Maybe they were just off their game because of the super cold weather. The restaurant came highly recommended by several different friends, but we weren't particularly impressed. But, because it was our first time visit, we were intrigued enough that we will try it again. First, prices are a tad higher than other restaurants of equal quality, so that leads to an expectation of something special, but not this night. The mixed seafood appetizer was missing one of the ingredients, but still good with the calamari and shrimp. No explanation why the fish was missing. The grouper special ordered by three in our group was OK, but all said they wish they'd ordered something else. My lobster ravioli was excellent--highly recommend it.

Surprisingly, there are very few restaurants of this overall level in The Woodlands. I went for the Sunday Brunch (which open table lists at $30 but it is actually $35). Usually, brunch food that self-serve is a bit lower in quality than the standard menu. But the food was excellent. If you like chocolate croissants, try their version of the pastry, you will not be disappointed.

Don't order the steak! This place is hit or miss - not the first time I've been there. First experience was nice, so we returned. This time? Not so much. Great location, beautiful view, awesome wait staff, disappointing food. Our steaks were just not flavorful. Filet was tender, rib eye had great marble (but quite a bit of gristle) -- just not up to a fine steakhouse quality. If you want a steak, visit Fleming's, Kirby's or even Perry's. If you want romance and ambiance - this is a nice place for wine and drinks -- even appetizers. I suggest it may be just an 'off' night, when my husband doesn't eat all his meal- there is something wrong Note: Even the sides were not spectacular - spinach parmegiana and parmesan mashed potatoes.

The good was really good. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The osso bucco was some of the best I have had. It was so tender and the reduction it was served with added a whole new level of flavor. The merengue dessert is light and has so many delicious textures. Perfect as always for the end of the meal. Also, the service was very attentive and spot on the whole evening. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.

When we got there we waited at the hostess stand for several minutes. Finally, my husband had to track someone down to help us be seated. Once the host seated us he said he would be back with some water. We sat there for at least 10 minutes with no menus, no drinks. Mind you the place had just opened 10 minutes prior so they were not getting slammed. I didn't want to wait any longer so we got up and left. To the defense of the restaurant they did call and apologize for the experience. The girl that called said there was an accident and they were short staffed. I understand that things happen but the host maybe should have mentioned something to that effect when being seated. They offered us a dining certificate for which we did not take.

I very recently took my wife here for our first anniversary dinner, and we were not disappointed at all. I made not of the special occasion when reserving the table, and they had a nice little anniversary card and special flowers waiting for us, and they provided a free desert as well. We sat outside, so we could watch the water way, listen to the music, and breath the nice night air (glad it was perfect that night). The food was quite delicious, and ready rather quickly. Our waitress was attentive and very personable. All in all an awesome experience.

Our evening got off to the wrong start even before we were seated. The hostess was talking, flirting, with a guy at the bar and did not pay attention to the front door. When we finally asked to be seated, there was no apology. We have dined here several times. But have always come away disappointed.

17 year anniversary dinner ordered the Lobster Bisque to share with the wife and also the Lobster Ravioli, the sauce on the Ravioli was the same as the Bisque. Rather disapointed in that both foods share the same thing in common. Although the raviolis were outstanding and cooked perfectly but for the resturant I would have expected much better than that. They did remove the Ravioli from the ticket. Overall it was a nice place and food was good. The meat and cheese tray was a home run!!!!!

This ranks as one of our greatest dining experiences we have had. The view over the Waterway along with the lighting and water falls amounted to one of the most romantic experiences available in the Houston area and when you top it off with the menu Specials we ordered and our service (Jeff was the BEST) the evening could not have been any better. Luca & leonardo's should be on everyone's list for their special occasion.

We had dinner here last night. I made a note that it was my wife's birthday. Arrived and were seated promptly at a table with a Waterway view, very nice. There was a birthday card on the table for my wife, nice surprise. We had the tomato bisque to start and it was delicious. My wife had the Arribiatta, and I had the surf and turf special of the day. During the meal they brought my wife a long stemmed rose and again wished her a Happy Birthday. After the meal, they comped us a wonderful dessert, Merengatta. It was absolutely delicious. This place is very nice inside, comfortable and cozy, with wonderful views of the Waterway. The staff is fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for a special occasion.

This is a nice restaurant with great views and great service. The owner even comes by to say hello and check on you. I ordered salmon, it was just okay. My husband ordered the special that night which was lobster and steak. The lobster had absolutely no taste. Overall, not impressed with the food (which is very pricey), but ambiance and service are great.

Luca and Leonardo is a wonderful quaint Italian restaurant with great ambiance and excellent authentic Italian food. Claudia, the owner greets you warmly and makes sure you feel welcome. The service is excellent and you don't have to ask for anything; the wait staff watch and know before you do what you need next. The salads are quite large and fresh, crisp, tasty. The boule braise was rich, full of seafood, with flavors woven in...permeating each spoonful. Really yummy! The spaghetti vongole was chocked full of clams with a delicate garlic butter sauce . Each bite full of aromatic juices that you must use the bread to soak up every last drop. Save room for dessert.....the chocolate torte was amazing! large enough to share .

We had a lovely time and enjoyed the special touches (a rose and a note and a special dessert) that the staff at Luca and Leonardo added to make our special evening even more special. We enjoyed browsing the menu while sipping our wine selection. Both entrees were nicely prepared: the fettucine for him and the penne for her. The waitstaff were pleasant, efficient, and not too hovering. We will be pleased to return.

This is one of the most authenic Italian places in the metro area. My friend and I are frequent travellers to Italy and this place always seems to please. The food is fresh and cooked to almost perfection. The pasta is not over or undercooked. The sauce is is not canned with a tin or metallic taste. It always tastes like vegatables, seafood, and herbs. Iwas also like to mention the atmosphere is alive and adults. The place has a hip slightly older scene and is not full of loud cackling teenagers or crying babies. Thank goodness.

Luca and Leonardo is the kind of restaurant I wish I could love. It is beautiful inside and out and has a prime location on the Waterway in The Woodlands. I arranged to have dinner there for my friend's bachelorette party. Although the individuals who tried to help serve us were friendly, it was apparent that there was no one in charge. I called to change my reservation, which was approved, but not logged in the system. We had to wait several minutes even though we had a reservation. We waited at the bar but no one would serve us. Then when we were seated the table was wrong and we didn't see a server for nearly 20 minutes. I was embarrassed that I had chosen Luca and felt that I had made a poor choice for my party, which was only 8 girls

My salad was a good size and the piece of salmon on top was very good. Others felt their meals were not as large as they would have liked. Waiter was hard to understand, hostess was very welcoming. Tables were fairly close together, get a window seat, the view is quite nice. Prices are on the high side.

This is my second time at Luca for the Sunday brunch buffet. It was as good as it was the first time. The food was great, the bottomless mimosas are a great deal. Service was outstanding and the manager was walking around checking on tables so we felt like we were treated with alot of attention. My only gripe is the music. The first time we went they were playing an great mix of motown which is perfect for a Sunday morning brunch. This time around they had some sort of upbeat electronic music. It was kind of annoying. Hopefully they can get that mellow motown back the next time we visit Luca.
