Diner Reviews
  • "The roasted tomato soup is one of the best dishes I've ever had. The waitress's recommendation on wine was perfect. It was a lovely dinner."

  • "We had one of the best meals we've had in a long time at Lucia's. Both the Chicken and fish entrees were delish and the salads were great-the kitchen split our meals as we like to share everything and they did so happily and with no attitude! Dessert was yummmy. 5 stars!"

  • "I always enjoy my experience at Lucia's. I made reservations for dinner for myself and three out of town guests. We shared the featured flat bread and charcuterie small plates which were delicious. The Halibut, Chicken, and Zucchini pancake entrees were all excellent."

  • "We always wonder why we wait so long to go back to Lucia's for lunch. We have never been disappointed and always delighted by the menu choices, the service and especially the food. We took an out-of-town foodie friend, and she also raved about Lucia's."

  • "Good deal on Sunday -- $15 on select wine bottles. Also get happy hour deals after 9PM which gets some food so can do quite well for under $50 for two. They also have large plates which looked good but I stuck with the tapas."

  • "We have been to Lucia's every time we have been in Minneapolis, and it never fails. One time, we went there instead of a restaurant on the other side of the river. We would have been on the I-35 bridge just as it fell; so Lucia's will always be special to us. The clientele helps make it special too, full of life."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "Everything, from the bread to the desserts, was excellent. The bread is so good that it's worth a visit by itself. I had the most delicious steak I've ever eaten. My dining companions enjoyed the asparagus tart and the chicken with nectarines. The chocolate semifreddo and rhubarb cake were wonderful. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. We'll be back."

  • "Fresh food, inspiring and creative dishes for foodies ...great wine and excellent service. Truly a gem."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Food quality needs attention. Group of 6, no one raved about their dinner. Two in group broke teeth on the bread, no kidding! Seared tuna was not the quality of tuna that I recently had at Oceanaire, as Lucia's was tough to cut, I had to ask for a steak knife! Will delete this place from my favorite list."

  • "Loved the menu, ambiance, authenticity. Randomly selected based on Open Table reviews for anniversary dinner. The weekly changing menu is a fabulous concept, as is the fluid wine list. Locally sourced, they prepare perhaps the best steak I've ever had. Others say it they can make it melt in your mouth. This is the only place that's actually achieved the feat. And the Yellow tail was fabulous too. Would've recommended it yesterday if I could have. But I didn't know of Lucia's awesomeness until them. Wow. You won't be disappointed."

  • "We made reservations for a Sundat evening, unaware that the Uptown area was clogged with a "food-truck rally" of some sort. Despite the crowds on the streets (and the parking made especially challenging, Lucia's was relaxing and rewarding. The food is consistently good and the service friendly, as always. I'm happy that there are dependably excellent places, like Lucia's, in the Twin Cities."

  • "Warmly greeted and ushered out of the rain, we were seated by the window and treated to the superb food and service we'd eagerly expected. After a leisurely conversation, our experience was topped off by astoundingly delicious desert and coffee. We then traversed to "Lucia's to Go" to stock up for the coming day. There we found breakfast available all day long, plus pastries, breads and many prepared foods! We could have simply stayed overnight, but alas, Lucia's is not an inn. Taking home some delicacies, we'll return for picnic supplies another day."

  • "Great flavors! The food was prompt and it was delicious."

  • "we love Lucia's. staff is the best. we had a reservation & we were seated at a great window table. server, who has been at lucia's forever was not up to standard ..just wasn't very attentive at all. small plate pizza was the best..sea bass entree was the worst for both of us..dry & no taste. my husband commented..that was our worst meat ever at lucia's.."

  • "Some of the best food in the TC, much of it seasonal and locally sourced. Extremely high quality ingredients and fantastically prepared. Relaxed atmosphere and great low key ambience."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "This continues to be our favorite spot for special occasions. The food is so well done, and beautifully presented. The noise level is low enough that you can hear your own conversation. The desserts are to die for! Always a pleasure!"

