A word from Loxley's
The first thing you notice when pulling in the entrance of the Heritage Hotel parking lot is the incredibly unique addition to this Lancaster landmark. To call it a deck or a patio doesn't do this two-story structure justice. Imagine dining in the most impressive tree house ever built. The open layout and the use of the natural environment give a feeling of submersion in nature, a theme that is consistent throughout Loxley's.
The inside of the restaurant is unlike anything that has ever been seen in Central Pennsylvania. The massive bar is encrusted with arrowheads and surrounds a tree growing through the center of the room. Ambient lighting on the natural wood walls adds to the feeling of natural splendor. It is the epitome of the dining "experience", mixing Heritage Hill's well-known culinary expertise and exceptional service with ambiance that will leave everyone amazed.

  • "The food and service were very good! They donated 5% of our bill to a charity we could choose from."

  • "We enjoyed Loxly's for our Son's Graduation from Millersville University. There as a group of 15 of us and we all enjoyed our meal from the drinks to the food to the service. They were very good and attentative."

  • "We all thought the food was delicious. We shared the Halloumi Mediterranean appetizer and it was underdone. It was supposed to be grilled so that the cheese melts and it was barely grilled and still cold. The menu is varied so that you can dine for under $20 if you desire. We had to be some place in less than an hour and a half and though we did not tell them, the staff was fine. We would go back."

  • "I always like going to Loxley's because it does give back, you get to pick a charity of the month (they had 3 to choose from) that they give too. The food there was very good; always have great sweet potato fries. I can't wait for the outdoor seating to be open again"

  • "Waitress was personable and very knowledgeable but her tables seemed to be spread out, so she was only occasionally checking in with us. We opted to add the soup & salad bar to our entree. When we went to get our soup for a starter it was empty. When our food came after a long wait, it was not hot. We had to wait a long time to get our dinner check so we could get on the road. By the way, when we were ready to leave - The soup pot was full! When we finally paid and ready to leave it had been over two hours to get through dinner that usually should be about and hour and a quarter. I was not very impressed with this visit. I will likely not return next time I am in the area."

  • "Overall we enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The menu is extensive with plenty to choose from; the atmosphere is fantastic and the iced tea was great! The food is very good and the French Onion Soup is outstanding. After being seated we waited almost 10 minutes before we saw a waitress. Our waitress did not ask us about where to donate the 5%, and she was unenthusiastic and abrupt. Once we worked at warming her up she was more engaging. Our drinks went empty right after our food came and stayed empty until we were almost done with the meal. We will be back to try other items on the menu that looked intriguing. The outdoor patio area looked fantastic with the gas heaters and tree house! We will be back!"

  • "We celebrated a belated Valentines day. Our seating in the Wine Room was just perfect. In fact "perfect" sums up our entire dining experience ! Keep up the great work. We'll be back."

  • "The food was great! A little on the expensive side. I got pasta and it was a very small portion for $15. They had the option of adding soup and salad bar for $5, that was a great addition. However, $20 seemed much for both. The setting is wonderful, and our waitress was great!"

  • "I've always wanted to go to Loxely's when one of my friends told me about a robin hood themed restaurant. I thought that like every other themed restaurant, they'd rely on gaudy decorations and fun names for food to deter you from the poor food quality. This is not true. Our dinner was great, the service was excellent, and the bar menu was fun. My girlfriend said it was the best salmon she ever had- I had a burger (burgers taste the same everywhere, so no complaints). They donate 5% of everybody's check to a charity which you get to select from a group of 3, so that was fun too, even though I wasn't too happy with the selections. I cannot wait to go back in the summer because the outdoor dining looked spectacular and so much fun. A+!"

  • "Valentine's Day is always such a busy restaurant time. Loxley's did their usual job - good service, good food - even one vegan meal."

  • "My husband ordered 2 mixed drinks and they were fabulous- the Root Beer Moat and the Chocolate Covered Cherry martini. Our shrimp appetizer, my grilled salmon, and his scallops were too overdone. If I came back, I would avoid seafood. My asparagus was average but the pineapple glaze on my husbands green beans was very tasty."

  • "The room was dim for a romantic setting and dining was quiet. The adult drinks were great but the burger was dry and had no flavor. Another person in the party order chicken for her salad the first time it was burnt and the second time she was served her chicken it was not even edible."

