Diner Reviews
  • "Great Southern cuisine at a reasonable price! I bought two jars of voodoo sauce to take home with me. Don't know what voodoo sauce is? Go there and find out. Restaurants in Raleigh and Cary, NC and worth the trip. It was my second time there and the second time was better than the first"

  • "Great food and service. Quality of food was a cut above other restaurants in the area."

  • "I've eaten here a number of times over the years and was pleased to return with a friend from New York to enjoy the 25th anniversary menu. We began with Southern Popcorn--buttermilk & cornmeal/flour dredged, deep-fried okra with a buttermilk dressing. My friend couldn't believe it was okra! She had the shrimp and grits, I had the crab cakes--three!--with corn pudding and the most delicious collards I've had since Momma's. What I love here is the distinctive Southern-inspired but open-to-invention menu; its upscale but never snooty atmosphere; its welcoming, come-as-you-are vibe; its Southern soundtrack that sets the tone w/o intruding. We dined alongside couples, extended family groups, and young families with kids in high chairs."

  • "The food at this restaurant was wonderful and unique. Everything we ordered was delicious. The ambience was lovely and the service was fantastic. Our waiter was Dennis, and he was superb. He was on top of everything. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. We particularly enjoyed the uniqueness of the food choices."

  • "We took out of town family here and were embarassed and disappointed with the food. This used to be one of our favorites but something has happened and it is doubtful we will return. In fairness, it was a holiday weekend and perhaps the chef was away, but I don't really consider that a valid excuse. However, the outdoor dining space is wonderful for foliage blocks street noise, large ceiling fans keep the air moving without drafts, and the noise isn't bad. If only the pork chop, meatloaf and other entrees were as enjoyable."

  • "I wasn't, that good mostly rice and a bit pricy It just didn't even come to what I expected, It's no wonder that you had to close thw one in Winston Salem"

  • "We had a couple friends come in from out of town and they were impressed by the quality of the food for the price and absolutely enjoyed the restaurant as a whole. The pork loin was cooked perfectly, not dry like I usually find with restaurant cooked pork. The deviled eggs side dish was delicious. This is a definitely a go to for an economic and delicious taste of Greensboro!"

  • "We love this restaurant. I've been the past two weekends to celebrate birthdays of my family members. Great food. Great service. Seasonal menus."

  • "How can you destroy shrimp and grits? The first thing you do is you overcook the shrimp so that the are chewy and tasteless. Then you make a soup with says ave and tomates and some grave and you put some grits in the middle making it an ugly dish. Had the jambalaya a few weeks ago. It was horrendous."

  • "We have eaten at this restaurant twice. During this dining experience, the food was good but the service was slow. The waiter was gone so long after getting our drinks that I had to go find him to take our order. Overall, it is a good place to eat. We will be back."

  • "Great variety of entrees. Most entrees included choices of 2 or three sides that were wonderful. Kale and beans - yum! Other greens offered as choices too. Beef stew was reported as a bit too salty but other dishes were spiced just right. Outside dining patio was wonderful on a nice night."

  • "I've been eating at Lucky's several times a year since it opened in 1989. The food and service have remained consistently good, and for my wife and me, Lucky 32 and its sister restaurant Print Works Grill remain our primary go-to options. As I age, I sometimes find the background noise (music) a bit of an issue when I'm trying to have a conversation, and the blue-cheese salad dressing is still too runny, but those are my only complaints."

  • "We chose Lucky 32 as the restaurant for my birthday celebration, and the dinner was fabulous! We are never disappointed when we dine at Lucky 32. We began with cocktails in the lovely bar, then moved to our table at 6:30 p.m. I had the pulled pork on Johnny cakes, my husband had the ribeye steak--absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Thanks, Lucky 32, for consistently excellent food and service!"

  • "The food used traditional Southern elements in unique combinations with keeping a few classics for the kids."

  • "Food very good, seating much better than last visit. When the checks came at the end, my friend received two different checks, and so did the table next to us. The waiter apologized and corrected our error and the table next to us, as both had received a copy of my check. Never had that happen before!"

