Dining on Market StThe Restaurant is new so they will, in time, get a few thing corrected. The downstairs dining was a little tight, every time someone
walked by, they bumped my chair. The food was very good with a great selection, fron she-crab soup to rack of lamb, which is what
I had, very, very good.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than good.Lowcountry Bistro is very inviting place. It has neighborhood charm. The service is great. The staff know their menu and how are things are prepared. The drinks are free flowing with a taste to match. The bistro creates a great atmosphere for either couples and family. The bistro is another spot on our list. The bistro costs are very affordable. Risk it all. You have nothing to lose.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Brunch! My family and I went to Lowcountry Bistro for brunch on Mother's Day. I heard the restaurant was good, but I was impressed even more after dining. Everyone enjoyed their meals (fish and grits, chicken and waffles, and market breakfast) a great deal. I ordered the fish and grits and the portion was so large, I was able to get four more servings out of the one meal. They serve large portions for low prices without sacrificing the quality. We will definitely go back again!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat flavor of the low countryMy husband had the best-ever version of shrimp and grits here. I had a simpler grilled shrimp and goat cheese salad, but it was excellent, as well. Casual and fun, with delicious low country food.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food - VERY casualI had read reviews saying this was a casual place with decor that needed some updating - and I have to agree. The food and the service were good, but decor is just very lacking. Our waiter was very attentive and efficient, and I had the chicken and waffles. The reviews are true - it is delicious! Thin, crispy skin on the half chicken, fried perfectly and delicious! Waffle is thin, but just the right amount of sweet with the pecan butter and syrup. My cousin had the pulled pork platter with collards and mac & Cheese. Pork just wasn't very good, but collards and mac & cheese were good.
For the prices I would expect a much higher class dining area, and especially with the sister restaurant 82 Queen.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding! We loved it so much we booked brunch to. The chicken and waffles is out of this world!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBachelorette DinnerWe recently visitied Lowcountry Bistro for a Bachelorette dinner on a Friday night. There were 9 in our group and we were able to get a large table that did not feel over crowded and had plenty of room. Our waitor was very attentive and was able to provide us with drinks and menus right away. He even gave our bride a shot of Moonshine on the house! The food was amazing and the portions were very reasonable and so was the pricing. A couple of the girls even ordered mutiple plates and shared them becuase there were too many delicious options to choose between. The best was that we were on Market and were able to walk to many bars afterwards. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFast and friendly service.Fast and friendly service. Great food. Our waitress was very attentive even though she was busy.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good service, great timAlthough the dining area is not attractive (we were seated near the bar because there was a private party upstairs), we had a great time and a fantastic meal.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWell worth the stopGreat location right on market Street. The server, Eric, is a great ambassador for restuarant and city. Very knowledgable and helpful with menu. He also informed us about local area and places to see. The food is very good and served hot and looking great. The taste was outstanding. Atmosphere is casual and cozy for private time with spouse.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLowcountry Bistro is an exceptionalLowcountry Bistro is an exceptional restaurant and a great value. Located on South Market Street directly across from the open markets themselves, it has a wonderful, cozy neighborhood bistro feel. You will have a hard time choosing from the menu because everything looks so incredible. I settled on fried Parmesan okra as an appetizer (outstanding!) and chicken and waffles (delicious seasoning on the chicken), which ended up being my main course as well as dessert. The wine and specialty cocktail list is small but perfect for a bistro setting. I was there late in the evening, and if you want a relaxed but openly friendly restaurant with terrific service, don't miss Lowcountry Bistro!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHad an amazing lunch at LowCountryHad an amazing lunch at LowCountry Bistro! If you are looking for great southern cuisine, you can't pass up this place! Great location on S. Market street. Comfortable environment, incredibly helpful staff and received our food quickly!

