Lotus Farm to TableUsually an overall excellentUsually an overall excellent experience but we made reservations for the Media " Dining under the Stars" event so we ate outside - not a great idea. There was a combo playing music on the sidewalk and it was so loud that you couldn't hear yourself talk. My friend ordered scallops and while the entrée was very good, it arrived with only two scallops and they were average size, it looked like an appetizer or small plate. Hope this is an isolated experience because in the past it has been wonderful.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBlues StrollGreat evening at Lotus! It was the Blues Stroll in Media and Andrea Carlson and her Love Police made some mighty fine music for us while we enjoyed our dinners.
Started with the amazing chef’s selection-artisan raw cheese board. My wife loved the grass-fed beef burger, turkey bacon, aged cheddar, house honey mustard, red onion, fried egg, red wine vin, greens. I tried a new item on the board, Soft Shell Crab Sandwich. Most eateries offering this Eastern Shore delicacy serve it too tough and stringy. Not chef Ryan! The crab had a light coating and was delicate and delicious. Ate many soft shells down Maryland, and none were better than this! Great table service, too!
Thanks Courtney!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat space, fab burger.I am a foodie and was wondering why they serve a burger, at a low price, considering the other items would be awesomely prepared given this farm to market dining place. They cannibalize the revenue of the other items. At this night the price went up to $39. My gal ordered the burger, I ordered the duck. It had a little bit of fat that was seared perfectly, providing that crunch. It was supported by beets, potato's and other available items - including shaved foie gras. The burger was fluffly, a nice peice of port loin and a fried egg. She wasn't sharing. I understand why the table to the left of us had 3 orders of the 5 people. I wondered why that happened, it was a blues fest night in the town.
The service: Was really really good.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodGreat food, some of the decor is a little cheesy but great food!!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA rebuttal to the yelp stuffAfter we made reservations at Farm to Table, my wife read on-line reviews which were not good. We almost cancelled our reservation.
However, we had four in our party and the food was very good--interesting items that were well prepared. Good salads with really nice fresh ingredients, and the main courses (trout, pork, rib-eye and lamb) were carefully prepared, nicely sauced and served hot.
Two negatives---charging $2 for very mediocre and NOT warm bread, and the house sparkling water is not cold and kinda flat! But the positives far outweigh these minor, easily corrected negatives and any place with food this good--and that is a BYOB joint--is a great value. They should strive to maintain--and improve--current food quality and service.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMa small gem for local-voresWonderfully prepared locally sourced foods. This means that offerings change regularly, so if you want to order the same thing every time you visit, you will not be happy, but if you want inspired food, it's the place for you. Duck confit and local trout were big hits at our table!
Casual, friendly atmosphere. Not inexpensive, but reliably great food.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE: Lotus Farm to TableI always love coming here... The food is fresh, inventive & always delicious.. I love the atmosphere & the staff are always nice, professional & helpful... IMy recent visit was with my sister & Mother. We are not big meat eaters, so it was a little difficult to order at first, however, our lovely server was able to come up with 2 FABULOUS fish dishes for us.... they really do try to make everything possible, & they pulled through for us... the salads are wonderful & fresh....I can't wait to go back!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific "health food" restaurantTerrific "health food" restaurant in Media. Relaxed service, pretty dining room with an Indian look.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCulinary CreativityThis is the second time that I have been to Lotus. First, a girlfriend took me and then I took my husband. The menu is very creative, putting together foods that aren't seen together. I love the way that the plate looks good coming out and you get to eat something you might not have thought of. I have had sea bass and scallops, my company has had pork belly and pork shank. The veggies were great with special little edible delights like crisp, dehydrated apples or kale adding a nice texture. I didn't have the ramp sorbet but I'm sure that it would have worked as did everything we were served.
