  • "Unable to find parking, we called because were running late. Held our reservation and put us at the top of this list once we arrived - 45 minutes late! BEWARE - factor this in when making your reservation. With a busy and full lobby, the hostess was extremely patient and kind to all. The food was incredible, expertly prepared and hot, straight from the kitchen. We'll be back, again and again!"

  • "This is our second time here - first time (which I may have posted about) was a chance-occurrence looking for someplace in the North End on OpenTable. My wife had the pesto linguine (again!) and I had a large, stuffed veal chop (spinach, prosciutto, and fontina) lightly breaded and pan-fried that was moist and full of flavor – a special that night. A third guest had the gnocchi’s and did not leave a single one behind. Service was outstanding."

  • "The food was delsih but I'm disappointed in what I thought would be a romantic evening for my fiancés bday.We had a show to get to at 7 30. Our res. was at 5. We arrived early. They made us wait for valet, after I called ahead to see if we could be seated earlier. I was hoping we wouldn't have to rush around. We ordered 3 apps and 2main courses. Our salad didn't come with the apps we orderd-in fact, I had to remind them. When our entrees finally arrived, my fiancés dish was missing the sole. So they took it back to remake it, andI had to send my entree back to be reheated. By the time we finished, it was after 6 30 and we had to leave. My res. notes ask for something special for his bday, and that never happened. Poor execution."

  • "Service was satisfactory - asked about different wines - waiter was not knowledgeable - Food was very disappointing - salad just ok -- baked eggplant arrived cold -- was mushy and had no flavor -- special menu - lamb was ok -- asked if chef could substitute risotto for mashed potato -- answer was "no" - mashed potato was cold."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by locals, so we had high expectations. The prices and wine were fantastic, however the quality of the food left something to be desired. I had a four cheese tortellini which was just bland. We"

  • "We had friends visiting from the south and had to change plans at the last minute. This restaurant was available and Open Table comments were for the most part positive. If you check reviews at other websites (I didn't until afterwards), you will see quite a different story. The filet of sole was not good. Very oily. The calamari was dry and tough. With the exception of chicken marsala (two from the party had it and enjoyed it, the rest of the meals were just OK. Expected much more from a Boston North End Italian Restaurant. No need to go back."

  • "there were 7 of us and we all loved our food. we have been going to the north end for 30 years and this was our first visit to Lucia's I would recommend this restaurant, portions were perfect, price was as expected, ambiance was very nice. Make a reservation as line was out the door when we left."

  • "+ They accommodated a party of 7 on short notice on a Friday night Service was good The bill was reasonable - It was a cold day in February, we were in the basement, and it was not clear the heat was on in the place. I ate in my winter coat. The food was good but not anything particularly special"

  • "Never have been to the North End neighborhood and knew the area was primarily Italian food Researched online and found this place. I visited at 8:30pm on a Tuesday so it was just me and another party in the restaurant. I am guessing this place would be packed on the weekend as it would be a romantic place. Very cozy with amazing artwork on the ceiling. Food was good and came out warm. Barhopped in the area after dinner and without a doubt, this was the nicest place in the neighborhood."

  • "Valentine's Day was my second visit to Lucia Restaurant and it won't be my last. I was surprised to find an opening last minute on Valentine's Day and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is very large - 3 levels, but each level creates its own intimate space. For this seating, we were on the third level. Our waitress was attentive and everything was delivered very timely. The food was delicious and priced very well. Our level was a combination of couples, 4 and 6 seated tables and one large party. With this, I was able to hear my firend and our conversation was not impacted; the noise level was fine. I am looking forward to visiting again."

  • "Great v day experience. Obviously was flooded with reservations for two but did great job to accomodate. Food was outstanding. first time there. Will be going back. Very roomy upstairs compared to other North end places. Waitstaff was great too!!! Well done"

  • "Very busy this night, obviously. Our group of 4 was seated very closely to others, however it proved to be a very enjoyable evening! Service was attentive and food was delicious! Will definitely go again!"

  • "Well had an 8 pm reservation on valentines day and when we arrived we were told there were 8 parties ahead of us! Clearly they overbooked the night. They were obviously short staffed also because everything was really slow from the moment we sat down except for the minute we stopped eating they tried to rush us right out of there. The food was good no real complaints there .."

  • "This is our favorite North End restaurant. On our way to Lucia's we stop at Salumeria Italiana to get pancetta, bread, and prosciutto. Lucia's food is wonderful, and the pace of our dining experience is always comfortable. We love their take on all of the classic Italian dishes we've had. The spinach salad on the menu this evening was superb. We love "our" table in the front window from which we can watch the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. On our way home, of course we stop in for canolis at Mike's Pastry."

  • "Took my girlfriend there on Valentine's Day. Both are meals were delicious. They specialize in their veal options. The wine list was so-so and the prices are moderate for dining in the North End of Boston."

