A word from Louie's Wine Dive - Kansas City
Louie’s is obsessed with really, really good grapes, creative gourmet comfort food, and a funky, fun atmosphere to share them. We search all over the world to find you great wines. Many wines come from our relationships with smaller undiscovered vineyards, which offer a great value to our guests.
Wine is supposed to be Fun! We pour BIG and will open any bottle for our guests to try by the glass. When you taste a new varietal at Louie’s, let us know how it changed your concept of what wine is supposed to be.
Our gourmet comfort food is made fresh, using eco-friendly and local ingredients. As for the fun, we instigate it, but count on you to see it to fruition (literally through the fruit!). Louie’s is your place, so please enjoy it as much as we do, grab one of our unique bottles when you leave – we have a great selection of wine available to take home and share with family and friends.

Diner Reviews
  • "Had a wonderful brunch. It was a little loud though."
    Dined on 8/24/2014
  • "The wine selection and food in this friendly, neighborhood gathering spot are truly excellent, and the service is just the right balance of attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. Prices are also reasonable. On a Saturday night, the inside is noisy, as the wood floor and brick walls are bare so there is nothing to absorb the sound, but we sat at a small table for two and were able to carry on a conversation. It's quieter on weekdays, and the weekday specials can't be beat. I plan to make it my new go-to spot!"

  • "this place is the best great place to attend great place to have drinks with friends"

  • "It's nice to visit a place on a Saturday night where I don't have to drop $30+ an entree. Their dishes are priced accordingly. It's not awesome, but good. We enjoyed the Jazz band and it was an overall good experience. Food is just mediocre to disappointing. Three stars was kind - and I'm not saying that to be mean: Calamari was awful, shrimp & grits was good, steak was really good. Service was good and energetic."

  • "Great atmosphere.....service was outstanding (Chris) Food top-notch"

  • "Our server, Cacey (sp?), was super attentive and friendly. She came back to refill our drinks regularly and chimed in on our conversations appropriately. She answered our questions before we ordered and made our brunch fantastic. Thanks!"

  • "My husband and I finally booked a reservation at LOUIES WINE DIVE and what a great time! Food and service was great and the wine list is awesome! If you find a bottle you want to try, but not served by the glass....no problem! Just commit to two glasses. Where else do they offer that?! I would recommend this place to everyone! See you again soon!"

  • "This was our first time to Louie's. We dined upstairs first. Our server, Christine, was fabulous. The food was amazing, as well as the wine. We will return happily in the future. But, DON"T GO DOWNSTAIRS....sounds like a horror film. We were hoping to find a speak-easy type of atmosphere at The Bubble Down, but instead found random tables and chairs, lights that were too bright, and very lack-luster service. There is a bar, but apparently the cocktails are made upstairs. Why bother?? The music sounded good, but we didn't stay. Service took so long, and not classy, that we left before our drinks came. Our evening ended on such a sour note after a wonderful dinner. They really need to figure out what they are doing downstairs."

  • "Food was great but our server looked like he was having a horrible day. He never smiled, said thank you and it took 20 min after our dinner to get our check."

  • "Tried Louies for the first time, amazing place...food was killer, service was great and atmosphere was nice as well. Restaurant /bar style upstairs, darker more intimate setting downstairs with live jazz.. Will definitely go back.."

  • "Relaxed atmosphere. Good food. We sat down stairs and they had live jazz music! Great calamari appetizer. Prices very reasonable. Large wine and drink list."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "Great food. Great wait staff! Great experience. We will definitely be back."

  • "There were 3 of us for lunch and we came on the suggestion of someone else. Two of us had Shrimp & Cheese Grits and they were outstanding. One lady had spent a lot of time in the South and felt they were very authentic. The third lady had the Fish & Chips and said they were light and very tasty. We definitely hope to return. One lady was celebrating a birthday and they gave her a bottle of Cabernet as a farewell gift. She was very touch."

