  • "A friend had forwarded a favorable review of Louie's a few months ago, and so I made sure to remember it for an appropriate occasion. I went here for a small birthday gathering, something beyond the ubiquitous (though excellent) burger and pizza joints found in the area. Hands-down, the food was excellent; for that reason alone, I would recommend Louie's. I had a Caesar salad to start with, and could tell right away that the dressing was high-quality. For an entree, I had a petite filet mignon, and it was one of the best I've had in years, truly! Superb cut of meat cooked perfectly. Particularly if you're a steak fan, you should put Louie's on your list."

  • "I brought my mother here for her 60th Birthday. The place was great. At first I had crossed this place off of the list, but I'm glad that I decided on it. the food was excellent. It was worth every penny. The food was great, the staff was friendly, and the live band was awesome. The only thing that I did not like, was probably the close proximity of the other tables. I had a party of 5 and we were in a back next to a staircase. They should probably consider taking a few tables out to make it more comfortable. The food was spectacular, my prime rib of beef au jus was phenomenal and cooked exactly as I asked, I was not expecting the cut to be as big as it was, but I'm glad, because it has been 2 days and I have just finished it."

  • "When encountering the restaurant, it's in a mini mall connection- looks small. Once you walk in its beautiful, quiet and the jazz music is soothing! Our waiter immediately introduced himself, very nice and very courteous! The special selection for the day was so hard to choose, it all sounded delicious! We received our salad and soup first and by far very good! Dinner was the best part, every bite was delicious. I rate Louie's a 10, the atmosphere is soothing and quant, the service is astounding, and the food is beyond my expectations! Highly recommend!"

  • "Chop houses of this quality are usually found down town but not Louie's! This was or first time dining here and the experience was excellent!! I order the rack of lamb that was cooked just right(could have a tad bit more seasoning) and my husband ordered the bone-in rib eye that was good. Service was great and ambiance was cozy.So overall wonderful evening."

  • "Appears to be an upscale restaurant but falls short. Ordered a bottle of chilled white wine which was left at the table without being keep chilled. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was a few small mushrooms with a slice of sausage on top smothered in cheese. My entree was the BBQ ribs with garlic mash potatoes which I had to return because the ribs were dry and had no flavor, and the garlic mashed potatoes had so much garlic that I could not eat them. The waitress and the host were accommodating and replaced my entree with a filet which was very good. Desert okay. My wife had the surf and turf which was good. To expensive for all around experience."

  • "We were very pleasantly surprised by the amazing dining deals, the food was delicious and outstanding service. There was also a live entertainment. We had the crab cake appetizer which was delicious. My wife had sea bass and I had a bone in New York strip steak. We both thought the food was extremely good. We will definitely return in the near future."

  • "Server was fair. Caprese app was bad. Shishkabob app was raw. Salads were like you would get at a bad wedding reception. Petite filet was not a quality piece of meat. Also 'market price'? For meat??? $36 for a petite filet. Dessert tasted like they got it from Jewel next door. Awful. Save your money go to Tuscany or Wildfire! 100 times better for the same price!!"

  • "My family and I have gone many times to Louie's Chophouse and have always had a fantastic meal. No matter what we order, the food was delicious, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was exceptional. We meet friends there frequently and have never had a bad experience. I don't know how the restaurant continually surprises me with its great service and friendly wait staff, but it does. We will keep going back time and time again."

  • "Each time we have dined here it has been marvelous. This time was no different. We had requested a seat by the fireplace. They honored our request , the food and wine were great and we of course will return. This is our place. The ambiance service and food rival the downtown steakhouses without the bother of the drive and valet parking proved."

  • "My wife and I went to Louie's for Valentine's day dinner. Upon arrival, the parking lot was packed and there were people just inside the door... the place was hoping. A doorman/valet was at the door to greet us. We were quickly received and because we were early for our reservation, we went to the bar. The bar was crowded, but the bartenders did a good job of getting to everyone. There was live music in the bar area, which carried throughout the restaurant at a nice noise level. At our table, our waitress was fantastic. The good was very good, atmosphere was nice for a date-night dinner. A bit pricey for the neighborhood, but for a nice place the bill was as expected. I'd recommend Louie's to anyone looking for a nice restaurant for a date."

  • "I made a reservation for 5 and received a confirmation by email and on the way there I called and it went to voicemail. When my guest and I arrived we found out Louis was closed due to the weather. I got a call back from them the following day saying they decided to close around 2 when the owner was there however your website as well as theirs did not amend your automated answering machines. It was embarrassing to show up there with my clients only to have it closed. We ended up at 115 Bourborne St. had a great meal, great service and they bailed me out because of your lack of professionalism."

  • "This is one of my favorite south surburb steak house. But this time we were a little disappointed. We always order the baby octopus as an appetizer. The octopus is grilled and marinated in an olive oil with some herbs. One of the best anywhere except this time the octopus was overcooked, with some being burnt and all being very dry. My porterhouse steak which I ordered medium was overcooked. It did have a nice flavor but with no red or pink center. My wife said her fillet had no flavor. The server was very friendly. I rated it average for this visit and in the past would have rated it higher. I will come back, but expect a little better quality then we got. The two steaks, the apetizer and two premium beers came to $118."