  • "The North End in Boston is the home for many wonderful Italian restaurants, and we have tried many of them. Lucia's continues to be one of the best and has actually even gotten better over the years. Their pasta and it's preparation is superb and, if you like veal, try their Saltimbocca. It is outstanding. It is a must if you are visiting Boston."

  • "I have eaten at Lucia's three times in the past year! each time with a different group of people. The menu is complete and varied, the wine, beer and drinks selection was just right. I feel very happy when we have made reservations at Lucia's. I know that my family and friends will have a relaxed dining experience with wonderful food and very friendly service. I love Lucia's and I do recommend it to others."

  • "We met some special friends from out of town here and were offered the window table which was quiet and we could talk and linger. Wait staff was very attentive but did not hover, and they were extremely helpful with the menu choices. Shared salads were split in the kitchen without our even having to ask and substitutions were cheerfully honored. I loved the chicken/veal dish with linguine, and our guests said the saltimbocca dish was yummy and the veal marsala was seasoned perfectly. Valet parking made our visit easy and we will most definitely return. Just learned there is a Winchester location, so we look forward to dining there next."

  • "Food was good and service was admirable, but this place is all about the setting - North End, dimmed lighting, painted walls and ceilings. A terrific setting."

  • "Not knowing what I was booking online, I went with an open mind. We were a group of six. We were seated downstairs and when we asked for our table to be moved because it was a little too tight, they moved us without hesitation. All six of us enjoyed our food (gnocchis, fish, chicken, calamari). We had a bit of everything. Even the bread was delicious. Coming from New York where we have many excellent restaurants (with great NY bread), this restaurant was just as good if not better. I would highly recommend it and the next time I visit my daughter in college in Boston I will definitely go back there. I love the North End!!!!"

  • "No bells or whistles but for the "real deal" Italian this is the place. The food was perfect, bringing back my memories of the food I ate in Sicily. Simple, very crowded place that works because of the superb service and fresh and delicious food. From the perfectly cooked and huge shrimp in my scampi to the pasta boloanese with a side of meatballs, veal that was pounded for perfect tenderness or maybe the best cannoli I have ever shared. The food was exactly what our hungry party on a cold winter night needed, service that was brilliantly accurate and prices that were fair . Full bar, small but balanced wine list, linens and candles on the table and a Northend restaurant that honored a reservation and appeared happy to serve us."

  • "Our waitress was very good and always on top of things. She even accommodated our request for a booth on a busy Friday night. We ordered a bottle of wine and one of the glasses spilled, she promptly brought over another full glass at no additional charge. She really made the experience. The food was okay/good. Nothing was bad by any means, just nothing stood out to be exceptional. I would go back but probably stay at the nice (full) bar they have downstairs. We got a drink there before going upstairs to the restaurant and the bartender was great."

  • "It was OK. Food was good, lighting very dark upstairs, waitress had no personality. There are so many restaurants in the North End that I would rather try another restaurant than return to Lucia."

  • "There are so many excellent restaurants in the North End and Lucia's was a delightful find. Went with my 2 college roommates after the Dental Convention and we all loved our meals. Seafood and pasta cooked to perfection and nice atmosphere with great service. Would definitely return to try another dish!"

  • "The Lucia has beautiful painted wall paper on the ceilings and walls that are attractive and unique. The service is excellent but the food is average. My wife had a glass of Zinfadel that was poor and she had to find a substitute. I had a dish with chicken, artichokes, mushrooms in a wine sauce. The chicken was plentiful but the artichokes were limited. The dish was a bit bland. The pasta was a little tough."

  • "Be it their signature veal dishes, seafood or plain old pasta, you cannot beat Lucia to deliver an true Italian delight. The food and service are wonderful and the wine list is not bad...not great, but not bad. A good mix of Italian and California wines. The restaurant is two floors and the main level is a bit crowded -- you could call it romantic and cozy. The upper level is has more room and can accommodate a medium sized party. I have been going to this spot since the mid eighties and when out-of-town guest want to head into Boston for Italian food, this is my first choice. It has never disappointed!"

  • "Was a quiet Tuesday night - service staff was friendly and attentive but nothing special. Entree's were fresh and tasty - good sized portions. Was disappointed they asked for 20 bucks to valet - when there were open parking spaces on the street."

  • "The energy of North End is so much fun. I trusted the recommendation of other Open Table diners and we were not mislead. We were a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant. Our waiter was exceptional and the meals were perfection. We will definitely return."

  • "We have been going to Lucia's for many years and this past Oct. 2013 my Dad passed away so we invited my Mom to dine with us on New Years Eve in memory of him. My Mom had never been to Lucia's and when we left she commented what a very nice time she had, how beautiful the restaurant was, the food was as usual excellent, she said it brought her back to a time when her and Dad were in Italy!!! As for my Wife and I, what more can I say......"excellent" food, atmosphere and romantic and the waitress was such a big help!!!! Thank you to everyone at Lucia's from the bottom of my heart for helping to make this night special for us at a difficult time!!!!"
