I read the mixed reviews and was not sure what to expect. I was very impressed. I got the crab cakes and they were delicious. My husband got the shrimp and grits. He loved it and I thought it was just ok. The wine was phenomenal. Only downside was service was a little slow. Seemed to be only one server. It was a good thing we were not in a hurry. Would go back.

My partner is a bit of a wine connoisseur and I thought we might enjoy this spot - our first time here. What a fun atmosphere! Interesting menu - comfort foods with a bit of a twist. I had a little problem with my meal and our wait staff had the owner come over. We had a nice conversation and he offered several suggestions to make it right (and really, it wasn't a big issue). I appreciated the fact the he was on site and willing to make sure his diners left happy and satisfied. My partner had the PhoLouis which he raved about, along with two different wines which he said are hard to find in restaurants. I had a pork chop that was tender and well seasoned. The potatoes were seasoned with nutmeg-a nice flavor. We'll be back soon

Louie’s has an excellent 21st century menu. Many of the plates are either gluten free or can be prepared GF. We have eaten at Louie’s a few times now and have found the food to be top notch. Each time our servers have been attentive without being intrusive. Only knock is the noise level. With the brick and plaster interior it can be a bit loud but the food and drink well outweigh any external noise.

I have driven past it before, but had never considered Louie's Wine Dive a place to investigate, as it sounded like just a wine bar. However, when checking out http://www.omaharestaurantweek.com/participating_restaurants/ and looking for spots in my area, Louie's was there. Their offerings looked great and helping The Food Bank is a huge bonus, so we gave them a shot. We really enjoyed the food and the wine recommendation of the staff was perfect. We will be back! The only down side was that the music was a bit too loud and made chatting a little difficult.

We arrived at noon on Sunday and were seated right away. I must say our server was amazing, she did a wonderful job! My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, 3 biscuits with a chorizo gravy. I ordered the shrimp and grits. When we received our food 20 mins later the food was ice cold. My dish was missing eggs and tomatoes. We decided to send the food back. The 2nd time it was hot but instead of the promised poached eggs I received a soft boiled egg. I loved the grits but wished they eggs were done right. The owner stopped by to ask how it was. We couldn't bare to hurt his feelings in front of all his guests. They did discount our food and offer coupons for next time. The jury is still out on if we will try it again.

Let me start by saying that it was restaurant week, so the place was packed. We had to wait a while before being seated and the manager was great about offering us a beverage since we had reservations. This wasn't an issue and was very nice, but not expected. The food was GREAT, but we were waiting at least a half an hour before our appetizer came out. The poutine is awesome!! The server was very polite and apologized about a dozen times for the long wait for dinner, but it turned into a 2 1/2 hour ordeal. Not sure if we will return, but they do treat their customers with respect and we felt appreciated. Food is worth it, maybe try going on a weeknight.

Went there for a ladies brunch on Sunday and between the excellent service, bottomless grapefruit mimosas, and incredible brunch menu it's safe to say we'll be regulars there for sure! The ambiance is absolutely lovely and such a creative place-the decor and the staff are great too! We loved it, can't wait to go back and try more menu items!

Great dinner Sat. night at Louie's, took Denver friends there and they were impressed! Waiter Joe even offered to split our entree 3 ways...who does that! Only suggestion: when serving red wine, should give it time to "breathe" before sampling and/or serving. I was very surprised that waiter did not do this. Everything else was great...food and service worth a 25% tip!

Food was good-offered some unique options and the fried calamari was excellent. Noise level doesn't allow for a quiet dinner for two, but if you're looking for a place to meet up with friends, definitely a good choice.

I was really disappointed in the service. The food was amazing. The manager finally came to our table to ask if I needed more to drink since our waitress was so sporadic to stop by. I have heard a lot of great things so I will try it again and hope for better service
