Diner Reviews
  • "Every single dish was amazing! We loved being able to order multiple dishes because of the size options. We had the homemade pasta, lobster risotto, scallops and halibut....AMAZING! Service was wonderful also, we will definitely come back!"

  • "Nothing to write home about. Some items were good, but not worth the price."

  • "Lucy Restaurant and Bar at the Bardessono Hotel in Yountville, CA, is simply an excellent restaurant. I find its decor very attractive, the cuisine is Great! and the service is Unusually attentive and knowledgeable."

  • "Service was flawless. The staff is extremely knowledgable. We love the option of a half portion entree. We tried 4 half portions to have more tastings and loved each one. The evening was a perfect dining experience. This is our favorite restaurant in the valley"

  • "Guy is the best! He kept us giggling like school girls all night and added to our wonderful experience at Lucy's. It goes without saying that the food is wonderful (this place is in Yountville, after all), so it's the staff that really sets the restaurant apart. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and recommend it without reservation!"

  • "Menu items were ill-conceived and poorly executed; service was marginal; wine line was not current. Ambience was very pleasant with tables looking out though large open windows onto a patio area."
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "We were the only 3 people in the restaurant and the service was slow and sparse. The food was mediocre and over priced. I would not return."
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "Very pleasant dining experience. Music at first a little too loud but they turned it down. The duck was perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend. Excellent wine list."

  • "Great food and attention to the customer. They have great outdoor dining area, beautifully landscaped with an outdoor fireplace. Great mac & cheese, burgers, sandwiches and fries."

  • "There is not a better deal out there in Yountville. Everything was amazing from the check in all the way to paying for the dinner. I had a slightly tough entree and the replaced it without any questions. The general manager stopped by several times to make sure that everything was to our expectations. The server's knowledge of everything on the menus was very impressive and to top it off it was very affordable compared to other restaurants in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for great food and service without breaking the bank."

  • "We arrived in Napa Friday afternoon and many restaurants in the area were booked. Lucy was tucked away in Bardessono. excellent food and service also had a nice outdoor patio."

  • "Of our group of 4, I'm the only one who was less than wildly ecstatic, only because I ordered the antelope medium and it arrived rare. But I'm doing the review, so the food gets 4 stars. Based on the recommendations my friends made to everyone we met for the rest of the trip, Lucy gets 10 stars out of 5. They proclaimed it the Best Place in Yountville, better than the overrated ad hoc (I agree). Service is unassuming but smooth, the ambiance IS unique, the garden trio and tuna cerviche are divine, the crispy sea bass and lobster risotto perfection, and the ants on a log dessert was a surprise taste treat that reminded me of peanut butter on celery, which I love. Dishes can be ordered in half portions, which are still nicely sized."

  • "It's a good restaurant, just not up to the standards of the neighborhood. So many real top flight places in Yountville. This is second level. Being seated next to a couple with a one year old didn't help."
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "Excellent food and service...love the half plates so that you can create unique combinations and try more menu items!!! Best Old Fashioned cocktail ever!!!"

  • "I was really looking forward to dining at Lucys. I was celebrating my girlfriends birthday and we dined in Yountville 3 nights in a row. Lucy's was the biggest disappointment. The service was so slow. I was shocked. I did notice that others were receiving better service with other waiters. The food was uneventful. We started with the oysters which were very good. We then ordered the house special pasta, steak, and lobster risotto entrees to share.. I felt all lacked any significant flavor though my girlfriend did enjoy the pasta. We were both disappointed with the other 2 entrees."

  • "Don't think it's just another hotel restaurant. Besides the French Laundry, Lucy's is the best restaurant in Yountville! We've eaten many times at Lucy's and have never been disappointed! Very classy and reasonably priced. I can't say enough good things about Lucy's."

  • "The food was great. Antelope chop was delicious. Scallops were perfect. Yum!"

  • "We could not have found a more romantic place or better food than what we shared at Lucy's. The prix fixe four course meal was delectable and the suggested wines were perfect. We have dined at Lucy's twice before for lunch and this dinner was a calculated risk that we will repeat at our earliest opportunity."

  • "Made a last minute reservation on Valentines Day and was very happy with our decision! The food was delicious and they happily accommodated me as a vegetarian even though the prix fixe was all meat. The service was great and everyone was very warm and welcoming. There was one time that the server forgot about my husbands drink he had ordered but it was a very busy night being VD and all... He was apologetic and sincere. My favorite was the house made pasta or gnocchi.... So delicious! We will definitely be back!"

  • "We cannot say enough kind words about this place. Every time we go we are met with a wonderful aura and enjoy each bite. This time we were lucky enough to find two seats at the bar and were able to have a great discussion with the bartender and other couples. A must go for the valley."

  • "A surprise on every level. This is easily a top area restaurant, that just happens to be at the Bardessono Hotel. Great food, Great staff, and a great dining experience. You will not be disappointed."

