Preserving tradition, Osteria is small and cozy with no fixed menu. The dishes and ingredients change daily and often vary during the day. Once inside, you will be transported to a historic place with its food, wine and atmosphere.

Our guests are guided through our history by one of our Italian servers. We look forward to providing you with personalized service of the highest quality.

Osterias were built as places to go, eat and trade. They became meeting places for all different social gatherings. Here on the island, were are nestled on a quiet corner of a very busy Avenue. The air of the city linked to a spirit of peace, makes L'Osteria simple, special and different.

  • "This restaurant is amazing. No fix menu means freshness and real homemade high class italian dishes. Lots of offerings to satisfy any desire. The presented us a good list of appetizers and wines to start of, then the offer for main dishes was amazing. We had a choice from 3 to 4 dishes of meats, pasta and fish each. We had a Mediterranean Sea Bass whole that was big enough for 2. It was wonderfully presented at the table. The chef came out and fillet the fish in front of our table and it was divine."

  • "I went to L'Osteria during PR Restaurant Week and I enjoyed every bite of my meal. The raviolli were awesome. Loved the peppery feel at the end of each bite. The pannacotta was had a light texture, not overwhelmingly sweet but definitely filling. I cleaned all 3 of my plates. And the wine was lovely. The ambience is very intimate, cozy, yet high quality all at once. Perfect for a special night out."

It is not good for large groups since it is a small restaurant. We all really enjoyed our dinners the evening we dined at L'Osteria. Pricey but worth it!!!"

  • "I book L'Osteria on Open Table as I wanted to make sure I had a plan for Valentines Day. When my wife and I arrived we were somewhat surprised to see the owner and chef outside waiting for us. He immediately made us feel at home. And once inside, we could tell that we were in for a special treat. Once again the chef went through the menu and explained that we could have 2 or 3 courses depending on how hungry we were. We ordered a crab meat appetizer and salad, then shared the Branzino for 2 people. Everything was simply amazing. The food, the service and of course the chef/owner who catered to all of our needs. As they say, you can't judge a book by its cover and this one is simply a restaurant you have to try."

  • "The food was mediocre at best. The chef owner gives a verbal menu with no prices mentioned leading to some shocking entries on the bill. How about a $60. appetizer which my with and I split. When we asked for our bill we were told it was being figured out by the owner which leads to the question- does he charge what he feels?"

  • "On an inconspicuous back street south of Loiza by the rushing expressway stands a calm oasis of Italian cooking. This was one of the most delicious meals we’ve had. For our first course we chose pumpkin soup, intensely hot and flavorful…plus the smoked thin slices of duck with fig. For the main courses, a rack of NZ lamb crusted with golden crumbs with very thin and large slices of perfectly sautéed potatoes and rosemary. My secondo was tiny medallions of tender pork, stuffed with either asparagus or with figs (more like cross sections than medallions). On the side was a mound of yellow creamed potato. For dessert, light and unfathomly delicious pannacotta with raspberry sauce. Coffee. Sublime! Some of the best food we’ve had."

  • "We were there 12/23. The reviews looked great. However, the food was hit and miss. the pastas were very good. The fish was not quite so and the rest should have been better. The chef did give very good advice on the wines, but the bill was > $125/pp (the wines were not a major cost). I am not against spending that much but there should be some relation to value."

  • "Seriously, it's the best restaurant in puerto rico. The wine list is really good and insanely reasonable: I always drink Barolos by Vietti when I'm there. The chef comes out of the kitchen, explains the food, answers questions, tastes wine with you, and cooks ridiculously good food. I've eaten in every 3 and 4 star italian in NYC, and L'Osteria is better than almost all of them. If this place were in NYC, it'd be three times the price. Can't wait to go back!"

Have to wait long time for the 1st course and was cold in the center (mushrooms troufle soufle). Service: Did anyone can ask if I want another drink? Seems some tables have better service than others (Newspapers Owners). In general the food was OK, not great for a 2 course dinner, 2 glass of wine (no desert). Pricey ticket."

  • "Quaint and romantic old house setting for a special occasion or casual quiet dinner. We love their concept of having a different menu every night based on the chef's daily fresh finds. All of the days's options sounded great. Our waiter Jacobo was the perfect host. You know your waiter knows his wine when he is he has the intial tasting before serving it. His suggestions for our food appetizers and main selections were perfect. The chef passed by our table to greet us and then again after dinner. I would add some soft playing cool latin jazz music to add to improve the ambiance."
