Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed our dinner and the service immensely. We loved our British waiter - he was very attentive and was able to respond to our various questions with aplomb and wit. Yet, very respectful, knowledgeable and kind."

  • "We've been here twice and will be back again -- a regular stop when in Seattle. The food is extremely well prepared, and the prix fixe menu is right-on. The choices are excellent and the price is realistic. And the paired wine flight matches the entrees, no matter which you choose."

  • "Never been to rovers and thought this would live up to expectations for traditional French bistro fare. Other than the souffle potato crisps and the chicken liver mousse (which had an amazing cherry gelee), the linguine duck confit, steak frites and pork chops were just average. Not worth a 2nd visit in my book as there are lots of other way better french bistro choices."

  • "Everything we ordered was high quality and tasted wonderful. We've now been there twice, and will keep coming back."

  • "I was very please with the atmosphere and service. I got a seat in the back that had a view of the kitchen and the delightful smells that accompanied it. Everything was delicious. I love the use of seasonal fruit and ingredients. To make it even better the Price was great as well. This little gem is worth the drive no matter where in the greater Seattle area you may reside."

  • "While this is a neighborhood gem, we drive from our neighborhood just to come spend time at Lucs. The food is amazingly fresh and natural with tons of flavor. Our favorite part of our experience is the staff. From the second you walk in the door they make you feel like you are family. Warning... if you go to Lucs you will find that you want to go back again and again..."

  • "Food was fine. However, the service was very poor. Extremely slow and not even an apology."

  • "Ambience was perfect, and they have outdoor seating for warm evenings! Casual dining but with real farm to table feel! Really liked the beet salad, linguine and peanut butter ice cream dessert! If you get steak, be sure to order medium so as not to receive it over cooked! Overall, excellent choices with new twists for the season"

  • "Had a short business meeting on their patio. Loved the ambience, and the beef stew was outstanding. Bartender should know the difference between a lager and a belgian wheat, tho"

  • "Excellent food. Wonderful service. Our favorite place to go. Never disappointed."

  • "Two of us took the menu du jour - very good value for money- with the halibut as main dish. Tasty, but a bit dry and my friend,s portion had numerous bones in it. Which were hard to detect because of the pate feuilletee and made it difficult to eat. The waitress just acknowledged this information."

  • "Luc has a great energetic vibe, cheerful atmosphere and delicious food. Attentive service. Great place for a casual celebration!"

  • "One of my favorite places. Just was saying I wish I could live at Luc's!"

  • "Luc used to be in the shadow of Rover's. Now it seems it's in the shadow of Loulay. Seattle has a very competitive food scene and it pays to look in the shadows... we've detected an uptick in the food at Luc (which was always very good.) There is something going on and we like it. Definitely worth a return visit to what is now a classic destination in a super neighborhood."

  • "The noise level was not overbearing and we could actually hear each other without straining our voices. We all ordered burgers and they are delicious. It was a fun evening and perfect for what we wanted."

  • "I have heard about Luc for a long time and thought Father's Day would be a great time to treat my Dad and try it out. We walked in at 6:45 and the man (who ended up being our server) who greeted us looked flushed and flustered. I felt rushed from the moment we sat down. There was no real greeting or introduction to the food or any specials. The food was at best mediocre. From the soufflé fries that were just filled with grease to the overly sweet and salty French onion soup and then possibly the blandest steak frites I've ever tasted. My dad ordered the chicken breast and the waiter just said "it will take 30 minutes for that". Definitely not worth the wait. Blah service, blah atmosphere, blah food, blah."

  • "We went here for Father's Day and they were very kind and allowed us ten minutes in after out reservation. The fries were marvelous and our server even had someone run across the street to get us ketchup when we were out. I will say I was disappointed with the salmon crepe, it was a little bland for my taste, but the Benedict sliders were phenomenal. Overall positive experience."

  • "You know how some restaurants create a great atmosphere without looking like they are trying too hard? That is Luc. An interesting menu, delivered efficiently in a comfortable environment. It sounds so easy, but very few get it right. Luc does....."

