Diner Reviews
  • "While the food and ambiance could use some work, it doesn't really matter because you will be laughing the night away. We had a great time the most fun I've ever had at dinner. "

  • "We went to Lucky Cheng's to celebrate a milestone birthday with entertainment that was fun - to that end we had a great time! We were all there on time for our reservation so we got a good table. The waitresses were absolutely fabulous in customer service - she brought us a replacement drink at no charge, when one of ours spilled over, chatted some, took photos for us and even posed with us. Since we got our drinks and food well before the show started, we were happy campers. We felt that the cost which covered food, drinks and entertainment was good value for money. Audience participation in the entertainment show was a great idea, although we did not volunteer to participate. Highly recommended!"

We had such an exciting night and one that she will never forget!! Everyone at Lucky Cheng's was awesome. You gave us all a night to remember. Thank you!!"

  • "Despite many mixed reviews, I found my evening out at Lucky Cheng's was a HOOT! Went there with the mind set of having fun! The show is unconventional and not for everyone, but it is all good fun! Pull your sticks out of your backsides and leave at the door!. If you are offended by cussing and take life too seriously, this place is not for you. It's entertainmanet and a fabulous show!!! Food is good, drinks are fun."

  • "I took some friends from out of town to Lucky Chengs on a Sunday night. It was a night to remember. The service is great. The show was fantastic. Strong drinks. Amazing energy. One of my friends turned to me and said "This is the most fun I have ever had". Success!"

  • "I came here for my friend's bachelorette and it started off great! Then our food came...I don't know how hard it is to mess up fried rice, but it must be pretty easy. Basically none of us ate even though we went in with the understanding that the food would not be that good. We tried to talk to our waiter about it but before we knew it was time to go. Take a careful look at the bill though because they will whack you with an automatic 20% tip and they pass around empty envelopes for you to tip the performers! I don't think this is a spot we will be checking out again."

  • "And I haven't laughed that hard and long in months! There is nothing like dinner and a show but dinner and a show at Lucky Cheng's is fabulous. Super entertaining and the food was great. I would definitely go again!"

  • "We booked this purely on reviews. I can strongly advise anyone to stay away at all costs. The meal is a prix fixe at $80 for a starter and main with no desert. The starter we chose was spring rolls and these were evidently just frozen from a supermarket. The main we chose were different rice dishes. The most watered down chicken was added to the, what felt like, 99% water rice. We both refused to eat the rice dishes as did every other diner we saw with the rice. The bill came to $103 once they had added their tip fee, they then had the audacity to shove an envelope in front of your face to ask for additional tips. On top of this paying $10 for one drink was not the image I had. Needless to say we will never return again. Very disappointed"

  • "We had a blast ! Food was better than expected. Service was attentive and the drag queens a hoot ! Will definitely go back"

  • "Go for the show - not for the food. Did the 'premium' (ie additional charge) pu pu platter, and got a few globs of fat (pork?). The spring rolls were tasty. Bland fried rice as entree. The show is fun, especially the number including audience participants. Now I've seen it once; do not need to go back!"

  • "The ladies where amazing and more than hospitable, the waitresses were kind but had edge and attitude, which of course was perfect for the scene. The entertainment and dinning went fabulously together and the audience participation made it so you were a part of the show too! Will certainly be coming back next time I visit NYC!!!"

  • "An interesting experience but overpriced. Not sure that I would recommend it but don't regret going. Some parts of the show are unexpectedly raunchy, even for that environment. If you decide to go, do so with a very open mind."

  • "The primary reason to go to Lucky Cheng's is for the fun and irreverent drag show. The food was good, but nothing to get extremely excited about. Overall a good value and a VERY fun time!"

  • "The show was great and we loved Sister Mary Ellen. The food was just plain and nothing special."

  • "Ok, it's great for the drag queen comedy show. But 40 dollars for that food... Not worthy. It's a fun environment for parties though."

  • "As a drag queen lover I was extremely disappointed. I was anxious to see an extravagant show in NYC. It was no where near that. The food was supposedly to be a prix fix menu instead they charged for appetizers. There was no Asian flavor to it at all. Our waitress Jezibel was awesome"

  • "I was skeptical of the dinner aspect. I went in with low expectations, but the food was quite good! The drinks were great and the drag queens were some of the best I've seen. Highly recommend this place for a super fun night in NYC"

  • "Best drag show cabaret ever. Our bartender Coco was so much fun and the other ladies were amazing too. Such an entertaining place and the food is great too! Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in NYC!!!"

  • "Let me start off by saying I had an amazing time at Lucky Chengs. Not for very timid or the faint of heart I Must add lol. The food was sub par need to upgrade the menu but the drinks were fab. All the girls working have their own drink named after them, try them all lol. The show was amazing and very energetic. They do a lot of things with crowd participation so be ready to be called up on stage. The ladies at Lucky Chengs are some of the sweetest Ive seen and very very welcoming & you will def enjoy your time here. Make sure you go see my favorite girl Delilah at the bar and make sure you check her performance out one of a kind ! Enjoy !"

  • "I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for its food and the "scene" won't appeal to everyone, but I enjoyed it very much! All of the performers in drag were dynamic (although they lip sync instead of sing). The place was packed and everyone got involved in the craziness. It was worth seeing, for sure."
