Dinner at Luc made me feel like I was back in Paris, at a small neighborhood bistro. The food was spot-on, the lighting low and atmospheric; even the 2-top table crowded into the corridor was just like I remember it in Paris. I will definitely return next time I need a Franco-fix.

The food was delicious. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, the chocolate caramel cake was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The only real downside was how noise carried in the space - I felt like I had to yell to my dining partner the entire two hours we were there.

I chose Luc for dinner for four, it was my husband's birthday and our best friends' 1 year anniversary dinner. We loved the ambiance, the food was incredible. The service was great and it was such a fun spot. Not too much noise, and family friendly while still being a suitable place for a very adult dinner. I would love to go back!

From appetizer to desert, we had a great meal with everyone commenting that we'd all be back. Two notable dishes were the wild boar and the steak--awesome. The soup du jour, a cream of celery/potato with walnuts was also very good. When we visited on a Friday night, the floor was little crowded, so look for a booth.

My friend and I went to LUC for SRW. The restaurant has a very cozy and energetic atmosphere. I haven't really dined in a French restaurant before and LUC set a high bar for future French restaurants. I started with the soup du jour, which turned out to be a soup made of corn and lobster mushrooms. It tasted rich but it wasn't overwhelming. The braised lamb leg was perfect! The ratatouille and the mashed potato that came with the lamb was spectacular! I think the only thing that wasn't WOW was the butterscotch creme brulee. I mean it was good but I've definitely had better. The service was friendly but just a bit slow. Also, our waitress spoke a bit too fast for us to comprehend what she was saying. But overall, I had an amazing time!

Luc provides a more varied menu that most other French restaurants in the Seattle area, and their Boeuf Bourguignon made with Kobe has to be the highlight. The Dijon Pork Chop is huge, tender and perfectly prepared. While creme brulee is missing from the desert menu, the Peach Melba and Chocolate Pôt de Crème are absolutely delicious. Most of the menu are reminscent of Paris, and the wine list provides wide choice. A full meal for 2 may run a little over $100, with one drink each, but for the taste, ambience, and service, you won't find better in greater Seattle. My major kudos to a particular Kiwi (?) waiter, who was kind, timely, helpful, and forgiving of my poor French pronounciation. The only negative was a rowdy party of six nearby.

I've now dined at Luc's 3 or 4 times, living within about a 10-minute drive of the restaurant. Wow. They do a great job. The Salad Lyonnaise is a standout, and the chicken confit is outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The menu is not extensive, but everything I've tried has been of excellent quality. Very good value for the quality of the food. Low-key bistro ambiance.

Went for a special occasion with my family. Seated by the open kitchen area, with quite a bit of smoke and cooking aromas in our table area as a result. Food was quite outstanding, liked everything that we ordered. Service was attentive. We will return in the future, maybe to sit outside on a nice evening.

After receiving two recommendations about this restaurant, we decided to give a try. It was a great dinner in every way. The boeuf bourguignon was the best I've ever had. Paired with a perfect gem salad, it made for a wonderful meal. Our friend had the clams and she pronounced them wonderful. My husband had the pasta and loved it--said it was very simple and light, but tasty. We went early on a Saturday and the restaurant filled up quickly with a lively, mixed age crowd. It was truly one of the best restaurant dinners we've had in ages. We'll definitely be back.

My daughter and I visited Luc this weekend on Saturday. The restaurant was energized but not wild. The service was extremely friendly. In fact, I had made a mistake about my reservation day and that was happily changed to Saturday night at a peak dining hour without a problem. The food was excellent. I would say that it was French Bistro with a Northwest touch, such as ceder plank Salmon. The menu is varied and my daughter and I had difficulty in making our choices because so many items looked too good to pass up. This means that we will definitely return!

My wife and I had never visited Luc, and when we came in at 6 PM we were surprised to find it mostly full and people spilling out onto the patio tables. We sat at the kitchen bar and absorbed a lesson in French cooking while we ate. The menu is remarkably large and diverse for a smallish place, and I saw several things I had seen in France but not in the U.S. (at least Seattle). My cassoulet came with house-made sausage and duck confit. The white beans were perfectly done, if few in number. My wife's seafood dish was excellent. All the portions are small, which I'm sure helps hold down the price. As is often the case, the Washington wines were well-chosen and a better value than the French. Our waiter seemed a little overworked.

I've dined at this restaurant three times in the past few months, and it has been consistently excellent. The frisee salad with lardons is decadently wonderful. I've had seafood on past visits (great salmon), but on this visit chose the chicken confit. I was delighted with my choice. For the outstanding quality of the food, the price is fairly reasonable. I would strongly recommend.

Our whole family (including 3 teenagers) loves this place and we usually choose it for birthday dinners. The trout almondine was indescribably spectacular and I'm normally not a big trout fan. Also, not too much salt in the food, unlike other restaurants these days that feel the need to oversalt for some reason. I would highly recommend Luc!

Luc is a vibrant French bistro-style restaurant in the Madison Valley. Service is top-notch as is the food. The most difficult aspect is deciding what to order when you know everything will be expertly prepared. The hamburger, probably the lowest priced item on the menu, is to die for and i regularly crave the frites. Reasonable prices for the type of restaurant. Limited, well-thought wine selections. If you're looking for quiet or an encyclopedic wine selection you might want to look elsewhere.

Went here this week. I felt a little rushed from the service perspective which is why I gave it 3 stars. The food was good but the menu was a bit limited and slanted toward the heavy side or the casual dining side. I was surprised that there was only one seafood offering and that was the nightly special. It was salmon and I don't usually order that out because I eat enough of it at home. M y wife did get it and it was very good.

The bit too loud is coming from an older person who isn't crazy about the new acoustics in restaurants. We were in luck, since there were no parties larger than two in our area. I do like the food here and the service is always excellent as well. Luc's is one of my favorites (tho the Dahlia is my all-time favorite to put things in perspective). A bit high in the price arena, but against comparable restaurants. I like Luc's quite a lot.