  • "We went for a Sunday Brunch and were so happy we are going to make it our go to spot for good food when friends and family are in town."

  • "This was my first time going to Lucky 32 and the atmosphere was wonderful. The waiter was very friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken with 2 sides and I thought the overall value you received for your money was appropriate. I will definitely be visiting Lucky 32 again."

  • "My ribeye steak was more close to medium than medium-well so I took my steak home to cook it for breakfast. I ordered eggs scrambled soft with cheese. The eggs were fried hard like an omelet and cheese was added in an attempt to soften them up. Waitress brought me some more eggs back out later which were much better. This was my first time going to brunch here. I was there treating my father on Father's Day. I'm not sure if I would return for another brunch."

  • "Extremely Dated décor....Very drab and 1980's looking. Menu dated and had strange combinations. A restaurant should never serve sunflower seeds on a house salad without informing the guest. House made blue cheese dressing more of runny buttermilk. Pork rinds and pimento cheese? Way too salty...most of the pimento cheese was still cold. Will probably never return. Service was marginal at best. Sat at a booth that had stains all over it...not very appetizing."

  • "Even though we went on a Monday evening at 6:30 pm, I was shocked it was do crowded. I did make a reservation, so we didn't have to wait. At first, they tried to seat us at a TINY table for two smacked up against a large and noisy crowded table, I refused to sit there, and we were taken to larger, nicer and quieter booth where we gladly were seated! I was not pleased that the restaurant tried to seat us at such an unpleasant table! Also, because it was so crowded, service could have been better!! We were served bread with only one piece of whole wheat bread, I had to ask for more and my friend was served her salad before her meal, asked for it with her meal and they forgot her French fries, so they delivered them later."

  • "This was not my first time at Lucky 32, but I had not experienced brunch there. My husband, son and I were delighted with our brunch experience. The food was great, as usual! Our service was outstanding! Although, this was Father's Day and there were many people, the staff was ready to accommodate all our needs. We will go back again! My husband had the steak and eggs. My son had the strawberry waffle and I had the pecan waffle. The pecan waffle was so light and fluffy--just the way I like them! Thanks for helping to make my husband's Father's Day special!"

  • "This restaurant offers fine Southern cooking. There were so many sides that I ordered extra just to satisfy my desire for Southern staples. Very good service. Outdoor dining was very nice."

  • "We have been to Lucky 32's on numerous occasions and we love it. My food was excellent (meatloaf) however they missed badly on my wife's Ribeye steak. Unfortunately, the steak was very bland, no seasoning and simply tasteless. We informed the server and he said he would let the kitchen know. Otherwise, a very good experience."

  • "I've eaten at Lucky's since it opened in '89. This review is based solely on my most recent visit. In past few years, Lucky's has emphasized local food. It has, if anything, made the menu better. I had shrimp and grits; the only person who makes it better is my mother, who's from Charleston. My wife had a legacy dish, Chicken Santa Fe. I've never been all that fond of it, but many friends/relatives like it, and she loved it. Noise level is always a little bad, particularly since I've gotten middle-aged and have a hard time hearing conversations when there's a lot of background noise. But it's not intolerable. Summary: outstanding for the price. Our server was new and not on his game, but past ones have been uniformly great."

  • "My boyfriend and I saw this restaurant on UNC TV and had to check it out. We were able to get a table outside and it was a dreamlike atmosphere. The food was delicious (loved the fried green tomatoes) and the only way I can describe the drink I ordered is that it tasted beautiful. Service was great and insightful about the menu. Having just moved here from VT, we are so happy to find restaurants in thia area that are part of such a vibrant food scene."

  • "My wife, daughter and I ate there for the first time and enjoyed it very much: great food, imaginative menu, fairly priced and the VooDoo Sauce is outstanding. We've eaten at other places owned by the same group and this continues the tradition of great meals, just at a little lower price point."
