Food was great but need to let diners know what they are paying so they don't get sticker shock when the bill comes."

  • "Everything was great, from drinks to dessert, however while not totally the restaurants fault our section had the misfortune of having a 6 top of older women who were inappropriately loud. Their cackling laughter resulted in several tables to move. I know it is a fine line for the management to allow patrons to enjoy themselves, but when several tables enjoyment is affected they should have stepped in...resulting me in turning around and lighting them up a bit. Nothing better than a $ 38 osso bucco with 50 something women screaming like they are at a lunch table in elementry school. Other than that - this place is fantastic."

  • "Before we even entered the building, the Hostess was waving at smiling at us. Everyone else that we encountered that night had the same friendliness and service focus. Each of us (we were 4) had something different for appetizers, entrees and desserts--everything was phenominal. I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had."

  • "The good visual impression, with views of the skyline and the bridges would have been more romantic after dark. The menu offered unusual, attractive choices. Everything was well-prepared and appealing. Mussels were fresh and delicious. Bread was too good to avoid. Entrees, veal milanese and grilled salmon, were very good, but I regret not choosing the wild boar osso bucco. Caprese salad was weaker due to an out-of-season tomato. Pistachio gelato was outstanding. Servers were friendly, knowledgable, efficient. Our only slight disappointment was that when I made the reservation I specified we would be celebrating our 46th anniversary, and there was no recognition of that, but that's a bit of a quibble. We will be back."

  • "Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were immediately impressed. What a location! And the ambiance and decor did not disappoint. However, the evening soon went downhill, and due to the poor service and lackluster food, we will not be returning to Luca. Once our drink order was taken, it took 25 minutes to arrive at the table. The order wasn't expedited until I flagged down a different waitress. Our appetizers, despite the wait, were above average. However, it took another 30 minutes (upon completion of the appetizers) for our pasta to arrive. My gnocchi dish resembled footballs in taste and texture, and the bolognese was exceedingly average. Comped dessert tastes less sweet when a dismissive waitress delivers--avoid this restaurant."

  • "How about a romantic evening, with great wine, great food and amazing dessert. They even had a gentleman singing that sounded like Frank Sinatra. This was a perfect anniversary evening. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was amazing, and the Lobster Ravioli was insane. The Pistachio Gelato and Carmel Salted Cheese Cake topped off a perfect evening. Thanks a million."

  • "They must have over-booked the restaurant the night we went. We had our reservations for over a month & a half, and ended up at a table that was basically not even in the restaurant & the table wobbled (many of the tables had this problem, and the servers went around crawling under tables putting napkins under the table feet). We were completely ignored & had to literally chase people down to get anything we ordered (or to even place our order). It took over 20 minutes just to place our drink order, and the rest of the night did not get any better. Our server did not even find his abnormal. She was supposed to check on a question about the menu, and never came back. We waited forever for our food, and did not even get all of our food."

  • "This is the old space formerly inhabited by Ponte Vecchio. It is a bit hidden but has a loverly wrap-around window set up so almost all of the table have a view of either the downtown skyline and/or Detroit and Carnegie bridges and Flats. We started with the carpaccio and mozzarella di bufalo, and speck appetizers. My friend got the stuff trout special which sounded nice but I don't do fish, so I passed. I got the gnocchi and was a bit disappointed as the sauce was much spicier than I would expect from a "homemade tomato sauce" and the mozzarella wasn't very well distributed across the plate. We were too full for dessert. Overall, it's a nice space and the kitchen seems better than Ponte Vecchio's was."

  • "Enjoyed the mussels and cocktails for happy hour, then dinner from the Restaurant week menu. Bean soup was very flavorful, the salad was very fresh and perfectly dressed, the pasta (both the pappardelle and the tortellini) was also very good. We would definitely go again and recommend to others. Can be a little loud but we could still have a conversation - and, one reason it was loud, I think was due to the fact that they were BUSY! And that is a good sign. Service was still very attentive."

  • "We went last night for Cleveland Restaurant Week and were very pleased. We were seated immediately at a nice, big table right in a window nook with a view of downtown and the river. There was a set menu, 3 courses for $30, for restaurant week so we shared soup/salad for starters, I had the prosciutto wrapped salmon and my boyfriend had the veal tortellini for mains, and we split the tiramisu and chocolate mousse for dessert. They also bring out a good portion of bread with a mixture of olive oil + herbs for dipping. (A segment from my Yelp review)"

Set in a quiet corner of the Flats the restaurant offers style, charm and romance. The food is varied yet very Italian. We ordered Wild Boar and Squid Ink Ravioli w/ Shrimp. Both dishes were astounding in their taste and presentation. The staff was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and prompt. Bon Apitite!"

Embedded within the bridges of Cleveland, Luca beckons diners to appreciate the city's industrial heritage, rejoice in its downtown living choices and hail yet another example of Cleveland's growing reputation as a foodie's paradise. And that's just the impression before entering the restaurant! The decor is strictly NYC, the ambiance radiates warmth, even in the depths of Cleveland's worst winter in decades, and the food delights. We had a fish selection (barzini, deboned expertly at table) and pasta bolognese (made with boar that even my non-foodie partner loved), a fabulous bottle of malbec and a light chocolate mousse served in dark chocolate mini-cups. Can't wait to return."

  • "Luca provided a great dinner for our group, from the appetizers through to the dessert. Even after a small miscommunication between the server and one of the members of our group, they quickly made it right. They were very knowledgable about the food and wine, even pointing out when what we ordered was not the same that you would find in most other restaurants (the calamari here is not heavily breaded and fried). We appreciated the warning because if we were expecting our calamari to be like that, then it could have caused an unpleasant experience. Overall, it was a great evening."

  • "The place is located in a nice exclusive area. Customer service was excellent from the valet outside to the manager that came out to ask us were we enjoying our meal. We felt welcomed. The food was excellent! Lovely romantic setting. I need to take my fiancé to be to a nice elegant , exclusive restaurant (no Applebee's or iHop) and Luca delivered! We'll be back soon."

  • "Everything was excellent except one of our meals We ordered the filet, a $40 dinner med rare And it came very over cooked. They apologized took it back , when the second steak came out it was more well done than the first one. Meanwhile we went out for a romantic dinner and my husband ate his dinner while I watched We like the restaurant and have been there with the previous owner we will give them another try"

  • "This was our first time under the new name and management and we were super impressed with the food. I had the Bufala Mozzarella appetizer and it may have been better cheese than I had in Italy.. I also had the Tortellini and it was fantastic. Some of the best food I've eaten in months. The service didn't get us right away. Once we had a waitress, all was fine, very attentive and appropriately interactive. It took 3 tries to get the bill right -- first an extra $70 (which should have been obvious with dinner for two) and then a $10 charge that wasn't ours. The place was a bit noisy but, thankfully, not too noisy to make it difficult to carry on a conversation. These issues were totally outweighed by the great food. We'll be back."