One of the best already in a busy market area scene.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMService was well timed, friendly,Service was well timed, friendly, and extremely helpful. Outstanding appetizer special; Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Fried Green Tomato. The Pairing of Portabella's was a fantastic vegetarian entree. Highly recommend and I cannot wait to return to Low Country Bistro!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely OutstandingMy wife and I were in Charleston for 5 days and ate at numerous outstanding restaurants. This was our favorite. The food was absolutely outstanding. We shared the shrimp & grits and the jambalaya, and had the chocolate pie for dessert. We'll be coming back every chance we get.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved Low Country. FoodWe loved Low Country. Food was great, atmosphere fantastic and the service was fabulous. Our waiter gave us directions around town an to a great gelato place by the water. Would definitely go back next time we are fortunate enough to be in Charleston.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe fried green tomatoes andThe fried green tomatoes and lowcountry ciopinno were great! The jambalaya was also very good. The waiter was great, quick to refill on my iced tea and had great recommendations about what to get! He was also great in telling us about the food on the menu, and asked the chef to make the jambalaya a little less spicy for us!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOur food was cooked perfectlyOur food was cooked perfectly and the wait time for our food was extremely short. Menu options were delicious. Great appetizers especially. I've never had such amazing grits before! Servers were very polite, and we were never neglected. Overall, a restaurant I'd love to dine at again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Lowcountry FoodBeing a sister restaurant of 82 Queen, I had high expectations, and Lowcountry Bistro lived up to those expectations. A more casual option, Lowcountry Bistro still offers a great selection of traditional "lowcountry" food at an affordable price, with great service.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was wonderful. WaitFood was wonderful. Wait staff was very strong and attentive. Kitchen was slow and the dining room wasn't full.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience.... We wereGreat experience.... We were in town for a few days celebrating a birthday and Low Country Bistro came highly recommended by the locals. Glad we listened to them... Awesome!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and foodServer was attentive without hovering. The chicken and waffles were AMAZING.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was wonderful !Everything was wonderful ! The service was outstanding and the food was the best!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest chicken and waffles yet!Stopped in for a St. Patricks Day dinner. The hosts recommended the chicken and waffles which my husband ordered. That was amazing!
We would definitely recommend it. I ordered the special, shepherds pie, it wasn't amazing, but it was good. We did ding the food score because the shepherds pie was just barely warm when it came out. Not cold enough to send back, but I like my food hot. We did also order
the special dessert, Vickies warm Irish cookies...I'm unable to describe how scrumptious they were!! We were seated outside, on the upstairs deck, which was nice; we could watch people walking up and down Market St. We'll definitely be going back, and i will be ordering the chicken and waffles for sure!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the joy of dining onWe had the joy of dining on the porch. Excellent food, service and the view was beautiful. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Charleston for some authentic low country dining.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Turnip Greens & Crab Cakes! The best crab cakes I've ever had with the best turnip greens in the world! Outstanding service and food 2 years in a row. The chef is from Maine and he flys in the crabs from Maine. The cakes are 95% crab meat and some of the best I've ever tasted. The decor is not fancy, they could work on that some, but it's clean and nice. The service was good, no complaints, but could stand to be more friendly. No wait or reservation needed on a Saturday night and right in the middle of the Market. I will be going back everytime I'm in Charleston!3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food, service andFantastic food, service and excellent bar - everything you want in a Charleston restaurant.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service!I selected Low Country Bistro for a group dinner for an employee dinner based on reviews and menu. All were out of towners, so I was looking for a nice restaurant with good food and a nice downtown experience. The food was excellent as was our server, Eric. We had fried green tomatoes, she crab soup, and okra as appetizers. We had a variety of fish dishes, pulled pork and a portobello mushroom entree and all were excellent. One in our group is a true"foodie" and she gave 5 stars. You won't be disappointed.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PMLB's a WinnerLow Country Bistro offers tasty Southern fare in an energetic atmosphere. Service is brisk and professional. Food is creative and plentiful at a reasonable price in a tourist spot by the Market.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
