Diner Reviews
  • "Great service, we were busy talking and he noticed so did not come to interrupt us. Food was delicious, my zuppa di mare was too spicy for me, so they made me another one. I did not insist, he suggested it. The best dish in my life!!!!"

  • "Cordial and attentive staff. Food is excellent. We will definitely be going back."

  • "Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent service. Wonderful gem to have so close to home. Thank goodness they participated in restaurant week 2014, otherwise, I would not have gone. I had seen the restaurant upon attending a concert at Gwinnett Center a year ago; thinking that I may want to try it one day. Upon arrival it does not look as beautiful as it is inside. The décor takes you to another world entirely. This restaurant is upscale but not pretentious. The servers are extremely attentive, yet not bothersome. Their many offerings are tasty and delicious enough for any foodie. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "This restaurant was a surprising find tucked away in a Kroger plaza. I only knew about them because they were a host for Gwinnett restaurant week with 3 courses for $21.21pp. The shrimp appetizer in tomato sauce was delicious, as was the salmon stuffed with real crabmeat entree and the dessert of chocolate covered pb ice cream. The food, our server Sean and the experience itself was perfect. Couldn't have been better. Glad to have discovered this hidden gem & at such a great price due to the special with restaurant week."

  • "Great food & fantastic service, we have been here many times and never dissapoint."

  • "I've eaten at Luciano's 8 or 10 times. I would describe the food as amazing. 5 stars easily. I was very excited to go for restaurant week, and unfortunately, was very disappointed with the appetizers and main dishes. We had all of them between the group, and nothing was particularly good. Wouldn't say inedible, although the pork chop approached it, and the salmon had an off flavor. The desserts were excellent, as usual. I would recommend for any time of year other than restaurant week. This place is usually a hidden gem."

  • "we are always pleased with our experience at Luciano's, yet we did find the pizza crust tonight to be very limp and the request for shrimp and grits as a dinner item was replaced by shrimp and polenta...shrimp appetizers were exceptional... shrimp and polenta shrimp were lacking... polenta is a poor substitute and served 5 minutes after my companions..."

  • "First time, and it won't be the last. Our waitress was extremely patient with taking our order, and when we finally nailed down our choices, she was very quick to continue the excellent customer service throughout the meal. All the staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxing."

  • "Completely satisfied. Luciano's will always be a top choice for fine dining. It could be a little less noisy."

  • "I dined at Luciano's with three other people. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The menu is straightforward Italian, with steaks, chicken, veal, and various pasta selection. I had the veal picatta, and found it flavorful though a bit on the tough side for my liking. The other guests had chicken parmaggiana and chicken marsala. It was "good", but not extraordinary. The caesar salad was very good. However, it was too LOUD in the restaurant, with live music that was completely out of place for the kind of restaurant it was, to the point of not being able to hear the person sitting next to you. It made NO SENSE to have live music in this restaurant, or at least, such LOUD live music. Because of this, I would not return."

  • "Fantastic waitress who was very kind and attentive to our group of 5 in addition to having another large table to 10+. Though I'm from the west coast, I had the Atlantic salmon which was great. Everyone in our group was very pleased with their meal."

  • "I was there this time for a small group (7) business dinner and everyone enjoyed it very much. Whether I sit at bar, have brunch, lunch or dinner-the food & service is usually very good."

  • "Great dinner at Luciano's on Thursday the 20th of June. Wonderful meal. Had the veal parmigiana which is probably as good as I've ever had. Was delicious. Washed that down with an Aglianico Taurasi that was magnificent!!"

  • "Had I paid attention to the price before arriving, I would have balked. But overall I'm quite glad we went. The brunch buffet is a thrice-yearly event at Luciano's (Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day) and is worth it for these special occasions. My wife completely enjoyed the peel 'n eat shrimp, while my daughter and I went for prime rib and lamb. I finished up with a waffle and bacon, because... well, bacon! And the carmel-apple pie was a great dessert! More money than I'd typically spend, but definitely a BIG step above other special occasion buffets I've been to. Worth a try if you've got the budget for a special occasion."

  • "I have been here on several occasions. Food and service are consistently good."

  • "This was our second dinner visit and it did not disappoint. Food and service were both great. Great atmosphere without being pretentious or stuffy. Not cheap by any means but not overpriced. Nice place to take out of town company without the hassle of driving to Buckhead or Midtown."

  • "Let me start by saying the service is absolutely wonderful! ! The food unfortunately is very bland. Went there for the first time for. Mother's day brunch and enjoyed everything I ate. Went back about a month later for dinner and was highly disappointed. If Italian authenticity means no seasoning then they are the real deal. Food is visually appealing but ends there. Between the 3 people at our table we tried the scallop appetizer, the chicken wing appetizer, the mushroom ravioli, the fettuccine alfredo, cow girl steak, mushroom risotto, and the banana bread pudding. All tasted like it was prepared for an elderly person on a restricted diet. We will not be returning though the prices are reasonable."

  • "Excellent! Everything was cooked to perfection, lovely presentation and the flavors were wonderful. Atmosphere is elegant - linen table cloths & napkins, soft lighting, soft music, etc. I'll be back! My only complaint was our waiter. One person ordered 4 appetizers, wanting two of them as a main course, and the waiter asked us which appetizers he wanted to receive first. We told him, and he disagreed with us, saying it would be easier for HIM if he brought the other two appetizers first. We complied, but it messed up our dining. The other person's main course arrived first, so we sat and waited (not wanting to eat his main course!). Then when the main course arrived for everyone else, the appetizers arrived. Bad timing, unnecessary."

