Lost Society - DCDate NightWent to Lost Society for a date prior to hitting Bohemian Caverns. Nice pairing. LS has an upscale look and feel but the prix fixe menu was pretty amazing. The food was delicious by contemporary standards. Didn't blow my mind with flavor but wasn't overwhelmingly rich like some high-end spots. The coffee was good, and the key lime pie was killer. Service was slow but very friendly. I think it was more the kitchen's fault than our specific server. I had the pork chop which was cooked nearly perfectly.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMVery chic restaurant! The food was really good and the waitress was very attentive. Very good experience.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly SurprisedI came here with a friend from out of town and read some reviews and we decided to try it out and we were pleasantly surprised. We thought the restaurant might turn into more of a vibrant bar scene later, but it didn't. We were a little disappointed about that, but we still had a great time!!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat date nightSecond time here and the food, service, and views were incredible again. Can't wait to come back.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMShrimp & Grits!I ordered the Pork Belly, Shrimp & Grits, and Nutella S'mores and everything was VERY good. Upon leaving I decided I would be back to try something else on the menu as everything sounded awesome. Definitely a cool place to go when on U street.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is solidly good. The food is solidly good. I had the bistro steak with brussel sprouts and a side of mac and cheese; my husband had the lamb. Our waiter was polite but could have been more attentive (I saw him doing shots at the bar). My biggest issue was the noise level. It was extremely hard to talk to each other. We were there late in the evening (8:45 pm reservation) but it was still too much. Next time I would ask for a table near the windows, hoping it would be a bit more intimate. This issue could probably be solved by turning the music in the dining room down a notch. It got better ever time a song ended and you could almost feel the crowd enjoying a few moments of yelling-free conversation.
Overall, an enjoyable evening despite the irritations.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is Amazing!!!Who would've ever thought a lounge on the corner of 14th & U Street would have such great food! When I first heard Lost Society was a steak house, I thought yeah right. I'd been there several times for HH and late night for various birthday parties but I'd never eaten there until a month ago.
We purchased a deal through one of the sites that included a bottle of wine, 2 apps, 2 entrees and a dessert. I honestly had no idea what to expect but everything we ate was delicious. So much so we went back again last weekend.
We esp liked the lobster quinoa, the kale salad, the sirloin steak with peppercorn (cooked medium) and the potatoes au gratin as a side, were some of my favorites. Only drawback is it's super loud but the food's worth it5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner, Drinks, A View of the city!I came with a group of 8 on a Saturday night, and we had a fantastic time and delicious meal! The cocktails were exciting, the wine was great and the dishes on the menu fit many different tastes, and all delivered great flavors. I had crab stuffed lobster and fried oysters and I will be back for the same dishes. A friend had steak and said it was cooked perfectly, everyone was pleased.
Lost Society is a great pick for a large group of friends, or a romatic date (there are booths with private curtains).
After dinner you can head upstairs and over look the entire city from the roof deck and listen to the DJ.
A great spot in DC!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed the meal and serviceEnjoyed the meal and service here very much. Would love to go back again.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMCame here on a date night.Came here on a date night. It was lovely. Really wonderful view of the sun setting out of the big glass windows. Nice ambiance. The service was very good. The food was fantastic. We highly recommend the Lobster Fried Quinoa appetizer, any of the steaks, and our waiter suggested the Bread Pudding dessert, which was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned really well.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night out overallI had a Living Social deal and for the price I paid to Living Social plus the tip and exras I got at the restaurant, this was a great buy! I would only hesitate to go back because of the entree prices. My boyfriend thought it strange too that at a Steak House, his steak didn't come with a side. I think his steak was $26 and a side would have been between $6 and 10 (I'm guessing), that combined is way more than he thought he'd pay at a traditional steak house and so in his estimation, if he wants steak, he'll go elsewhere. I would go again for appetizers, drinks and dessert. I had a delicious rootbeer braised short rib and the tuna tartare was divine. Our waiter was a pro and I would hope to get him again.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMReese was awesome! The rootbeerReese was awesome! The rootbeer short ribs and lobster quinoa was ahhhhmaaaazing!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!Great food! Great time. They brought shots over for my girlfriends birthday.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLost Society...Hidden Gem!!!Lost Society is a Hidden Gem. The Decorum and the Food are in a word EXCELLENT!!!