  • "this place has a problem that we confirmed with our second visit that is easily fixed but for me not worth paying for. The lack of seasoning on all their dishes is to the extreme. The quality and preparation of the food is very very high but the lack of flavor destroys the dish. My steal was cooked to the perfect temperature but lack of salt and pepper was evident. I ordered a horseradish crust to see if that improved the flavor from last time. The crust was perfectly browned and look quite appetizing till you tasted it. All the flavor you could taste was some butter and unseasoned bread crumbs. My girlfriends pasta dish was cook nicely, good donenesss on the pasta juicy chicken, and a nice sauce. Again there was no flavor to be found."

  • "I decided to take my wife wife to Louie's Chophouse for her birthday on 1/11/14. We were greeted with a smile and quickly seated. That was the end of good service. It took 10 minutes for someone to come to the table after several times I tried to ask the extraordinary amount of waiters and waitresses if someone could wait on us. We ordered drinks but we had to ask for bread. The customers who was seated after us was quickly waited on. They received bread without asking. When the waitress did finally come over. We ordered our food and It took almost 35-40 minutes for our food to come out. The food was sub par.It was as though we were invisible. The service was sub par. I will not be returning for a while.I am highly disappointed."

  • "Went here for a special Family Dinner because of their large round tables. It was a very COLD night in January so there were only'several tables of customers. Service was very good, food good though VERY pricey...many items on the menu were MARKET PRICE: for example Two Lobster Tails were $84.00. Needless to say we didn't order them."

  • "Really nice atmosphere except the area we were in didn't have the fire place turned on-go figure! Nice live music in bar area and fire place in bar area was great. Food was good--- I used to work at a supper club/steak house so I am a bit particular. We went on New Years Eve and they had a special menu- the wait staff said our dinners came with soup/salad and side but we were charged extra/individually for each item. Our steaks were not cooked totally correctly- but mine was still delicious (I ordered mine medium-well, and my friend order hers medium and mine was way more rare than hers!!). Overall everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and it was a fun time"

  • "Had a great meal. Pork chops were excellent ,as usual. Rack of lamb seasoned and cooked perfectly. Our waitress ,Kelly, was very attentive. This is a neighborhood gem. There are not many places in the southwest suburbs that have a great steak or chop , this is one that does. The recent updating of the restaurant gives it a fresh look."

  • "Went on New Year's Eve for dinner with friends and the evening was perfect. We were seated immediately, the food was exceptional and so was the service. The only complaint would be the parking. We used their valet service because the lot was over-filled and it was snowing out. Because of the holiday and the bad weather, they definitely needed more help moving the cars in and out."

We had 3 gentlemen standing around our table telling stories during out entire dinner....not fun. Otherwise, staff is good, quick, and courteous, and food was good as always.   • "Decided to finally use a gift card from last Christmas for Louie's Chop House in Oak Lawn on Saturday night. I've driven by the place numerous times, never having any desire to try their food. What a mistake! This place falls way under the radar - it's so good, the steakhouses in downtown Chicago better take note! Incredible service from our waiter Ryan, delicious warm bread at the table, a soup of the day (cream of chicken, not to thick, lots of chicken and lots of delicious vegetables!), and main courses that were prepared perfectly. My wife raved about her pork chops with an applesauce brandy glaze, and my chicken picatta was delicately sauted. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "The best way I can describe Louie's Chop House is, Simply Perfect. It's location is a lttle unusual in that you wouldn't expect to find a restaurant of this high caliber tucked away in a strip mall. Louie's isn't the type of place where one would normally wear blue jeans although I doubt you'd be turned away. When you go to your table the waiter or waitress is quick to take drink orders and explain the specials. The waiter we had was Adam and he was one of the best we've had any where. Our steaks were done to perfection. The desserts were as you would expect, rich and tasty. After we finished eating we weren't rushed out so that they could turn over the table, in fact we were encouraged to stay. I can't think of a place I like more."

  • "We just had a lunch celebration for my son's college graduation. We invited friends and grandparents. We were greeted so nicely, and everyone was so courteous and gracious. We had excellent appetizers and delicious meals. We brought a cake and the waitresses brought it out with a candle, and smiles. We were so happy with the food and service, and atmosphere. Thanks to Louie's staff for making our celebration one to remember!"

  • "My wife and I have been to Louie's many times before, and it generally is a great experience all around. Unfortunately this time, we left a little disappointed. My wife ordered the Prime Rib, which is normally very good. When she received it, despite ordering it medium rare, it was more medium to medium-well and dry. I ordered the Surf and Turf which was supposed to come with a 10oz. filet mignon. There was no way my filet was close to 10oz; I would say closer to 6oz or 7oz. That said, the wine was wonderful as was the service. Will we come back? Maybe. But I think we may consider going elsewhere for our next anniversary or date night."

  • "Not my first time there. Food was OKI, but I expected better. My grilled NY steak came medium, not medium rare (I chose not to send it back). It was too thick for this cut of sterak, and not very juuicy. I didn't finish it but took part of it home, and it tasted much better cold, the next fday."

  • "As always, the steak and the rest of the food was fabulous! However this time, the service was not very good! Waitress brought Scotch on the rocks instead of Jim Beam and then lied about not having Jim Beam and this was a replacement. Couldn't remember the specials and did not find out what they were to tell us! Never asked if we wanted another drink or glass of wine. Waited 15 minutes after we finished our meal to ask if we wanted dessert and after we finished dessert another 15 minutes went by before she brought the check! We will go there one more time, but if the service is not up to par again.....we will find another great steak house on the south side!"