  • "As we have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions we have come to expect good food and service. This experience did not let us down. We enjoyed a nice meal with our daughter and another couple with their young son. The service was great with a special note of thanks that our request to have the children's food brought out first was met with kindness and understanding."

  • "We always try new/different places with a group of friends and we were recommended Loxley's from a former employee. The former employee just raved about it. We came to Loxely's in the winter (first mistake) and I really think that this would be a nice experience for a warm summers night to enjoy a few drinks and maybe an appetizer (no meals)."

  • "The food was first rate, the atmosphere was excellent. We did have about a 40 minute wait even though we had a reservation, but the experience was worth it. The waitress was clumsy, but she owned it and add up firit with her personality. Overall, great experience a dew thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

  • "My husband and I dined here for dinner as I had to come to Lancaster for work ... To make it easier for traveling purposes and not knowing the area we just figured it would be easier to dine here since it was located inside the hotel. Being from Philadelphia we definitely are foodie people so I didn't know what to expect. The restaurant decor is definitely rustic which fits the hotel/ Lancaster theme. We were seated by a window which was cold due to a draft but we were dressed warmly so it was bearable. Between the specials and the regular menu there were a ton of food options so we ordered a bunch of stuff and everything was good. The only thing we were disappointed with was dessert. It was small and tasteless, not what we expected."

  • "Did not have to wait for a table on a busy night. Service was excellent and food was prepared just right. Disappointed with my Martini, too weak. I would return anytime."

  • "This was our second problem visit out of 3 visits. We had reservations for 8pm, arrived at 7:50. Given pager and told would be 10 min wait. People came and went, it was 8:40 by this point. We were waiting very close to the hostess and could hear everything. Couples were arriving without reservations and being seated immediately. Finally when we sat alone for 10 minutes we walked up to inquire how much longer. They said they did page us but pager broken, then they claimed they had called our names. They had called for 2 parties, neither of which was us. If they hadn't outright lied we would have felt better. After being seated our food order took over 1 hour to be served and we ordered the daily special."

  • "We had the Andouille sausage, mango and goat cheese appetizer that was sparse on ingredients and tasteless. My wife had the Outlaw Salmon entrée that was overcooked and dry, the sauce saved it. I had the European Chicken that was supposed to be a half chicken but was closer to a leg and thigh, breast was non existent. The chicken had little seasoning and was bland. The meals sounded great on the menu but didn't come through on the plate. The restaurant was busy with Christmas parties and groups."

  • "Overall the food was excellent. The challenge that this restaurant faces is the ability to turn tables and get the attention that is needed from the wait staff. Our waitress had a great personality, but was never at our table more than 15 seconds to allow us to get our questions out."

  • "I just visited the restaurant this past weekend, 12/6/13, so I ate indoors. The ambience was great indoors, but I would love to come back to enjoy dinner on the patio, as the setting is very beautiful. The food and service were very good. I would definitely go back when I visit the area again."

  • "First of all when Loxley's called to confirm, they asked if we wanted to sit in the ballroom where the Thanksgiving buffet was. Of course I said yes especially since we have a 7 mo old and it would easier to be close to the food. When we got there, we weren't seated there and when I questioned that, the hostess said it was only for large parties. Then when we were leaving after we 'd already paid, we realized we 'd been charged for drinks when they were supposed to be included. When we questioned the hostess if drinks were included, she and 2 others had no idea so they got the manager who also had no idea. After I kind of made a stink about nobody knowing what was going on, the manager did give us a cash refund for our drinks."

  • "My husband and I spent Thanksgiving In Amish Country PA, and came here for dinner and it was the best dinner away from home we had in a long time. The food was to die for and the drinks awesome. We had such a great time just the two of us. I would tell anybody and everybody if you are in the area stop by and enjoy some really good food and drink in a great place, I know we will be coming back again and again."

  • "Went to Loxley's on recommendation. Very cool, love the theme, the décor really neat. Being close to Halloween, staff were dressed in costume, added a fun element. Food was well prepared and very delicious. Our only rub was that we were a very small intimate party of three and were seated next to a very large group party that drowned us out with their loud conversation (extremely noisy). We asked to be re-seated, which was done so promptly. We all discussed wanting to come back during warmer weather to experience the loft and outdoor bar scene. Really liked that a % of the proceed when to a charity of our choosing. Thank you for an evening to remember."

  • "my wife and i hadn't been out for a while so we wanted to go somewhere special. we were both disapointed with the food and the prices were a little high. The set up is really neat and there is a lot of potential, but just not memorable."