  • "As a visitor from Los Angeles I was impressed to find that the quality of the food, service and presentation at Luc was as good as or better than many high-end restaurants in LA. Both nights I ordered the salmon main course and just loved the presentation, the vegetables and "out-of-this-world salmon. The beet starter salad was also outstanding. Bravo Luc !"

  • "My fiance lives in Seattle, and I am working towards moving there myself. We had two days together on Memorial Day weekend, and dinner at Luc made for a wonderful evening. The wait staff were knowledgeable of the wine list and the menu. The atmosphere, especially on a rainy day, was so romantic. We will definitely be returning!"

  • "We had just gotten off of a 7 day Alaskan cruise and found this local neighborhood restaurant. Everything was great from the service to the food. Everyone loved each course they got and we had no complaints at all. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone living or visiting Seattle. "

  • "All three generations at our table loved their dinner experience at Luc. Everything (food, service, ambiance) was wonderful! Our teenager said the pot d'creme alone was reason to return. Their cassoulet was the best we've had since Allards eons ago. Definitely will be back."

  • "We have chosen as the place we celebrate good times in our family life, this time our son coming home from college. Food and and ambience reliably good. You were out of our favorite potato crisps otherwise everything was good "

  • "Luc's is serving brunch on weekends from 10-3. Go. Get the Luc's mimosa and the mushroom omelette. If you are really hungry get the Moules Frites as well. Outstanding food and service. Parking is tough but oh so worth it to dine at Luc's."

  • "I took my family out for an early Mother's Day dinner at Luc this Saturday evening. We had a delicious meal and my mom was thrilled. That is until we were told to leave because another party was waiting for our table. I have worked in the food industry (specifically as a server) and know that turning tables is important but we were still drinking our coffee and the (pretty hefty) check had only just arrived. It seemed unnecessary and made us feel awkward, rushed and embarrassed. I've been to Luc a few times and was so excited to share it with my Mom (who always loved listening to Thierry Rautureau on KUOW). I wanted her to feel special but she left feeling like an inconvenience. I will not be returning. "

  • "I got the cassoulet. It was edible, but I could have made better in my home kitchen. I had heard Rover's was outstanding, so my expectations were high for Luc. I was disappointed."

  • "Could not have been happier with our first experience at Luc. Fantastic food, ambience, and service. Overall, an exceptional experience. We will be back!!!"

  • "Always good food and service. wine list OK. Tables too close together and noise levels too high to be romantic, but a great dining experience."

  • "I took my wife here for our Anniversary and had a wonderful meal. We chose the Menu Du Jour along with the Wine Pairings. Everything was awesome. Service was great. The wine complemented the meal, and we thought it was a good value."

  • "We arrived at LUC for a quiet date-night dinner we were promptly greeted and seated. The server's welcome and introduction was a bit uninspired but adequate. The food timing and quality were both good - maybe even slightly above average for a restaurant in this price range. Overall, a good experience."

  • "This was our first visit to Luc for brunch. We love Thierry's restaurants, and the food here is great. It's relaxed and we often bring our 3 girls, who love the Soufflé Fries. The girls are 6, 10, and 12. Luc is accommodating of families, but I wouldn't say the restaurant targets young families. Great French food in a more informal setting, great cocktails, and responsive service. If your children often go out to eat, they'll be fine here too."

  • "We went to Luc's for Easter Brunch. We all tried something different. It was very good but nothing special. Hostess was very friendly! "

  • "My companion & I ecpected to be dazzled. Instead, we were just adequately fed. Very middle-of-the-road"

  • "The ambiance was fabulous: dark colored decor but lots of candle lighting and ambiance through lamps. The food was tasty but not "blow my mind out of the water" good, I will tell people it's a neighborhood gem, but won't call all my friends recommending it to them immediately. The service was extremely friendly, but slow. The place was pretty full, but they seemed fairly well-staffed, so we were puzzled when it seemed to take our waitress a long time to get us our food between courses. Definitely worth the $30 menu for Seattle Restaurant week! "