  • "We had a wonderful Father's Day brunch. Popovers were amazing! We loved the french omelette with pulled pork. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "We love the gentle European feel that's relaxed yet elegant. The food choices are always creative and the tastes first rate. A friendly place for foodies where people are knowledgeable but not stuffy. Locally grown, organic and fabulous!"

  • "This was a special goodbye dinner with family as we are moving across the country. Lucia decided to do just small plates. We weren't too happy, but then all of the small plates we tried were incredibly slow getting out and fair tasting. The waitperson said they chose small plates because of the bike race. I wish they had called and told me. Frankly, we would have been fine if the small plates were delicious. Not a good evening at Lucia's."

  • "It was a nice place. The food was good but was a bit overpriced."

  • "Having not seen our college friends since March, we had a lot of catching up. Our server caught the vibe and left us alone. We never felt rushed -- even ordering drinks was paced perfectly. The food was perfect (always is at Lucia's) - however, the service made the evening A+."

  • "Lucia's is a gem. Run don't walk there. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "Lucia's is just a fabulous place for lunch outdoors. The food is always good and the atmosphere is classic sidewalk dining. The salads are fresh and interesting, the crab cakes are delectable, and the service is attentive. If you can get there a bit before noon you can park in Lucia's parking lot on the side otherwise parking starts to get full around noon but there are usually on-street parking spots not too far away."

  • "Lucia's Restaurant is a true GEM without a doubt. The staff are friendly and are quick to box up your left-overs and keep the glass full. I love the food here at Lucia's and find that the weekly changing menu always has the best local ingredients and real creativity in preparation and presentation. Two big thumbs up Lucia's!"

  • "The restaurant is comfortable but the noise level is slightly high. Servers were excellent and helpful . Appetizer plates were good. Wish they had just plain baguette bread. Salmon was moist and flavorful. Desserts were just average. I would have preferred some smaller options or offering some cake slices such as the old fashioned cake next door. Overall, a memorable evening"

  • "I've been going to Lucia's since it opened and it is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always excellent. The service good. And the noise, well, I don't know how you're going to quiet such a popular place down! I always look forward to coming back."

  • "This was the first time we had brunch at Lucia's. It was a great experience. The menu selection was excellent. We started with scones and they were wonderful. We will definitely brunch at Lucia's again. Be sure to make reservations. They were turning people away or saying there was a hour wait. "

  • "The one thing we were disappointed in my husband put down a special event and it was my birthday and they did not even acknowledge or do a little something special we mentioned it to the waitress and she just smirked. Otherwise we love the food and wine selection and recommend it since it is always excellent "

  • "It had been a few years since I'd last eaten at Lucia's. The food and service were excellent. I had the duck, which may be the best I've ever enjoyed. Lucia's continues to be a delightful place to dine."
    Dined on 5/22/2014
  • "The food was great as it always is. Because we had to wait for our brunch order, the waiter brought us each a scone "on the house", which we enjoyed. Parking was a bit of a problem but we managed."

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed my Steelhead Trout. Would return in a heartbeat for her fish!! Also enjoyed the professional, informed, non-hovering, non-pretentious service. Pricey, perhaps a bit too for some; but overall, delightful for the special occasion. Four of us dined, no complaints whatsoever!"

  • "Friends coming from out of town recently asked to meet us for dinner. We both had the same inspiration... let's eat at Lucia's. They had never been and it had been a while for us. We weren't disappointed. What a gem Lucia's has always been. We are so fortunate to have that quality in such an intimate setting. If you haven't been, go. If you have, you know what I mean!"

  • "As transplants from Chicago, my wife and I are looking for fine dining areas in Minneaspolis and followed up on one from our list gathered from previous dining excursion, Lucia's. We went for a 7:30 PM seating on Mother's Day. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we found a spot in the lot next door. Seating was perfect at a small table by one of the windows. Adequate but not extensive main course. My wife had the cornish hen which was actually pretty filling and I had the salmon which was a small serving, but more than adequate and tender. Service was good, wine a surprise - tried a mix red (Cabernet/Merlot) from Chile which was had a bold, lasting flavor. Needless to say, we were very pleased with this expeirence. "
