  • "Live in LI , but tend to eat in New York City, and not aware of too many good local restaurants. So Luce was a pleasant surprise. Dinner was really excellent. Food was very good, comfortable setting and professional service. Music on a Tuesday evening was a nice addition. We will be back."

  • "My girlfriends and I had an easy reservation for a Thursday night. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the food was terrific. I had the branzino alla erbe (35.00) with roasted potatoes which was absolutely delicious and generous enough in size to take a goodie bag home. Two friends had a homemade rigatoni with beef and pork ragu. Delicious and generous portions again. Flourless chocolate cake (shared) for dessert. Overall a lovely, relaxed evening obviously enjoyed by many restaurant regulars. I will become one!"

  • "Food and service here are very good. The hard services reflect a lot of noise that rises as the restaurant fills. Generally, we dine early before the restaurant gets very busy. I find it disconcerting and distracting when the wait staff stands in groups of 4 to 6 chatting near the table. This has happened each time I dined there. Service is very good but it would be better if the servers were less obvious when not occupied."

  • "My Wife and I had heard nice things about this Restaurant. Since it was restaurant week we decided to try it on a Sunday Night. Dominick the owner/manager was both charming and attentive. The choices on the limited menu were limited, however whatever we ordered was very good. The service was a bit slow, however the servers were nice. Looking at their regular menu I noted the choices were excellent but rather pricey. Dominick explained portions were ample and people shared. With the ambiance being nice and the food very good we would likely be back on a special occasion."

The staff was extremely attentive, the Restaurant Week menu offerings were delicious and the ambience was pleasant.   • "The service and food at Luce is fine. It may be that I'm older but I find the almost complete lack of a dress code to be annoying. We came to Luce ,which we consider a special occasion restaurant, on Saturday evening and found the patrons dressed for a burger joint. Our party of 7 had two bottles of modestly priced wine and the bill was well over $500. This is not a pizza place! The last few restaurants we have gone to suffer from the same problem. I guess the clientele force the issue and no one has the guts to have a dress code anymore. "

My only gripe is when I call to book or use open table they give me a 6:30 reservation. Clearly I could have easily arrived at 7:30. There were tables open."

  • "Generous pour on cocktails wine with ample table taste bites & warmed panne, so you don't necessarily have to go with an appetizer (us seniors are not interested in chowing down or are we always interested in taking uneaten courses home). Soups are outstanding and main course really special and generous. Dolce fantastic. Dispite this being New Years Eve and an early dinner service was paced so no one was rushed and staff was very amiable. Never been disappointed after serveral visits. This was previously the home of Restaurante Giarosole."

  • "Luce was yummy~ My app was amazing, Burrata was a perfect temp, (too cold & the ricotta cheese inside firm, too warm and it becomes runny), ripe beefsteak tomatoes & the Prosciutto, imported "Di Parma". My entrée I had the Bronzino, which was deboned tableside perfectly, we also had the Papardelle Bolognese which was not a traditional Pappardelle pasta (flat, thin, wide ribbon, but a lasagna type pasta) still delish and would definitely order it again.The service was very professional, courteous & attentive... My only disappointment would be the interior does not live up to its culinary rank...it needs a more sophisticated and updated décor, but it's definitely not a factor when looking for a great dining experience!"