  • "I love Lucy's and not just because of the restrooms. Fabulous food and wine pairings in a modern Napa style, and friendly"

  • "Food was delicious from beginning to end. Five of us dined. We loved the option of half servings, which by the way were good portions. We each ordered a couple of the smaller options so we could try a variety of foods. It did not disappoint. We raved about the food all weekend and look forward to returning. Among the many fabulous dining options in Yountville this experience was a stand out"

  • "Happened on this restaurant while in town for a concert. The food was superb and the service was exceptionally attentive. Our waitress was kind enough to enquire about our plans for the evening and helped keep us from running late. The half-plate options are a stroke of genius. We will definitely be back to try all the rest of the mouth watering delights on the menu."

  • "Main Courses had a full and 1/2 priced portios listed, so diners could order two entree's - which we did. The 1/2 portions were generous and all were amazing. The service was great, they were attentive but not annoying. We purchased a gift certificate in a silent auction to this restaurant at a fundraiser and was not disappointed. We will definitely be coming back."

  • "The setting was nice, the food was overpriced & the fries & chips were bland & greasy. The portion size was a little small & pretty uninspired for a Yountville restaurant! Our server was very good & we sat outside which was quite nice on a warm January day. I would not recommend to a friend."

  • "Lucy was a place I had heard about and have been wanting to try. I was not disappointed. It's tucked inside the Bardessono Hotel and Spa and it gives off a very relaxing feel with a trendy twist to fine dining. The menu offered a great selection of rustic farm ingredients. I had the beet salad with goat cheese and the sea bass, both excellent. For dessert, the carrot cake. It was delicious. Lucy is located amongst the best like Bistro Jeanty and Bouchon, but don't underestimate what Lucy has to offer. Give it a try, it's worth it."

  • "We had never been to Lucy. We were celebrating the lifting of a major burden, so we thought to give it a try. We arrived early to relax in the bar before our reservation. A winery was pouring complimentary splashes of wine(only in Napa). We then tried a Manhattan. This was honestly a comparison with the Rob Roy's we make w/ Single Malt Whisky. They were quite good, with the use of top shelf ingredients. Then on to dinner. Perfection! My wife ordered the House salad which she said was wonderful. I went with the three course taster paired with tastes of wines selected by the sommelier // a wonderful beet and carrot 1st course, perfect. She then had a Lobster risotto with her Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc. She was in heaven. The Snapper - great"

  • "While we were at Lucy's in January we did not sit on their outdoor patio but it looked like the kind of place you would have a great time in the appropriate weather."

  • "A lot of work and many improvements need to be made at Lucy's. Our experience was truly terrible and a BIG disappointment."

  • "Great food, great people, great service. I would go back in a heart beat."

  • "This is our second time eating here. The restaurant is a beautiful space. For service, the bar and restaurant staff were all excellent except our dinner waitress who didn't seem to want to be there. Food is beautifully presented, but taste-wise a little bland except the tuna tartar which was very good. The music choice is totally bizarre, more suited to afternoon tea at the Ritz. We also ate at Lucy for lunch - again food so-so; lunch staff somewhat amateurish. We really want to like this place more but it is missing something and still feels as if they haven't got the concept quite right. I would still recommend it as other diners seem to have had better experiences. Hopefully we will have 3rd time lucky!"

  • "What a great place to end a lovely afternoon of wine tasting. Unfortunately, we didn't order any more wine b/c we had quite a bit at the wineries, but the food was phenomenal. Every one of the staff was wonderful. Our service was superb. We felt very pampered and treated extremely well. The waiter made some excellent suggestions and I was so glad he did. I went for a couple of small plates v. one entrée and it was a great choice. The lobster risotto, sole, and antelope were all top-notch. We highly recommend it for a very relaxing, enjoyable evening. We also took a quick trip around the hotel grounds as the outgoing hotel staff encouraged us to do so. Would love to stay at the property on a return trip."

  • "Food was good. Beautiful presentation and fresh ingredients with plenty of choices. Waitress was unpleasant. Food was served without description. She was taking our order as if she was doing us a favor. Forgot to bring out two items. A few times when we wanted to order a drink, she was nowhere to be found. And all of this on a slow Sunday night."

  • "Small portions high prices. Good but not exceptional quality."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed Christmas dinner at Lucy. It was a fixed menu which was excellent. The chestnut soup and crab salad made for delicious appertisers. My wife had the turkey dinner which while was very good but was not outstanding. However, the roast beef dinner was the juicious and most tender that I have ever had. The chocolate pot of cream and pumpkin loaf made excellent dessert choices. The pumpkin loaf just said Christmas to me. The dinner made us want to return and try their regular menu. An excellent choice for a holiday meal with friendly and attentive service."

  • "We enjoyed smaller plates of fish and gnocchi at an early dinner before going to a theater event. All of the staff - from valet parking to hostess, servers and manager- were so friendly. They made even our short visit extra special. We look forward to returning when we have more time to enjoy all the courses. Cheers!"

  • "All the food was too salty. From the butter to the main course. I'm mostly on a no extra salt diet so when a restaurant over salts their offerings its very noticeable. Other than that it's a great restaurant in a prime location. With less salt I'd enthusiastically recommend it!"

  • "We dined here in June outdoors. The setting was very serene due to the plants & trees providing a sense of lushness & some privacy. The food was very good, & the service was outstanding."
