Diner Reviews
  • "I have lived in Charlotte for over 20 years and had never eaten at Luciano's, but we had an anniversary dinner there recently and my wife and I both loved it. We will definitely go back and bring others with us. The food was great and the service was top-notch. You should definitely check it out."

  • "We went with another couple on a Sunday night. Calamari must have come out of the freezer-not good. Nice ambiance, but the menu is nothing special and why would a fall item, like butternut squash ravioli, be on the menu year round? Since this is a chain (isn't everything in Charlotte?) it has that cookie cutter feel to menu and execution. The desserts came out of the freezer too. Should have gone to Sullivan's right across the parking lot."

  • "Lucianos was outstanding, great food, beautiful scenery, and the waiter Marlo went beyond in service, thanks for the best dining experience ever."

  • "Accidentally came to Luciano's on 1/2 price bottled wine night (Wednesday). The wine prices are already reasonable, unlike some restaurants. We ordered a bottle of Zenato Pinot Grigio, a favorite, and a Tuscan red named Rubio from San Polo, on the recommendation of our waitress. Both were excellent choices. The price was less than two glasses of each would have been with the bottle discount. The service was exceptional. We had three servers assigned to our table and were introduced to each of them. The seafood soup was excellent and included chunks of both of the fresh catch of the day. I didn't try the lasagna my wife ordered but it looked delicious. Salads were fresh and tasty. We had a mista and a chop salad. I recommend both."

  • "The atmosphere, great entrees, and charming, friendly staff are such a treat! I was there for dinner for a friend's birthday. The staff are kind, caring, fun and funny. I felt so "at home" and this was my first time dining at Luciano's. We were both thrilled with our choice to dine at Luciano's."

  • "The food and service at Luciano's is excellent. This was my fifth trip here and I think it gets better every time. The staff is friendly, service is well-paced, and the food is wonderful. Good wines also!!"

  • "I've now been here for two birthdays, one was mine. The service is wonderful and I loved the food. I'm Otalian and find it difficult to find quality. I especially appreciate the homemade pasta. Thank you!"

  • "Our meal at Luciano's was absolutely excellent. The food was some of the best we have ever had for higher-end Italian, and will be back. However, we were outside of the main dining room and our waitress was the bartender, who was unable to easily see us, and became overwhelmed and didn't visit our table after appetizers until it was time for us to get our check. Our (non-water) drinks were not offered to be refilled, nor were we offered fresh cheese or pepper upon the arrival of our main courses. Knowing she was busy, she should have handed over the table, or one of the waiters serving other guests around us could have helped, but it wasn't until we had been seated with our empty plates for 15 minutes did someone help us."

  • "Everytine I've been to Luciano's, I have been impressed. The roasted tomato oil with the bread before the meal is addictive. Can't wait to go back!!!"

  • "Luciano's is absolutely fantastic - certainly a gem in the Dilworth area! My fiance and I dined at several top-tier restaurants during Queen's Feast, and this was our top pick for over-all dining experience. Our server was prompt and had quite the charming sense of humor. The valet was quick and courteous. We ordered a few seafood items as part of our picks (which were perfectly seasoned and cooked so as to melt in our mouths). On top of everything, the manager unexpectedly offered us a very generous complimentary item, which made the night truly unforgettable. It would be remiss not to include that we have already made a reservation for this Saturday for a birthday dinner!"

  • "My husband and I tried Luciano's during restaurant week, and we had a 5-star experience. What impressed us the most was the impeccable service. Everyone from the hostess to the manager were all so nice. First class, yet no pretentious attitude. We loved the dipping sauce they provide with the bread! It was a step up from the usual. Also, I must mention the drinks. They were awesome. Thumbs up to the bartender! We will definitely go back."

  • "We tried Luciano's during restaurant week. The decor was the first thing I noticed -- soft white and elegant. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. Fabulous service, helpful and knowledgable about the menu, courteous. Every course that we had was wonderful. I had the pork -- flattened and pan fried with rocket salad. The salad was so fresh with just a hint of dressing and the pork was crispy and moist, just perfect. The rest of my party had the beef tenderloin and they all enjoyed their meal as well. You MUST have dessert! I had the peanut butter bombe (may not be the right name..) and it was incredible. We didn't have to raise our voices to talk or strain to hear each other. The lighting enabled me to see the menu."

  • "We tried this restaurant as part of a 'restaurant week' event. Great food. At first I did not think I would like the 8 oz. Beef Tenderloin - roasted fingerling potatoes, mushroom Marsala cream sauce because I am not much for mushrooms but it was awesome. I really think there was more than 8 oz of meat there. I had to leave a couple of bits so I could save room for dessert. I had the Peanut Butter Bomba for dessert...Great choice. I felt this was pricey ($30.00 for 3-courses per person) but I usually never eat 3 courses. We did have the option to order from the menu but chose not to. Ordering off the menu is cheaper but we wanted to taste everything. Next time I will skip the appetizer so I will have room for entree and dessert."

  • "The food was beyond awesome, unfortunately our waiter thought our permanent tans meant we were not "well rounded" and felt the need to speak to us as if we arrived on the short bus..."

