Diner Reviews
  • "The pastas here are really good. Quality of the food in general is high and the place is very nice and not too noisy or crazy. Prices reflect its location near Lincoln Center, unfortunately. If it was a little more reasonable we'd go more often."

  • "My husband and I have had dinner at Luce many times. The food is consistently good and the prices reasonable. In season, they have a sidewalk area as well. It is a small restaurant so we usually make reservations. That being said, I do not love the placement of some of the tables for two - they are too close together (but no different from many other Manhattan restaurants)."

  • "Just a short walk from Lincoln center. First time there eating inside. We love the sidewalk in Spring/Summer. Usually eat there during ABT season and have a great brunch. Now find that dinner inside is just as good. Good wine list by the glass. And drinks before dinner are a good deal--both quality and quantity. LP"

  • "Three times a charm! Having been in the are several times for performances at LaGuardia HS, we stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. Wonderful off beat Italian menu, no chicken parm here!!! Portions are ample, prices fair, service impeccable. Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed!!"

  • "Four of us went there for a pre-show dinner at Lincoln Centre. We all ordered something different and without exception were all very satisfied with our appetizers, main courses and deserts. This does not happen very often. Staff was gracious and we were not rushed at all. The tab was also quite reasonable and this put us in a great frame of mind to go out and watch the show."

  • "Luce is my favorite restaurant in the Lincoln Center area. It is quite relaxing pre-theater. The food is always good, as is the service. the prices are reasonable for the area. I LOVE the chicken sopreze--breast of chicken on the bone pounded thin with a delicious brown sauce and lots of good-al dente- fresh vegetables. Their fish dishes are also quite good. We usually share a salad to start. Sometimes we've had the mussels, which is wonderful as an entree. biscotti is served with coffee; but my favorite dessert is the pear poached in red wine and served with zabaglione. Wine by the glass is also reasonable and there is a nice choice of reds."

  • "A very good traditional northern Italian menu which does not attempt to be at the cutting edge (a good thing) but serves fresh and well prepared food. Prompt and friendly service, not hushed but not so noisy you can't have a conversation. Convenient to Lincoln Center and to the movies."

  • "Luce is a nice place for a date. It's a place where you go if you want to feel special; management makes you feel right at home with the warm greet and meet. The service was good and I would invite anyone to go to Luce. It's beautiful in the summer to sit out and have lunch/dinner. The food is good too, but I wouldn't recommend you order a steak from Luce."

  • "We were there as a group of 6 including 1 child and 1 infant. The staff was very accommodating with excellent service and very good food. Our table selections included pasta, chicken, and fish. All of the dishes were very good. My wife especially enjoyed the red snapper."

  • "I have found my new favorite. I spend a lot of time going to concerts in Lincoln Center, and frankly I find most of the restaurants, even the 5 star ones, pretty average. So cut your losses and go to Luce. Great service, they are on top of everything. I've had salmon and a filet there and both were excellent."

  • "This was our second time there. We came for dinner before the opera. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzi, available by the glass, is fantastic! I had the pappardelle with lamb ragu which was fresh and excellent, and the tiramisu and cappuccino was a great way to cap the meal. Service was excellent. We arrived at 6pm, so we were there before it got crowded so our service was perfect."

  • "We were pleased with the experience. The pasta special of the day, homemade pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe, was really great. The chicken cutlet was fine, wine was a good value and the people were very nice. We will be back, as it's a tough neighborhood for a reasonably priced low key place."

  • ".Walking by Luce on my way home from work, I decided to make myself a reservation. I couldn't of been happier with my decision. Everything was excellent from the service to the food! I can't get the ravioli out of  my head and the tiramisu  we had for dessert was out of this world! I will definitely be returning!"

  • "My daughter and I dined at Luce Restaurant & Enoteca the other night because it was conveniently located to Lincoln Center. We will go back because it was terrific. Our waiter was very attentive (as were the rest of the staff) and the food was delicious. Thanks!"

  • "We had the carpaccio appetizer as well as the shrimp and bay scallops appetizer and both were delicious! Main course featured a delicious veal dish but we also had the linguine with salmon that was extremely salty!!! Place was adorable but we were three in a corner table so one person looked at the wall which was disappointing."

  • "Simply Divine!. I went here with my bf on a Saturday  and what a treat! The place itself is so charming and cozy. Kinda makes you feel like you stopped in at a friend's house for dinner. The menu was great  from the antipasto to the molten chocolate  desert. I will definitely be going back for my birthday in a couple of weeks .I highly recommend e The service was amazing, even though the night was busy the matre'd and server were super attentive. "

  • "Pleasantly surprised as there were some bad reviews from Yelp but turned out to be untrue in our case when we went for Sunday brunch. Promptly seated, great food arrived right away, and repeatedly asked if we needed anything else and if Everything was to or liking. Will definitely return. Excellent location."

  • "My wife and I tried this place on a wednesday night. We were greeted at the door by the friendly manager and shown to our table. Our server explained the six specials and then let us peruse the menu. I ended up getting the sea bass and my wife got a pasta special. Both were amazing. I've never had Italian food like this before. It was kept simple and fresh. I will one hundred percent come back to this place, hands down."

  • "What a lovely restaurant. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful dinner there With the manager's recommendation I had the pasta with the duck ragu. It had to be the best pasta I have ever had. Not only was the food was excellent but the service and the atmosphere of the restaurant were a joy. I don't know what it is like for lunch but if you want a lovely, comfortable meal at dinnertime, I strongly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Less hectic, less expensive, smaller than better known Lincoln Center Area restaurants a couple of blocks south. Luce is just north of the AMC Movie Theater on Broadway. Warm and inviting on a cold windy Sunday after seeing morning movie. Good drinks and wine by the glass. Asparagus with prosciutto was paired with roasted red peppers. Veal scallopine with wine, lemon and caper sauce was very good. Chicken served over salad also was enjoyed. Gelato and sorbet can be mixed and nicely are served in separate dishes. Also like Luce for pre-evening performances at Lincoln Center. When Spring returns Luce beckons with refreshing indoor/outdoor dining."

  • " I recently moved to the Upper west side and this restaurant is about a block away. They have some of the best homemade pasta and sauces that we've ever had. The service is incredible. And the atmosphere is authentically European. I am in love with this perfect Italian restaurant and I will  be revisiting often!"

  • "Food was OK, they changed the ingredients from what was listed in dish on menu...Not a fan of that sort of thing! Felt pressured - like they wanted us to leave, even though the restaurant was empty. Service was not with a smile :( Was good for a quiet place for a business meeting. Maybe dinner is better, but if you want your dish as described on the menu, I would make sure to specify that!! Probably would NOT go back. To bad, GREAT location, easy parking..."

Always a great time with excellent food .great service and fantastic matre'd.At times it will get crowded, but we're not living in NYC for the quiet. They always have great specials and a lively atmosphere. Regarless of whether it is a group or just two, Luce will not dissapoint."
