in the lemon curd bignets. too greasy and not cooked thru."

  • "I can't say enough great things about this place. The food is always incredible and the service amazing. It's hard to make food recommendations because the menu changes daily, but if the menu involves a tartine, bone marrow, or sweet breads, you cannot go wrong."

  • "Ludevine's chefs are very creative. On Friday, the chefs were previewing items for a new location opening soon. We loved all but one. My favorite was the reinvention of Salisbury Steak, which all at our table remembered as something from our childhood which we did not want to eat. The pork belly dish was also outstanding. The wine list is not super extensive, but is one of the best constructed lists I have seen in this area. Service was great, especially under the conditions with the street festival (last Friday of each month) outside. The festival atmosphere was electric, but made a special challenge for the wait and bar staff, who handled it extremely well. I can't wait to go back to Ludevine and try different wines and dishes!"

  • "Really exceptional. I've checked the menu almost every day since I went with my wife. We will be back! As an aside, I find the entree prices to be a bargain for the care and thought put into them. Really lovely stuff."

  • "I'm a vegetarian and I've never had butter lettuce. The creme de la creme of the lettuce species!! That salad was amazing... the acorn squash soup was great... I would have liked my fish cooked bit longer, but my husband swears I dry out fish when I cook it. But the best part, the chef made a special veggie fettuccine in butter sauce with homemade pasta for me that wasn't even on the menu. *heaven* Overall, it was a fun night with wonderful food and nice employees."

  • "First, the food was excellent here. The menu was a bit sparse, and could have used at least one "plain" menu item, and one vegan item, that would have accommodated one of my party of four. I had the grouper and it was excellent. Here's the shocking problem. We dropped over $200 in food and wine, a party of four, and at the end of the meal, after paying our bill, we were still chatting at the table and the waiter comes over and says, "I'm sorry, but the next reservation is due here in ten minutes." I have never, ever, in all my dining experiences had this happen. Our party was shocked, we were just discussing whether to go to the back bar part for some drinks, but now, we were being shooed out! Better reservation scheduling needed."

  • "We were celebrating my wife's 50th birthday. The braised beef/gara spoon pudding was outstanding. My wife's steak was flavorful, though my rabbit pasta was a little too salty. The coffee port mouse was addictively good. Definitely going back to try what will be new next on the menu."

  • "Absolutely superb service. Wonderful local flavor. More than a bit noisy when a large group arrived. The waiter was very helpful in pairing wine with our meal. Fantastic."

  • "A beacon of sophistication and pride in local cuisine."

  • "The new farm to table cuisine is excellent and a welcome addition to the OKC dining scene but at the end of the meal, my friend and I were asked to move to the bar for desert (which the restaurant would pay for) because a large party had arrived and they needed the table. The restaurant did not appear to be busy and there were several tables available in the back bar area. I've never been asked to move to another table for desert in all of my years dining out. It was a great dining experience until that point. We skipped desert, asked for the check and left."

  • "My wife and I were first time visitors last Saturday. This is an excellent place to eat. The service was excellent and the food just blew me away. My wife and I shared the bone marrow (off the charts) and then she had the Foie gras with the blueberry compote and I had the Gnocchi. She loved here foie gras! This was some of the very best Gnocchi I have ever had. The presentation was balanced and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The Estella Damm Beer was very, very good with the meal. Our desserts (bread pudding and the cookie with the ice cream) were absolutley YUMMY. Going to tell my friends and we will definitely be back."

  • "I have heard high praise for Ludivine from friends and peers, so when the opportunity finally came about to dine there, we took it. My girlfriend and I were both very pleased with the service, atmosphere and food. Our server, Ben, took very good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Eric, the front of house manager, also took the time to come by and say hello. We will definitely come back when we are in town and have the time to dine."

  • "I love this place. Everything was amazing and you can tell there is a lot of pride and love put into the whole experience."

