  • "Great food and service! Great wine! A must place to visit in Los Olivos."

  • "We had a wonderful lunch outside with another couple. We shared the buratta starter and had a great Rose. My strawberry salad was excellent. The outside deck is beautiful with the branches and made it special"

  • "Our family enjoyed our evening here immensely. The food was outstanding and the service perfect, lovely ambience as well. The staff was warm and helpful. We highly recommend it."

  • "Very good food but somewhat indifferent service. The BBQ beef brisket sandwich and their pizzas are excellent -- the gluten free pizza is amongst the best we have had. Too bad the service doesn't match the food. Portions are quite large but are reasonably priced. I do recommend this place as there really aren't too many options in Los Olivos."

  • "We love the Wine Merchant. Our favorite dinner spot in the Santa Ynez area. Great wine selection. Fresh local food that is always delicious. We'll be back!"

  • "My husband and I went to Solvang for the weekend to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary we had a great experience at Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe! The food was sensational, we split the Artisan cheese plate for a starter, the fig pate and hard cheeses were out of this world. The entrees and wine did not disappoint especially the fish dish I had. We split a dessert, the S'mores sundae and it was one of my top 5 desserts ever!! Our server was soooo nice and knowledgeable and we could not help but leave her an excellent tip. I highly recommend Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe if you are in the Los Olivios area, we have eaten lunch there in the past and it was also excellent!"

  • "Everything was excellent. Our table was ready for us. The server was outstanding. The food was delicious. We are from Santa Barbara and it made a special outing for a special occasion. Thank you for the birthday dessert."

  • "We continue to go back to Los Olivos Wine Merchant & café. We normally sit at the bar. George is extremely attentive and is very knowledgeable. Food is always fresh and very good variety. The house owned winery offers some very good variatels and a nice wine flight as well."

  • "We planned a group trip to a few wineries that started with a picnic lunch at Fess, and ended with dinner at Los Olivos, and this restaurant was the perfect end to a marvelous day. The menu had enough range for our entire group, and the price was quite reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant - it doesn't look like much from the outside, but everything we had off the menu (and there was lots of sharing with our large group) was fantastic. The staff were great about accommodating our group - there were two large groups the evening we came, and ours was slightly smaller, so we were out in the main area of the restaurant (they have a private dining room). Highly recommend!"

  • "I've been to this restaurant twice in the past couple of weeks for a day trip to the wine country and then an evening of dinner and a show. Both occasions the food was fantastic, servers were friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was very relaxed. If you ever get the chance to try the chef's special, Garlic Trotulle - it's amazing!!"

  • "did the "sideways wine trail". this place still great after all these years. had the beets and burratta, salmon plate. and of course, glasses of wine."

  • "Oh wow this place was off the chain. Food incredible. The butternut squash caprese was the most delicious thing ive ever tasted. Had the baked brie and the lamb shank and the chicken. All perfectly cooked. Wine was fantastic. And really cool place to take a bottle home as well. Even though its also a restaurant prices are pretty fair. And our waitress was awesome. Very patient and super helpful. Recommend"

  • "We stopped in for a late lunch...staying at the owner's Los Alamos retreat (would highly recommend that too) and we both had salads and one tasting. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Loved the albacore salad and hubby had the spinach salad. We loved the bread....will definitely return. This was not our first time....we always eat at the café when visiting Los Olivos. We highly recommend this restaurant. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly and the food is consistently good!"

  • "We enjoyed our lunch and will certainly come back. The ambiance was charming in the center of Los Olivos. The wine of course was fabulous and we loved the portobello mushroom burger. Plus we shared my favorite dessert with my husband...the affogato!"

  • "We always go for lunch and a nice drive in the country. The food never fails to impress: Virtually everything is made in-house by people that really know what they are doing. Specialties include the olives, the tapenade and hummus, the pastas and the house-made sorbet (blackberry this time). I'm only giving four stars for the food because the ground ahi sandwich patty was low on flavor but the rest of the sandwich was outstanding. My wife's gnocchi was quite wonderful: beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. Prices are reasonable for this level of quality."

  • "I made a last minute reservation for a small group of friends to have brunch on a Friday. My reservation was confirmed almost immediately. The food was fantastic, the patio was wonderful especially on a warm March day! Had a great time, and the wine list was impressive."

  • "Located in Los Olivos. The perfect place to have dinner after visiting the surrounding wine tasting rooms. Relaxed and inviting for couples and groups alike."

  • "The only issue was with Open Table. I received an email confirmation of a reservation at Los Olivos Cafe BUT no mention of the date, time or number in our party. I had to call the restaurant to verify."