I have a feeling that this restaurant will be growing. There are not many places that you can find such culinary creativity. I will be returning4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe flavored are fun TheyThe flavored are fun They excel at uses seasoning and creating savory combinations. I usually don't want dessert but I would like to see them come up with a small bite dessert4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMScallops were the best I everScallops were the best I ever had, striped bass also excellent. Was not crazy about the oysters served with dill pickle. The desert -- olive cake, a basil custard, sweet red wine reduction, and sorbet -- a fascinating combination.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious meal, friendly serviceDelicious meal, friendly service and nice acoustic guitar player.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went to LotusMy husband and I went to Lotus for a birthday dinner and were delighted! He had the steak, I had a mache salad and salmon, and both were excellent. We brought our own wine. Even so, our dinner wasn't cheap, but the portions were plentiful and satisfying. The service was very good. Recommend.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGo to Lotus! The duck for 2 was exquisite! Amazing flavor combination.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place to meet andA great place to meet and catch up with friends who are like-minded foodies. The men enjoyed the specials of the day and the ladies agreed the poussin deserves to be a menu favorite. Lotus creates interesting combinations of sweet and savory in the desert selections. The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. We were never rushed - and spent s couple of hours enjoying the excellent food and conversation.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother fine meal at one ofAnother fine meal at one of Media's finest restaurants!
Started with the flat bread which had a new combo of delicious toppings.
For the main course, I chose the scallops and my wife had the Pennsylvania trout.
Booth were excellent!
We finished with a great ice cream and cake dessert brought to us by the gracious owner, Courtney!
Musical entertainment came by way of the very talented Andrea Carlson.
Great evening!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great evening at LotusAnother great evening at Lotus Farm to Table. Owner Courtney Rozsas is getting even more radiant . . . even in the middle of winter! We were joined by our journalist daughter who thoroughly enjoyed the Grass-fed Beef Burger, house bacon,Hummingbird, pickled mustard, red onion jam, greens. This is really a high quality steak burger and a real value. My better half made quick work of the striped bass and I ordered the scallop. I have been preparing and consuming the best scallops for years and my hat is off to Chef Ryan! Dessert was outstanding as was the waitstaff! All of this with the great sounds of Andrea Carlson. Just doesn't get much better!1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh, local, well-prepared.Lotus is difficult to compare to a traditional restaurant because it is driven by the local food aesthetic, but I believe that is a movement worth supporting, and Lotus does it very nicely. The food was well prepared, and presented in ways that preserved the rich flavors of seasonal produce. Creative cooking at it's best.1/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! Since the restaurantGreat food! Since the restaurant is farm to table the menu changes often. I've been here around four times and every time it's great. Be prepared to try something's u don't normally eat but it's so worth it. Their teas are wonderful and desserts are fabbbulous!12/28/2012 12:00:00 AMBest scallop ever!Another wonderful experience at Lotus Farm to Table! Ordered a scallop as a starter, and I can say it was the best I have ever had! Chef’s Selection - Artisan Cheese Board is another wonderful starter that did not disappoint! The Striped Bass, baby carrots, sesame, celery root was exceptional and the Grass-fed Beef Burger, house bacon, aged cheddar, sweet potato ginger-mustard, shallot jam gives a whole new meaning to "hamburger"! Never leave this restaurant without enjoying a delectable dessert. For a perfect ending to our culinary experience, our lovely and gracious host, Courtney Rozsas, served us French press coffee! Once again, Lotus Farm to Table presented the amazing musical talents of Andrea Carlson for our enjoyment!12/15/2012 12:00:00 AMLOVE LOTUS!Wait staff is very attentive.. personable! The food is very fresh, inventive. Somewhat limited for us, as we eat mostly vegetarian & fish, however, that being said, it narrowed our choices (sometimes a good thing!) and made ordering easy... We ordered the vegetable flat bread (GREAT!) A salad (ALSO GREAT!) and then the striped bass... delicious! All of the food was well prepared, thoughtful and fresh! Our waiter was THE BEST! Loved talking to him! We will be back... as soon as possible!12/14/2012 12:00:00 AM