  • "Pros: an urban look and feel that works very well for its area of town; extensive drink list with local beer; chef's bar is a great concept where to watch the kitchen at work. Service was great. Cons: only four hot entrees on the menu and on each, it was as if they were trying just a bit too hard to make them into something "worthy" of a farm-to-table restaurant; pasta was high average. Fried green tomatoes were very good but breading was too thick--more appropriate for fried mushrooms or zucchini at a bar than for tomatoes at a nice restaurant. Too much attention on being organic and diverse, not enough on good taste. Sum it up: everything was fresh, the atmosphere and service were great, but I left a little disappointed in the food."

  • "Our first experience was amazing, the second didn't let us down. The only issue we had, which was easily remedied, was that an older gentleman didn't feel the need to pull his chair in and caused a tight squeeze between himself and our (middle) table. Otherwise, the food was amazing (Bison and fish entrees) and the White Old Fashioned were the selections I'd recommend. We will definitely be returning!"

  • "My wife and I eat out frequently and Ludivine is the BEST! We eat here often and every time we come here it just gets better and better. This time we had an amazing "Dinner for Two." It is a great way for a couple to have a very unique/outstanding experience. And the Bar... the wine list is is beautiful and the cocktails are delicious. The bar is super eclectic and they serve a late night menu all night on the weekend. Great Touch!"

  • "The Ludivine is known for it's different and ever changing menu. I had the Bison tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly and, while it is Bison, which is very lean meat, it was very tender and juicy. Cooked perfectly medium rare. It came with a sort of mushroom bread pudding and some type of sunflower seed puree that were both very tasty. I also had the bread pudding for, which was also excellent! I would certainly recommend Ludivine to friends and family."

  • "Delicious starter plate of seared foie gras followed by beef short ribs. Excellent cocktail and delightful service. We had a reservation and were seated right away. It's a little loud and not very intimate, for a special evening I would request a seat the kitchen bar."

  • "My wife had the boneless beef ribs and I had the Cod hake, both were excellent and perfectly cooked. A wonderful appetizer along with a nice beer (for me) and a glass of wine, we shared a dessert, and coffee to top the night off."

  • "We are major foodies and have tried just about every restaurant in the city. After reading all the great reviews, we finally gave this place a try. I'm sad it took us this long to go to Ludivine. I couldn't begin to write all the great things I have to say about this place. Just go here. You won't be disappointed. Fantastic food (best in OKC/Edmond/Norman/Moore in my opinion). Unique cocktail menu. Fairly priced. Beautiful decor. LOCAL. Enough said."

  • "We have been here many times and it never disappoints. Great execution of the farm to table concept, and the food is wonderful."

  • "Enjoyed our first time at Ludivine. Couldn't get in on Valentines Day so went Thursday night instead. Was initially worried as we were informed that reservations through Open Table were always seated at the Kitchen Bar. However the manager found us a table which was much appreciated. Service was great, very attentive and knowledgable. Ludivine has a unique menu which changes daily and features a more upscale selection for OKC. Enjoyed the beef ravioli and the hake fish. Also was pleased with the wine list and I had one of the best manhatten cocktails that I've ever had. Overall a good experience, the only cons were the noise level and the cost was somewhat high. We'd probably go back for special occasions."

  • "i've been to Ludivine 4-5 times now, and my food has been outstanding every single time. When the entrees are brought out, i'm always convinced the portions are too small, but the food is so incredibly rich that i'm never able to finish and always end up talking half of it home. They have a fun cocktail list; the beer is a bit expensive compared to restaurants in the same area that serve the same beers. This is not a cheap place to eat; it's definitely for special occasions or special dates. Their menu changes very frequently according to what is in season, but they keep their latest menu on the website. My only real criticism is that seating is a bit cramped, and it can be difficult just to get up and get to the restroom."

  • "This is our third time at Ludivine and once again they didn't disappoint! I had beef, my wife had the fish and both were great. We also love the ever changing drink menu. Since it is not a large room, it can get kind of noisy, but the noise isn't as annoying as some other places. Not a restaurant that we can afford often, but a go-to for anniversaries and other special occasions."

