A word from Louie's Wine Dive - Kansas City
Louie’s is obsessed with really, really good grapes, creative gourmet comfort food, and a funky, fun atmosphere to share them. We search all over the world to find you great wines. Many wines come from our relationships with smaller undiscovered vineyards, which offer a great value to our guests.
Wine is supposed to be Fun! We pour BIG and will open any bottle for our guests to try by the glass. When you taste a new varietal at Louie’s, let us know how it changed your concept of what wine is supposed to be.
Our gourmet comfort food is made fresh, using eco-friendly and local ingredients. As for the fun, we instigate it, but count on you to see it to fruition (literally through the fruit!). Louie’s is your place, so please enjoy it as much as we do, grab one of our unique bottles when you leave – we have a great selection of wine available to take home and share with family and friends.

We met some friends for brunch. Had a reservation and got seated right away. The service was great, the mimosas were great, and the food was good. However, the noise level was over the top for brunch. I'm not sure if people were yelling because the music was up so loud or if the music was up so loud so it could be heard over all of the people yelling. I literally could not hear the couple sitting across from us (no, I'm not old or deaf...I'm in my 20s). Our table was near the bar, so that coupled with people taking advantage of bottomless mimosas could have added to the noise level. The food was good, but the volume level was just overwhelming. We were not able to enjoy our time with our friends...sad.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and I am so glad we made this choice. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right. Upon entering we noticed that the place was quite busy. It was our first time. We had a reservation. To our surprise they had a more quiet and romantic area downstairs with live jazz. Perfect for the occasion. My wife felt really special on her special day.

Our group of gal pals tried Louie's after seeing a full-page picture of a fire-sparkling cinnamon cocktail in a local magazine. This place was so much more. Definitely a neighborhood gem, but not in our neighborhood. We'll be back. Our energetic server guided us through the extensive wine selections and unusual bar concoctions. The bartender, upon hearing about our interest, actually made our "sparking" cocktail at our table. Food recommendations by the server were spot on. She had lots of restaurant and bar experience stories to back up her choices and we had an absolutely delightful evening. Can't wait to come back and bring some of the gals that missed the first time. Heck, we might even bring our men if we are feeling generous.

The wine selection and food in this friendly, neighborhood gathering spot are truly excellent, and the service is just the right balance of attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. Prices are also reasonable. On a Saturday night, the inside is noisy, as the wood floor and brick walls are bare so there is nothing to absorb the sound, but we sat at a small table for two and were able to carry on a conversation. It's quieter on weekdays, and the weekday specials can't be beat. I plan to make it my new go-to spot!

It's nice to visit a place on a Saturday night where I don't have to drop $30+ an entree. Their dishes are priced accordingly. It's not awesome, but good. We enjoyed the Jazz band and it was an overall good experience. Food is just mediocre to disappointing. Three stars was kind - and I'm not saying that to be mean: Calamari was awful, shrimp & grits was good, steak was really good. Service was good and energetic.

My husband and I finally booked a reservation at LOUIES WINE DIVE and what a great time! Food and service was great and the wine list is awesome! This was our first time to Louie's. We dined upstairs first. Our server, Christine, was fabulous. The food was amazing, as well as the wine. We will return happily in the future. But, DON"T GO DOWNSTAIRS....sounds like a horror film. We were hoping to find a speak-easy type of atmosphere at The Bubble Down, but instead found random tables and chairs, lights that were too bright, and very lack-luster service. There is a bar, but apparently the cocktails are made upstairs. Why bother?? The music sounded good, but we didn't stay. Service took so long, and not classy, that we left before our drinks came. Our evening ended on such a sour note after a wonderful dinner. They really need to figure out what they are doing downstairs.

There were 3 of us for lunch and we came on the suggestion of someone else. Two of us had Shrimp & Cheese Grits and they were outstanding. One lady had spent a lot of time in the South and felt they were very authentic. The third lady had the Fish & Chips and said they were light and very tasty. We definitely hope to return. One lady was celebrating a birthday and they gave her a bottle of Cabernet as a farewell gift. She was very touch.

We do not recommend either the bar or restaurant. Service was nonexistent. We had to go looking for help. Then the woman who arrived to take our order didn't even know what drinks were available! Get rid of her. And on the menu we had a question - she didn't know that either. Finally a manager type showed up and answered. The burgers were good.
