Chef Frank Bonanno dug into his Sicilian heritage and east coast roots to create this authentic Italian Eatery.   • "A nice place to be with good food. Don't be thirsty for wine or a cocktail because it might take forever to get one. Or more. If your server ever shows up, try to get all your business done in one fell swoop because he may never return, or if he does it is a "drive by" as if he's on roller skates. And it seems that he doesn't have a name, or it would take too long to tell you. It did seem that the rest of the people at Luca would have been quite helpful, but we just had bad luck that day."

Our server was outstanding and very patient (knowledgeable about the food and wine, good-natured about a very discerning diner in our group, not begrudging our party the chance to linger over coffee/dessert though it was just about closing time, etc.). For the most part, the food was delicious, though the dessert (tiramisu, a should-be slam dunk for an Italian joint) was sadly mediocre. The entrees were all delicious. There were limited options for the vegetarian in our party, but the restaurant was kind about it (bringing a meat-free amuse bouche and offering to consult the chef if any of the menu offerings weren't appealing)- much appreciated! I'd certainly recommend for a nice [adult] meal. Mille grazie!"

The menu was interesting and allowed you to be very inventive either by turning the evening over to the chef with six course tasting menu orchestrated daily. Or by indulging in a 4 course tasting menu off the menu or by just going a la carte. We went a la carte and everything we had was prepared beautifully, was fresh and delicious. Clean plates all around. The weakest course was dessert...but still pretty tasty. Will definitely return..."

  • "Visiting Denver on business, I was told Luca's was the place. It was simply wonderful. The no-frills decor and off-the-beaten-path location were the only nods to the ordinary. We indulged in the four course, prix fixe choices with the suggested wine pairings. The balanced infusion of meats and flavors in the bolognese & meatballs testify to an old-country, day-long dedication to both pasta and sauces. The scallops were cooked to tender perfection. The bread pudding wrapped it up with sweet, light deliciousness. The service mirrored the food. The waitress had a subtle command of the menu and her timing. The sommelier was as approachable as his inspired choices: knowledgeable, earnest, and funny. Just go to Luca D'Italia! "

It is definitely not your regular Italian food but the dishes were amazing! We would suggest ordering the four course pre fixe menu and sharing if you are out for a date night. It gives you the opportunity to try multiple dishes in one sitting. We each order different dishes and shared so we were able to try 8 total dishes. Great atmosphere, service and food!"

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and detailed oriented. The hostess invited us in, took our jackets, and quickly seated us. The GM, Jim, introduced us to the wine list and took our cocktail order. They had a very unique wine that I have not seen on a menu in years. Sarah, our server, was excellent. We chose the 4 course tasting menu. I would highly recommend it. Their food is exceptional. The braised meatballs and hazeldell mushrooms were our two favorites. The valet was even prompt and friendly. Since it was snowing, we stood inside Vesper Lounge and were greeted by another friendly host."

  • "Course servings very good, properly prepared, sharply presented . Octopus with sausage excellent, as was boar and tasty lentils. Red & yellow beets not as crisp with flavor …perhaps a little over-cooked. Service excellent... seamless & unobtrusive. Waitress gave knowledgeable assistance making selections from the menu. The wine steward made nice selections for us. I did observe the steward step away from a table with a glass of poured wine ( a little full) and then pour some of the wine from that glass back into the bottle! This is not too kosher a procedure… if ever…but especially where it might be plainly visible to diners. Probably one of those moments of lapsed attention because otherwise we were happy with our experience."