  • "Hidden gem in wine country! I love this places! We found it by accident about 15 years ago & love, love, love it! Had a field trip to Sacramento with my sons 4th grade class & decided to drive just so I could stop in Los Olivos to eat here! The house made ravioli's are excellent! If you get a chance to eat here, I would recommend it! Thanks for another wonderful dining experience!"

  • "Saturday night, packed restaurant, group of 10 with reservation. We had a short wait for table set-up, then seated with great service for our group. Group consensus that salads were average, fish was good, pastas had mixed reviews due to sauces heavier with salt than preferences, pizzas great, nice by the glass wine selections for the varied tastes of our group."

  • "This restraunt was all we hoped for. It has the best wine list we've seen at different prices and styles. We were greeted at door and mad e to feel welcome from the start. The acknowledged it was our anniversary. And made us feel special. The pizza and fish was some of the best we have ever tried. To our suprise the had a dessert with a candle delivered to our table. Top notch and would recommend for any special occasion."

  • "Came here for birthday with my husband and daughter. He had lamb shanks; she had chicken. I had salmon on a bed of lentils, pureed sweet potato and brussel sprouts. Divine! Great wine menu of course, and the chocolate Scream dessert was out of this world. Great staff, friendly ambience, wonderful food will keep us coming back."

  • "This is a special place! First, it is in the beautiful town of Los Olivos, on the main road; a pleasant street to stroll and stop in for some wine tastings. The staff were friendly and knowledgable. The menu offered many options. Our fish choices were beautifully presented and inventive, My salmon was accompanied by celeriac purée, lentils, roasted Brussels sprouts and butternut squash cubes. Delicious! A truly outstanding restaurant."

  • "My wife & I had dinner the night before Valentine's Day (less crowds) and had a wonderful dinner. If you are a party of two try to reserve the 2 top table around fireplace. Service and food was very good. We brought in our own wine ($20.00 corkage) but restaurant was a "great" wine list. We also bought a Zaca Mesa Black Bear Block which was terrific! Good idea to make reservations in advance if you want a specific table. If in Los Olivos will always have lunch or dinner at the Cafe."

  • "The restaurant and bar are great looking, but we weren't exactly blown away by the food. I would be willing to give it another try someday, but the waiter we had was not good. He got my boyfriend's order wrong--TWICE. I was done with my dinner by the time he finally received the correct order."

  • "Food was unusual, well prepared and in a very romantic setting (next to the fireplace). We asked for a table in a specific area on Open Table on-line reservations, and we think we had the best table in the restaurant for two!!"

  • "I have worked in the restaurant industry for almost 2 decades now and to have a Valentine's Day off for me is unheard of. However for some reason this year I got it off. We decided to head up to Los Olivos to pick up our wine club shipments and so I went scrambling to find a us a reservation for dinner. We had never been to The Los Olivos Cafe and Wine Merchant so we decided to try it. It lived up to its reputation. We were seated right away at the time of our reservation. Took a look at the menu and decided to go with the Valentine's Day special. Fantastic choice. Food was wonderful. Service was better than the food. We will be back."

  • "Food was incredible. Restaurant was packed but did not impede the service. Chef's menu for one of the biggest restaurant days of the year was amazing. We have been numerous times for lunch and dinner, never disappointed. Outstanding as usual. thank you"

  • "We sat in front of fire and listened to the guitar player. It was very enjoyable the food was excellent. My husband had the short ribs I had a delicious Caesar salad and wine. Great selection of wines! Karen our waitress was a sweetie!"

  • "Out of all the restaurants to choose from I chose this one after I had stopped in to purchase a hard to find wine from the area. There was just a wonderful feeling to the place. You can eat at the bar ( good got a single diner ) inside & out on the patio. The night we dined we chose the patio...perfect!! Great service , food, and weather and of course the wine!! Will definitely return."

  • "Overall service and quality of food was lacking. This is my second visit to this restaurant and it was very disappointing, I understand that is Restaurant week, but the quality of food should not be jeopardized. I will not visit this place again, steak was like a rubber shoe and wine was over priced... And when mentioned to the waiter, wow, it was like I was insulting him. Good luck living off the sideways draw that was 10 years ago!"

  • "Had not been to this restaurant in a long time. Went during restaurant week! It was excellent! Will try to visit more often!"

  • "We had a very enjoyable time here. We were a party of 6 and they set us up in a nice corner table in the back. I thought the waitress was very extra good & friendly. The food is always great but having a good crew always makes the meal more enjoyable."

  • "LO Cafe has good food with good variety. It's usually pretty busy which means for a lively and fun dining experience. The Butternut Squash Ravioli is amazing and I wish it was on their everyday menu."
