Diner Reviews
  • "If you like MSG you will love this place. Like many people, I am highly allergic to MSG and will never go there again. I was not aware that restaurants still put MSG in their food."

  • "Louie's has been our family's favorite for years. We have four sons and when they were growing up they often picked Louie's to celebrate their birthdays. Although we no longer live in Seattle we still try to get there for some special occasions, and our Seattle son and his family go there when they crave Chinese food. Our Seattle grandsons love their food also so you can consider us three generations of fans!"

  • "cozy bar, nice atmosphere, not your typical Chinese restaurant with tons of bright lights..."

  • "Our custom has been to have Chinese food for New year's eve. Being new to Ballard, we selected Louie's and were very pleased in all respects. Great way to end 2013!"

  • "The person waiting on us was very nice but everything took looooong'. This is not the first time either. We have been here more than once since our son likes this place. He picked this place on this particular friday because it was his birthday, BUT they ran out of one of his favorite hambow. It was only 7:30 pm...was disappointed on his birthday. As I said, the cuisine was good but you need to be patient with the wait."

  • "The evening started with the waiter coming in [to the banquet room] and asking rather rudely if we [at the time only 2 people] were ready to order yet, which I replied we are waiting for our other guests to arrive, but could we please have some tea. Our drink order took about 15 minutes, and after several requests for more tea we never did get an additional pot. One of my friends has food allergies (she can't have soy) and when she asked the waiter if she could have steamed vegetables, with no soy of any sort on it (soy sauce included) his reply was "No, they (the kitchen) wont do that. And when my other friend who is a vegetarian asked what the broth of a certain soup was made with, the response from the waiter was "water"."
