A word from Luc
Luc is a French-American café and bar named after the owner Thierry Rautureau's father, Luc Rautureau.

Located at the intersection of Madison Street and 28th Avenue in the heart of Seattle's Madison Valley, Luc is a neighborhood spot with heartwarming food, fresh cocktails and a well-selected wine list including our own blend, Luc.

The menu highlights the Luc Burger, Boeuf Bourguignon, Trout Almandine, Chocolate Pot de Crème along with daily specials and a daily specialty dish to be shared family style.

Luc is a journey and a feast for the senses in a very casual atmosphere.

Happy Hour is daily from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the bar, kitchen counter, and patio.

The most difficult aspect is deciding what to order when you know everything will be expertly prepared. The hamburger, probably the lowest priced item on the menu, is to die for and i regularly crave the frites. Reasonable prices for the type of restaurant. Limited, well-thought wine selections. If you're looking for quiet or an encyclopedic wine selection you might want to look elsewhere."

  • "We love LUC. Tried it out for brunch with 7 adults and 2 babies. Service was prompt and accommodating. Food was delicious as always. Beignets sell out quickly, so be sure to order yours right away, or risk having to wait. The patio is lovely, but too warm for us with the tiny ones with us."

The food was good but the menu was a bit limited and slanted toward the heavy side or the casual dining side. I was surprised that there was only one seafood offering and that was the nightly special. It was salmon and I don't usually order that out because I eat enough of it at home. M y wife did get it and it was very good."

  • "The bit too loud is coming from an older person who isn't crazy about the new acoustics in restaurants. We were in luck, since there were no parties larger than two in our area. I do like the food here and the service is always excellent as well. Luc's is one of my favorites (tho the Dahlia is my all-time favorite to put things in perspective). A bit high in the price arena, but against comparable restaurants. I like Luc's quite a lot."

Other than the souffle potato crisps and the chicken liver mousse (which had an amazing cherry gelee), the linguine duck confit, steak frites and pork chops were just average. Not worth a 2nd visit in my book as there are lots of other way better french bistro choices."

I love the use of seasonal fruit and ingredients. To make it even better the Price was great as well. This little gem is worth the drive no matter where in the greater Seattle area you may reside."

  • "While this is a neighborhood gem, we drive from our neighborhood just to come spend time at Lucs. The food is amazingly fresh and natural with tons of flavor. Our favorite part of our experience is the staff. From the second you walk in the door they make you feel like you are family.   • "Two of us took the menu du jour - very good value for money- with the halibut as main dish. Tasty, but a bit dry and my friend,s portion had numerous bones in it. Which were hard to detect because of the pate feuilletee and made it difficult to eat. The waitress just acknowledged this information."

Seattle has a very competitive food scene and it pays to look in the shadows... we've detected an uptick in the food at Luc (which was always very good.) There is something going on and we like it.   • "I have heard about Luc for a long time and thought Father's Day would be a great time to treat my Dad and try it out. We walked in at 6:45 and the man (who ended up being our server) who greeted us looked flushed and flustered. I felt rushed from the moment we sat down. There was no real greeting or introduction to the food or any specials. The food was at best mediocre. From the soufflé fries that were just filled with grease to the overly sweet and salty French onion soup and then possibly the blandest steak frites I've ever tasted. My dad ordered the chicken breast and the waiter just said "it will take 30 minutes for that". Definitely not worth the wait. Blah service, blah atmosphere, blah food, blah."

  • "We went here for Father's Day and they were very kind and allowed us ten minutes in after out reservation. The fries were marvelous and our server even had someone run across the street to get us ketchup when we were out. I will say I was disappointed with the salmon crepe, it was a little bland for my taste, but the Benedict sliders were phenomenal. Overall positive experience."

  • "I took my family out for an early Mother's Day dinner at Luc this Saturday evening. We had a delicious meal and my mom was thrilled. That is until we were told to leave because another party was waiting for our table. I have worked in the food industry (specifically as a server) and know that turning tables is important but we were still drinking our coffee and the (pretty hefty) check had only just arrived. It seemed unnecessary and made us feel awkward, rushed and embarrassed. I've been to Luc a few times and was so excited to share it with my Mom (who always loved listening to Thierry Rautureau on KUOW). I wanted her to feel special but she left feeling like an inconvenience. I will not be returning. "
