we chose it b/c it was near an off B'way show were were seeing. The food was unremarkable , however the service was pretty good. I would not go out of my way to return. The crowd was mainly older.

It's a very nice Italian spot, a short stroll up Broadway from Lincoln Center, so it's ideal for pre-or post-show meals. We got there fairly early, but even so, our server and staff were friendly, helpful and on the ball. The Italian food isn't particularly fancy but it's very tasty, and quite reasonable considering the location. We'll definitely be back.

I chose Luce (lu-chay) since it is close to the Lincoln Square movie theatres and Lincoln Center with a convenient metro stop. The service is excellent with professional Italian servers who are attentive but do not hover. We spent an hour and a half enjoying a leisurely dinner and never felt rushed by the staff. I had the veal with porcini mushrooms which was excellent. Wished they had a veal picatta. It seems to be a habit that I mentally redecorate restaurants and Luce could use an uplift by changing the art and painting the nicely arched ceiling an interesting color and perhaps adding curved accent molding to spring from the Corinthian capitals, but, all in all, our experience there was really good.

Luce restaurant was very nice, tables were not too crowded together so very comfortable. We had a large group, with some running late, and we were heading to a show. The staff was very accommodating, pleasant and attentive. The food was good, though some of the guests expected something different than what they received but nobody said they didn't like their choice. I had the Black Linguini dish and I thought it was delicious.

My wife and I were going to meet someone we hadn't seen in a while, and then go to the opera with her. We needed the right kind of place: fine food, sophisticated setting, and above all quiet. This old friend speaks softly, and the wrong place would have ruined the occasion. But everything was perfect. The pasta dishes were just right for an early dinner; mine, a pasta with duck, was a standout. Then the check came, and that was something of a surprise. I hadn't been keeping track, but the total was extremely reasonable. I've paid more on regular occasions elsewhere and had less to remember. I'll be back to Luce for sure.

Luce is an italian menu place near Lincoln Center that I go to frequently. The menu is broad with choices for all, and daily specials. Food is consistently well prepared and the service consistently good and efficient. It can get crowded and noisy when there are many groups, as is often the case, but i find the food worth putting up with that.

This is the second monthly wine dinner we attended and the Italian cuisine center was Capri. as usual the food was inventive and delicious and enough choices (3-4) per course to satisfy any diner. Compared to last months wine dinner that we attended, the wine was initially slow in coming. Can't wait for the next wine dinner--the menus are interesting and fun to try.

Luce is one of my favorites for pre-opera dining. The service is prompt and friendly, the menu offers just the right number of options, with a few specials. Salads are exactly what the menu description promises. Pastas are al dente and generous. There's a good wine list with a range of prices, and the setting is quiet, elegant but casual and European in flavor. The quality is very consistent, and they'll get you out in time to make your curtain without ever feeling rushed.

We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate an anniversary in NYC. Actually, we didn't. It was a gift from friends, both the meal and the recommendation. The staff, the service, the food, the experience - all top notch. I had the filet mignon and it was utterly exquisite. The asparagus wrapped in prosciutto appetizers were superb. This is a site to pass on to friends. A short walk from Times Square leads to a culinary discovery, satisfied dining, and personalized service. A NYC Gem.

I've come here to eat for about 5 years and have introduced many others to it. Eating outside here is pretty and interesting, watching the Broadway pedestrian scene. Very pretty at night. Inside it's not so attractive -- clean and adequate but sort of dim and uninteresting. (Fewer tables and sexier lighting? Not my field.) -- I stick to the pasta, which is very good; my friends like their other food too. -- Their location is their biggest plus for us, because for us it's a very nice, ordinary, inexpensive place to go before or after Lincoln Center or the Loews/Imax.

to Luce. Quite busy for a summer Monday night. The best salmon I have EVER tasted, and I am no salmon aficionado. Waiter Juan ordered it "medium-well" when I had requested "well"; he knew that what I thought I wanted would be too dry! H's seafood black linguine fra diavolo was not too spicy. Both portions were too large for us and taken home for Tuesday's dinner. My H's first dinner out after major back surgery felt leisurely but took only 55 min. as we had asked. Stop asking for our opinions: people will think that we have a financial or personal interest in the restaurant!

The service, ambiance, and food quality was very good. Our group of four couples had a delightful afternoon lunch until the bill came. I requested four separate checks on Open table with our reservation. This request was verified with a reservation confirming phone call before lunch and again by our waiter before service. The waiter finished his shift and our service was taken over by a new waiter who presented us with a single check. He had no knowledge of the request and refused to reconfigure the bill. He offered to divide the check by four for payment which was unacceptable but finally agreed to. It spoiled a delightful afternoon lunch.

by the # of times we dine at Luce's when in town. The menu and daily specials are varied;it is easy to find attractive selections.I usually spot an appetizer & an entrée that I want and don't want to be "deprived" of either so I bring a portion of each home. Recently I had 2 soft shell crabs sautéed with garlic over spinach:LUSCIOUS. My H's mushroom risotto was PERFECTLY prepared, al dente,& very tasty. Our attentive, experienced waiter Matteo again made our visit special. Dorian, the manager, had our William Hill Napa cab slightly chilled upon our arrival. Dorian provides the leadership that makes Luce so popular. He WORKS, helping his staff, as his eyes scan constantly looking for who needs what when. SERVICE COMES FIRST thanks to Dorian.

Efficient service, delicious food, superb location for Lincoln Center dining, great management under Dorian, William Hill cab of which we are very fond. Even the bread is REALLY good with firm crust outside, meaty but light inside. We have introduced dozens of friends to Luce who return and return themselves.

From the bread to the William Hill cab (the wine of Lincoln Center that we can't find anywhere else nearby), we always enjoy dining at Luce. Dorian, manager, is "on top" of everything with relaxed efficiency and attentiveness. Service is outstanding yet unobtrusive. Bread and spread are delicious. I can't resist the sautéed mushrooms (side) as an appetizer. Pasta is cooked al dente and perfectly. The chef will vary his creations to suit your desires. Servings are sizeable and plated prettily. You can dine in 30 minutes or 3 hours depending on your needs; the entire staff will accommodate. The seafood salad equals that of Naples (Italy). Had soft shell crabs last visit that were divine. H's fav is pasta with mussels & clams in white sauce.
