It was very very good. Good selection of creative dishes (wild boar past was superb). The caramel sauce for the almond cake was worthy of a visit itself. Wine list is extensive and well priced. My party of four thoroughly enjoyed the evening from the friendly greeting and thereafter. Complimentary proseco and amuse bouche started out a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and the wine pairing done by the Sommelier was perfection! Luca is not cheap. I was disappointed with the service for the level of price that you pay. Our waiter was not very friendly. It was at least ten minutes from when we were seated to when he came over to our table. He never introduced himself and I felt like we were a burden to him rather than valued customers. The poor service is what kept this from being a five star review. I feel like I'm anyplace but Denver. It's like walking into a great neighborhood place in Paris or Rome. I love that they are always consistent. My only "argh" is portion size. I dont mind the prices. But too many little tiny bits start grating a bit. The "little bite" to start with is always delicious but seriously.. almost embarasing it is soooooo tiny... and the tiny tiny delicious cookies at the end? I love em! But.. if you want to serve me a cookie at least make it as big as a vanilla wafer! I tried the chefs 6 course tasting menu.. The restaurant had a set menu for the evening and it was awesome. The meal was perfectly paced and the attention we received was steady and professional. We opted for the wine pairing for each course, and the wines chosen were just right each time (and the sommellier had a lot of knowledge about Italy's crazy wine scene - not easy to do!).