  • "We experiment with new restaurants during 'Restaurant week' to find one that we've never been to and see what they can do. At Luciano's we hit pay dirt. They had a great pre-fix menu which demonstrated some breadth and accommodated the tastes of our group. All were very pleased. We'll be back."

  • "We went to Luciano's for the first time during restaurant week. The 4 of us ordered from the $30 menu. The arancini appetizer was delicious, and both desserts (nutella panna cotta and peanut butter bomba) were very good. However, 2 main course selections (stuffed salmon and beef tenderloin marsala) were both ok and the pork chop Milanese was very tough. The two diners who ate the pork chop struggled through the tough meat but I would not have been able to eat it. We did let the waiter know about the pork chop, but no apology or explanation from the manager or chef. Nice wine list. We had a delicious Mettler zinfandel."

  • "The restaurant accommodated my request for a quiet spot, and seated us in the private dining room. We started off by sharing an order of the calamari fritti, which was light and tasty. My husband had the gorgonzola crusted filet mignon, which was very flavorful and so tender it cut like butter. I had the chicken piccata, which was excellent. It was pounded thin, and was tender- not overcooked. My son had the eggplant parmigiana and said it was the best he'd ever had. He loved the sauce. The desserts were also a big hit. My husband had the tiramisu, I had the chocolate gelato, and my son had the brownie ala mode. Service was top notch. We will definitely be returning to try more dishes."

  • "Our first visit to Luciano's was very nice. The antipasto plate was very generous and good. The sole meuniere was excellent as was the veal marsala. The nightly special, a seafood combination pasta, was also very good. The lamb shank was well-prepared and tasty. We did not have dessert. The only slight hiccup was bringing a salad before we were finished with the antipasto."

  • "We came to have dinner and celebrate a friend's last night out as a "single lady". Our dining experience could not have been any better. First of all, our waiter, Nate, made us laugh, and was very attentive to us. He even indulged us when we asked him to call LeeAnn's fiancé to tell him how lucky he is to be marrying her!! The food and wine were both outstanding and the atmosphere was elegant. They even offer a gluten-free menu which was important to one of friend's who has Celiac's disease. Plus, the restaurant is conveniently located next to the light rail system, which we rode into uptown Charlotte afterwards. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this place and will definitely go back."

  • "Went to Luciano's with a couple friends from work. None of us had ever been there so didn't know what to expect. Had a great meal. The beef carpaccio was a big portion, plenty to share with some flash-fried capers that were a nice touch. I had Salmon with asparagus that was fantastic. One friend had veal picatta and the other had the rib-eye. We shared and all were very tasty. For dessert we had a dark chocolate brownie with ice cream and it was also great. I highly recommend this place."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to Luciano's on Saturday night 6/28/14. The service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive and prompt. The food was also very good. When a large party was seated next to us, the manager came by our table to ask us if we would like to move to another table. Overall I was very impressed. Good wine list, good food, nice ambiance and great service."

  • "This was our first visit to this restaurant. It's easy to find off the corner of South Blvd. and East Blvd. next to Sullivan's Steakhouse. The interior appearance is stunning and felt very upscale, yet casual. The menu is diverse with something for everyone and the prices were very resasonable. This will definitely be on our list of favorites now that we have been there. Enjoy!"

  • "We went with out teenage kids on a Saturday night for the first time and were very pleased with Luciano's. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food was excellent. Our server, Paul, was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great selections. Apparently the owner also owns a meat shop and the steak I had was cooked to perfection and so good. My husband had the orecchiette and cleaned his plate!! My daughters had the lasagna and loved it. My younger son found his favorite chicken nuggets on the kids menu. We are definitely coming back for a grown-up night!"

  • "This was our third time at Luciano's. They were very accommodating with seating us inside, as we brought guests for their first visit and wanted them to enjoy the beautiful dining room , rather than sit on the porch. The food was excellent…especially the octopus appetizer and the linguine vongole, which is not on the menu, but usually available. The experience is even more enjoyable with the attentive service of Ronald, whom we have requested since our first visit."

  • "It is not our first time eating at Luciano's, but definitely our first time ordering from their new menu, our visit start with a very good cocktail at the bar and then we sat at a table which we got taken care of by the same person (Ronald) that is the name of the guy who took care of us that evening, he did an awesome job we order the Dover Sole and a Frutti de Mare dish which he did an incredible job debone it for me and at the end of our meal he brought us a wet napkin and lemon to clean our hands since we both were eating shellfish, overall it was a great dinner at Luciano's but I have to admit that this time we enjoyed more than the previous time. Thank you once again Luciano's and Ronald for an amazing night"

  • "Nicer than a quick sandwich place, but not so nice (or slow) that it feels like more of an imposition than a treat for lunch. 3 course lunch special was a good value, food was great, service was friendly -- great spot. Self-parking could be a little tricky if things were busy, but valet parking was offered."

  • "We used to go to Luciano's in Alpharetta on a regular basis before we left the city. And the CLT location has picked up where that left off with the same menu. The carpaccio sets a standard and the bread with dipping sauce is without compare."