  • "Service was off the chart. The presentations were beautiful. We had the bone marrow and the crispy pork appetizers. The marrow well cooked, and the mustard, jelly and onions harmonized perfectly with the richness of the marrow. The crispy pork appetizer was on a sweet bread, with micro green salad on top that gave it wonderful freshness and texture. My leg of lamb was delicious. The smashed sweet potatoes with sage had an unexpected, rustic flavor. And the chard on top gave a slight bitterness that balanced the sweetness of the potatoes and lamb. My wife's tenderloin was cooked perfectly, and was paired with delicious scalloped potatoes and collard greens. Again, a wonderful balance of taste and textures. We will definitely be back!"

  • "I frequent Ludivine quite often an have never been disappointed. Their charcuterie and bone marrow are the best I have ever had. Their menu is changed often and I am always finding something new and delicious there. It can get into the pricey range, especially if you are having drinks, but you will not be disappointed."

  • "We went to Ludivine to celebrate a special event. The restaurant provided a centrally located table from which we could enjoy the general buzz as fellow diners unwound from a busy week. As usual, the restaurant menu included more options than one person could consume--although I did briefly consider that reported Roman trick that allowed endless gluttony, I decided against it:) Everything from appetizers through a delectable salted carmal and chocolate dessert that made me wonder if it was truly a social gafe to lick the plate. The only drawback was the chilly wind that whistled through the door whenever a new party entered, but that can't be helped. We went home and happily sank into a food coma. A great evening!"

  • "The first time I went to Ludivine the food was fantastic. I enjoyed brisket with a citrus glaze, a great red wine and a creme brûlée. This last time I went I tried the bone marrow, which was fine, a trout dish with vegetables and an orange vanilla creme de pot. My entree was over seasoned and my dessert was sweet enough without the 2 inch layer of honey on top. I was disappointed because I had been looking forward to returning but this was a let down. The staff was great though and the decor is very chic and urban. It is a very nice concept and I hope that was just an off night. I will try it out again before making up my mind."

  • "I like the restaurant. I wish there was some more connection between the chefs and the quality of food. Farm to table seems to be more important than execution. I wish the food could taste as genuine as I think the restaurant itself are."

  • "Had a great night. Liked the ambiance. The one bowl dinner concept is good. Had the pork shoulder. A little salty but nicely flavored. The waitress was excellent. The foid came out just as it should and hot.We will go back."

  • "Ludivine has never missed the mark. We've been 12-15 times and are always glad we did. Russell and Jonathon mix it up with the menu while striving to source locally. The waitstaff is always knowledgable and never trying to sell me anything. Definitely #1 in OKC."

  • "Had a great time at Ludivine. Started out at the bar where there was a good crowd. Was intrigued by the cocktail list- lots of interesting craft cocktails to choose from. The bartenders were friendly and you can tell that they are passionate about their job and the drinks they made- they really took the time to tell me about the drinks. Once we sat down at our table I took a good look at the wine list. The list was unlike any other that I have seen around here. It was not the same old list of the same old wines every place is trying to sell you. This list was fun and it gave me the chance to choose something different for the wife and I to share. The food menu was also unlike any other. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself!"

  • "Place was half full on a Thursday night. Seven of us (all adults) were in our party. Three ordered martinis - they ran out of martini glasses right off the bat! Seriously? In a restaurant with a full bar where (overpriced) food costs $100+ per couple? Service in the half empty restaurant was spotty and inconsiderate. Food ok but not great. Decor so "warehouse minimalistic" I thought I was dining at my storage unit. Obviously this place didn't do it for me or the rest of our group. There are plenty of great places to eat in OKC. I won't waste another trip on Ludivine."

  • "The menu was different than the usual fine dining we frequent. The wine list had a nice variety of domestic and European selections. The cocktails are inventive, and loved the use of a single large ice cube so as not to water down the drink. The venison and sea urchin appetizers were wonderful. My husband was initially worried that the game meat might not be well handled - that most certainly was not the case. For the main course he had a beef dish that was fork tender and very rich. I chose the cod, which was perfectly cooked. If we had any complaint, it would be that with all tops full, noise can be a factor. We will definitely be back to see what new things these folks are cooking up!"
