On this occasion our fa,ily of six was celebrating our son's 17th birthday. First they attempted to seat us facing the food prep area. This after requesting a seat by the window for this special night. We informed our server it was our sons birthday. He stated that they would bring him a dessert item. When we received our bill (which was well over$200). We were charged $8.00 for the slice of cake they brought him, which we did not order. The host filled us in on the history of the hotel. A peek at the tucked away booth where Mr.Hilton propsed to ZsaZsa Gabor added a bit of history and romance. We shared a mezze plate which was too big for the two of us, but tasty and a relaxing way to begin the meal. I had the sea bass which was cooked perfectly, cripsy tasty on the outside and creamy smooth delicious inside ... didn' t really need any of the sauce or adornment when the fish is that good!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicioso!We enjoyed the scallops and the sea bass. Both were expertly prepared, as if this were a specialty seafood restaurant. We were bragging about our meal to others later in the evening, because every bite was so tasty. I'm going to try to recreate the green chile-apricot chutney that came with the sea bass since that was a great and unique flavor pairing.
I do wish that there were a few more vegetarian options on the main dinner menu. I think there were two entrees on the menu, plus the vegetarian special which is a nod to the environmental goals of Hotel Andaluz. If there were another vegan option, there are a few more people I could invite to join me at Lucia.

This was one of the best restaurants that we tried, and by far the best in Albuquerque. I had Scallops for my entree. I think Scallops are a good indicator of a restaurants quality as they are so frequently overcooked. These were browned on the outside, and delicate and lucious on the inside - not the least bit rubbery. However, given the large parties ahead of us, it was understandable. Overall, the experience was great! We ordered the NM Filet and the NY Strip Steak, and both were prepared exactly to our preference. Lucia utilizes local ingredients, making the food extremely fresh in both appearance and taste. The wait staff, Elizabeth, was hospitable and professional. The 4 course meal was exceptional and both the salmon and flat iron steak were cooked to perfection.
