Luc is a French-American café and bar named after the owner Thierry Rautureau's father, Luc Rautureau.

Located at the intersection of Madison Street and 28th Avenue in the heart of Seattle's Madison Valley, Luc is a neighborhood spot with heartwarming food, fresh cocktails and a well-selected wine list including our own blend, Luc.

The menu highlights the Luc Burger, Boeuf Bourguignon, Trout Almandine, Chocolate Pot de Crème along with daily specials and a daily specialty dish to be shared family style.

Luc is a journey and a feast for the senses in a very casual atmosphere.

Happy Hour is daily from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the bar, kitchen counter, and patio.

  • "We had a good time. The crowd really died down past 8PM on Sunday night. The cocktails are great and tasty. The food is alright. I liked my salad and entrée, which is halibut. My friends got the pork chop and we're surprised that it's just pork chop and fries..that's diner food. Dessert is pretty good."

The restaurant week dinner at Lucs consisted of selections from their regular menu and was excellent. I know I can count on Luc's for a lovely French Bistro dinner."

  • "We visited Luc during Restaurant Week and had a great experience. It is a great space with as many tables laid out to accommodate the maximum number of people. Despite this, we felt very comfortable. The food is the reason to come here though. Everything was great. We started with a couple of complimentary small dishes - a great touch - followed by a great carrot/ginger soup and a wonderful beet salad. I then had the pork chop which was just about perfect and so big I had some to take home. My partner had halibut which was beautifully presented and very tasty. Desserts were equally good. This was as good a meal as I have had in a ver long time and everything was presented beatifully."

  • "I had the carrot ginger soup, pork chop, French fries, and fabulous tangy flan with apple compote for dessert. Exceptional were the soup and dessert but the chop was very good. My friend had the beet salad, and halibut. She is a fine cook and gave her dinner 4 spoons. We arrived at 5:30 which was perfect because the place was hopping by 6:00. Lively but not too noisy. The service was pleasant and appropriately solicitous. Wonderful evening. The dessert was like nothing I've had--kind of a yogurty flan. Great texture and creaminess."

  • "Went to Luc on a Sunday night, excellent service. Started with the cheese plate, and signature cocktail, the blue cheese was very smooth and the Luctini was smooth too. Beet salad with quinoe was light and refreshing. The beets were sweet and perfectly roasted. My entree was the White Bean Cassoulet, three meats and white beans made for a very hearty meal. No room for dessert, maybe next time."

The menu is enticing; our choices were terrific. I love that Chef has continued the tradition of "Amuse Bouche." as the beginning ot the dining experience. From an ambience standpoint, I wish it were a little more brightly lit - older eyes had some difficulty reading the menu."

  • "started with our server questioning us whether we could sit where the hostess had seated us. it went down hill from there. she was unattentive, unknowledgeable, served us well after 3 other tables that sat down after us, insisted no pouring the wine after i asked her not to, filled the wine glasses about 3/4 of the way. this is was i would expect at the IHOP. i purchased a $45 bottle of white rhone that tasted almost as good as 2-buck chuck. not a food friendly wine in the least. it doesn't seem like a Thierry choice. he must have turned over ops to soemone else. the food was OK, not great. just OK. this was my third visit to Luc and the other 2 times were much better."

Sometimes it's a weeknight burger at the bar, sometimes it's a late night cocktail, sometimes it's a special occasion dinner.   • "We dined at the restaurant on Friday.Service was good, friendly and timely.Room had good energy. But.....the food was so average it was unbelieveable. House salad lettuce was wet so it had zero flavour, salt cod fritters were blah. The exception was the chicken liver mousse, it was delicious. The entrees both cassoulets were bland , duck confit not crisp and the lamb sausage was salty. Trout, the almonds were burnt sides were good. The pork shoulder special tasted good but was way over cooked. After all the good things I had heard I was perplexed that I had recommended the restaurant to our friends. We dine out frequently and I would rate this experience a two out of ten. Possibly the Chef is spending his time at his new restaurant."

  • "Went to Luc after Pedis down the street for my friend's birthday. I'd made a reservation so they greeted us w/ "Happy Birthday" and seated us at a nice booth in the back. Even at 7pm the place was packed! Our waiter was excellent as was all the service. I had the 3-course set menu and my friend the moules frittes. The pork chop was delicious as was the carrot-ginger soup. We ordered a 1/2 carafe of the house red which was very nice and reasonably priced. Luc is definitely a hot spot and my friend commented she felt like a hipster having dined there. While I like good food I don't dine out a lot which made Luc such a nice treat. The great service on top of the delicious food was icing on the cake! Highly recommended!"

  • "The ambience of this place was very nice - dim lighting, but not too dark. Music wasn't too loud, so I could talk to my friends across the table without shouting. I love to see the cooks in the kitchen - from my table you could see them. The food was very good. Good amount of flavor in my beouf bourginoun, and the leek soup was a great starter. We ordered a yogurt type dessert. Not usually what I go for, my standard is chocolate. I'm glad I tried it - it was delicious and very refreshing."

  • "I've been to Luc multiple times and each time something is not quite right. This time two of us ordered off the tasting menu and both ordered the pork shoulder. Mine was tender and delicious and my dinner companion's was tough but tasty. The potatoes were flavorful but felt like they just came out of the refrigerator. Dessert, pot de creme, was quite good. I ordered the 10 oz "carafe" of wine. The waitress poured the first taste and after that I had to pour my own. I can't understand why a server cannot see an empty glass and pour. But I do enjoy Luc. I just wish I could have a complete dining experience."

  • "Have visited Luc several times since its opening, our name is even on the wall as a financial backer. Food has depth in taste, reasonable serving sizes, good service. Recently we had margarita pizza - good, cassoulet -good and enough for 2, and linguine - okay, too rich especially when duck confit was added. Salad with tarragon dressing - good. Dessert of chocolate cake with caramel was good. House white wine had a light fizz to it. Wish menu had more variety over time. The kitchen has talent. They produce good food, but they produce the same good food with little new added, menu is a bit stale. We come to use up our gift cards from investment since Rovers closed. Very Madison Park crowd."

The food was a as good as Rovers (one of Tierrys' previous restaurants in the neighborhood but with out the hype and price.The service was top notch and even the house wine was very palatable.   • "Our experience this time was mediocre. The chicken liver mousse and the salad lyonnaise were excellent! All three of us had the trout almandine and it was just not executed right. The trout was dry (maybe a little over cooked) and the sauce just did not seem right! The first time I had this dish at Luc it was superb. Service was a little off this evening too; our server was nice but her communication skills seemed off and lacked a warmth that is usually typical for Luc! Definitely an off night for our experience."

Two of our party had the pork chop special on a recent visit, and both proclaimed it the best they had ever had. Even something as simple as vanilla ice cream was memorable. The mixed drinks are large, and strong (!), and the wine selection is usually excellent. It's a nice spot for brunch as well."

The food was cooked perfectly, sauced and spiced well. We had a lovely dinner. One thing to be aware of is that like bistros in Paris, seating is very tight."
