My husband and I both said that we can't recall ever remarking at the end of an evening at Lorenzo's that it was "Just okay." Every time we've been there with first-timers they have been impressed. Keep it up, Lorenzo's.
By the way, I'm not giving the maximum star levelsto anything anymore. I think we've gotten way too liberal in giving A+ grades and standing ovations. Lorezo's Trattoria is very flexible when it comes to dietary needs, too, which was quite helpful to the gluten-free member of our party.

We decided to have the Restaurant Week 3 course dinner. Two of us had the veal medallions; they were good, but cooked a little to much for me. The appetizer was great as was the desert. We had the featured Italian Red and it was also great.

Having been to Restaurant Week in other neighborhoods before we knew what to expect but there were so many menu options on the Restaurant Week menu, my dining companion didn't even bother opening the regular menu.
The salmon w/ spinach tortellini was amazingly delicious. The gnocchi is a little bland but can be spiced up with some Parmesan, salt and pepper.
The portions were perfectly-sized (not too small despite a 3-course meal) and I feel like we underpaid for this fantastic meal despite giving a generous tip. Was disappointed to see longtime favorite snapper dish has been replaced with a lesser fish. Waiter explained it was for cost reasons, but I'd have been willing to pay a little more for the original. Would like to see another salmon preparation option as well just for some additional variety. Went on a quiet night so very nice atmosphere. The food was very good and the portion size was amazing. My wife had the veal risotto and I had the Osso bucco. Both were fantastic. Really recommend trying this place if you are near the Hill in St Louis. Spoke with the manager and asked how they could serve this much food and he said next time you are out we want you to come here.