  • "Really like the concept around the wine, where you can have wine by glass of anything they carry. 2-4-1 wine on Mondays is hard to beat. Haven't been impressed with the seafood choices I have made there, but can highly recommend the 4 pork gnocchi."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "Our latest stop at Louie's was outstanding as usual. The pig stixs were perfect, crab cakes super tasty and the steak Deburgo was fantastic!! The server was spot-on and she kept us laughing the entire time."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "I liked the look of the restaurant and the service but beyond that it was poor. Our food was just average and the amount of wine you get when you order by the glass ($10) was pathetic!!!! And the waiters are obviously told to push a certain wine. I wont be going back."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Food very good and fresh. Large choice of sandwiches and salads for lunch. Nice neighborhood spot. We had 3 people, one burger and two salads and everyone was happy. The harvest apple salad and the chicken ponzu salad are good. We will be back. Food fresh and good presentation."

  • "Louie's Wine Dive was a great find. The service was wonderful, the food choices offered something for everyone and the atmosphere was relaxing and fun. After dinner we went downstairs to enjoy the jazz band. We really felt like we found something special in Louie's Wine Dive."

  • "I had the portobello bleu flatbread appetizer, which was phenomenal, with the Copollo Votre Sante pinot noir. And, the cheese flight was perfect for enjoying with wine. Exceptional service with a friendly atmosphere. Went on a weeknight, so the noise level was perfect for conversation."

  • "We do not recommend either the bar or restaurant. Service was nonexistent. We had to go looking for help. Then the woman who arrived to take our order didn't even know what drinks were available! Get rid of her. And on the menu we had a question - she didn't know that either. Finally a manager type showed up and answered. The burgers were good."

  • "I can walk to Louie's from my house so I am biased for sure, but its a great local spot with good food, great wine, great service and just always reliable. Just love Louies. I am probably there 2 times a month. Beware - happy hour is only at bar seating or outside. :)"

  • "Tasty food & drink! Several ordered the crab cake benedict and loved it and what about that MacDaddy omelette? Seriously, how could you go wrong with mac & cheese??!! Great selection of mimosas and free flowing. I might add I tried one of each! And be sure to ask for Rick - amazing waiter!!!"

  • "Louie's has become our go to brunch spot. Their Rise and Shine burger is amazing. The menu is off the beaten path but you can still get bacon and eggs if that's your preference. The staff is amazing and the traditional Bloody Mary is the best in town."

  • "We had a Friday 7pm dinner with out of town friends. Great table. Arrived early and no problem seating. Fun and eclectic wine list and food offerings. Our server was friendly efficient knowledgable and fun even though she was quite busy. Enjoyed everything about this experience. Stayed over two hours. Will find again!"

  • "The gnocchi dish is very good. I order the Pho-Louie, not sure what I was thinking, but it's soup, good soup, but it's soup. The vegetable ratatouille was also very good. We were celebrating a birthday and received a very nice surprise at the end! "

  • "Thank you for paying attention to the request on our open table reservation. It was wonderful to have our two parties next to each other. The staff was friendly, the food was great, and the mimosas were a delight! "

  • "This was our first experience with this restaurant and it definitely will not be our last. We went there on date night, they sat us in the basement where they had live jazz playing. The music, food and staff made the experience a one of a kind. We will definaitely be going back. "

  • "Our experience started when our server spilled water on our table when she brought water after 10 minutes. We were about to leave at that point. And if it weren't for the food I'd say we should have. The food was fantastic, reasonable and beautiful! The bottomless mimosa was empty as often as it was full and not really ever cold. We waited for our other drinks so long they were warm when they arrived and another server brought them and said "were you waiting for these? They were sitting on the bar forever." At one point our server even suggested we take the flavor of mimosa she was carrying because "you should just take what you can get." We'll go back but if we receive similar service we won't return."

  • "We went for my Mom's birthday brunch and had a blast! Can't wait to go back. Bottomless mimosas were perfection."

  • "It's called a wine dive, but I'm sure that's only so you don't worry about your dress. I'm not knowledgeable about wine, so I can't speak on that, though the list was extensive. Everything on the menu looked wonderful, it was hard to choose! I will definitely be back to taste from this great menu."