  • "I don't live in the area so I don't go there for dinner but lunch is always awesome."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "It's a pretty bad showing when both my wife and I have to return our entrees because they're terrible. How can an Italian restaurant overcook pasta? How do you overcook veal to the point of being inedible? Lamb oso buco becomes dried out after being described as "fall off the bone tender." Maybe it was just a bad night but I scratched this one off my list."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "I've been here for lunch a dozen times and it's always good. This hidden gem is surrounded by boring chain restaurants and is a welcome change from the usual suspects."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "We really enjoyed dinner on a quiet Sunday evening. Cathy gave us the best possible service. The veal marsala was very good, as was the chicken picata, though a little heavy on the picata. $100 plus tip was right on the nose."

  • "A really nice restaurant. Great Food, served hot by friendly efficient waitpersons. Go every time I am in town. Excellent Steaks and Seafood and very reasonable prices."

  • "We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Sean, was attentive yet unobtrusive. Others on staff were aware of keeping our water glasses filled, removing empty plates, etc, and this was done in a manner that their presence was hardly noticed. Meals were good. However, the calamari (which I've had there before) was barely okay. It didn't have much taste and some pieces were over cooked. Overall, our experience at Luciano's was very good."

  • "Excellent Restaurant, never disappoints we have been coming here since they open and it gets better and better now they offer a great variety of hand cut steaks "

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times-the food is always excellent-we have never had bad service, however, I think our waiter was new. He did not know the specials or the wine list--I did call the next day to complain to the manager--she was nice and assured me he would get more training--we will go back for sure--hopefully service will be better- "

  • "This place is a real gem! The food is awesome and the service is outstanding. Italian is very good but the steaks are a good as it gets! Perfect place to enjoy dinner before a concert or just a nice night out!"

  • "Very repented of having done, not allowing my husband takeme to his favorite BoneFish.I read bad reviews of people recently.I pay dearly my selection, the waiter we had wasn't kind, helpful contrary neglected, slow, the worst part ordering food because in my pasta dish I found a hair, it was something horrible and disgusting for me, also my husband noticed its chicken was not well done and had the skin over, today a restaurant with quality control and offering healthy meals must remove skin from chicken, it's something that I usually do at home therefore unacceptable to my husband. I share this review to avoid anyone live this. We never would recommend this restaurant to anybody and we already deleted it from our list forever."

  • "Dining room was very loud and they added a guitar player who I think was pretty good, but it just added to the noisiness in the dining room making it difficult to carry on conversations. Dined here a year ago and noticed menu has been redone, some less expensive items have been deleted. Our waiter told us they are on the lunch menu. Overall, the food was ok and the dishes were creative."

  • "We never eat in Gwinnett county but it was a mid point for a business dinner I had to set up. This place looked good so we gave it a shot. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely go back. They have a nice extensive wine list and a great dinner menu."
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "Service was very slow. It took the waitress almost 10 minutes to come to the table when we arrived. The food was good but not exceptional. Although we let the restaurant know ahead of time that this was a birthday dinner, there was no acknowledgement until after desserts were ordered that the waitress knew this was a special occasion. When you spend $300, you expect more!"

  • "Gwinnett is not known for fine dining, however, Luciano's is a pleasant alternative to the scores of chain restaurants found here. An excellent menu and very good specials, more than adequate wine list and professional servers are all notable. Pricing is appropriate for the venue. The room is vibrant and may seem a little loud to some."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "Our experience at Luciano's began on a negative note as our table was jammed into a corner and next to a group of previously seated diners. Many other tables were open and with a reservation, we felt we should have been seated in a more comfortable location. The food was excellent; however two of our group ordered alternate sides and this had to be corrected three times before it was correct. Because I made the reservation, I picked up the bill for all four of use since things did not go smoothly in all respects. We began with one waiter and then another took over so perhaps this was the problem with the food issue."

  • "The urban wine was delicious. There was a man an his daughter singing soft relaxing music. Im allergic to onions an the waiter Patrick made sure none of my food had onions, and so did the chef. I had the chicken diavlo without any onions and it was so delicious. I will go back there as often as I possibly can."

  • "Luciano's was an accidental find for a family get-together. A little pricier than the $$ indicated, but worth it. Probably better suited as a special occasion night out. We'll be back!"
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "Luciano's is a neighborhood favorite for great food and wine, elegant white table cloth ambiance but still family friendly. Outstanding food and service, and great ambiance make this a regular "go to" on our restaurant rotation."

  • "I can always count on Luciano's to be fabulous! My husband and I took our kids for the first time and they loved it as well. The food is the best Italian in Atlanta, inside or outside the Perimeter! :)"

  • "We've been patrons since the doors opened years ago and have never once been disappointed in the food. I would say in the 20 to 25 times we've dined at Luciano's, we've only had slow service once. Our most recent experience was for Mother's Day Brunch and I cannot say enough good things about the food, choices of foods, and especially the excellent service on this very busy day."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Went for Mother's Day Buffet and it was absolutely fantastic !They only do the buffet on Special Day's so get in line because we will be. The buffet had all the things that your heart could desire and plenty of it. From steamed shrimp to small lobster tails to eggs benedict and it was all delicious."
