We had an early dinner, therefore, our server was able to spend a lot of time with us. As the restaurant filled, she was more rushed, but still very helpful. We sat in a booth near the bar which might explain the noise level. The other half of the restaurant may be more quiet. We split a Caprese Classica and Carpaccio Classico. My husband ordered the Cannelloni All’ Osso Buco, and I ordered the Favorito!!!. Our server made the most of the food & wine [Cesari Amarone] recommendations. The food quality was outstanding, and the wine complemented the food. The person that removed plates and filled water glasses was impressively prompt.

Every dish was outstanding with a great wine list by the glass including a number of expensive wines offered at the small taste level to full glass. The food is fresh, inventive combinations, and excellently executed. Our appetizers, salads, and entrees provided one of the best dining experiences we have had in the past several years.

Food was very good, but there was only one server taking care of all tables. Obviously he was busy and could not pay attention to our table. We had to wait for long time to order. Our bread basket was empty for long time. My customer's wine glass was empty for long time. We were going to order dessert, but it took forever to give us dessert menu.

Over the past 20 years, we have chosen L'Opera for special occasions & have never been let down. Most recently, 7 of us were seated at a round table that was the perfect size for easy conversation. The service was perfect but not obtrusive and the young opera singer that sang for us twice, was talented & charming. But the best part of the evening was the food!! We all had a small appetizer of squash-stuffed tortellini that just melt in your mouth. They were divine. The main courses were also perfect and ample so to-go boxes were needed. Again, we shared several desserts that were divine. It was a perfect experience!

Our First time at L'Opera. We arrived 25 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. We had a good view of many of the patrons and the bar. The staff was very attentive and cordial. I can't remember our waiters name, but he was fantastic, and didn't correct my mispronunciation of the pasta meal I requested. The entire dinner was outstanding, and the Crème Brulee the very best I have tasted. We hope to return soon and bring a few friends.

I made reservations well in advance, plus i was required to give my VISA number to incur a $50 penalty if i cancelled less than 24 hours ahead of time! But NO ONE mentioned that the street would be completely blocked off --- we had to hike 3 long blocks to get to the restaurant. Annoying. Otherwise, our dining experience was as expected. L'Opera is noisy, and eventually it wears you down. The salads are fabulous. The cheese sampler appetizer is fabulous. Osso Bucco was good, but unfortunately smothered in tomato sauce. Desserts: we ordered the "Maria" and the daily cheesecake. They were both divine! The service is excellent. But the waiter kept touching my husband on the shoulder, and he did not like that......

I first went to L'Opera about 20 years ago and was amazed by the quality of italian food, and the great ambiance - located locally in Long Beach. I've been there about 4 more times since then and this past week I took the whole family and it was still amazing. The "Favorito" past (Tagliatelle with black truffles and crab) is my favorite. The Osso Buco is savory with lots of bone marrow to dig out for a treat at the end. The restaurant is elegant inside and the large windows looking out (and looking in) give glamour as well.

Had a wonderful meal before going to see the Nutcracker performance. Our very attentive server Mickey , after a warm and friendly greeting asked if we had a show to catch so immediately we relaxed, knowing we would be taken care of. When we asked, she gave excellent recommendations for both our entree ( the awesome Favorito) and dessert a pineapple pound cake which was wonderfully moist and full of flavor. Our cocktails were chilled to perfection. A wonderful, delicious meal with a terrific server Will return again and again

Many restaurants are looking to turn tables as quickly as possible. This is not the case with L'Opera. In fact if you are just there for a quick bite, please tell the server. Otherwise you may be wondering where your food is. The food is excellent, the wine list extensive, they have a miminal corkage fee and the staff is attentive without being overbearing. Be sure to valet, the fee is minimum and less expensive than the pay by the hour lot across the street. In general, the seating area is excellent and open. One this visit, we were seated in the far back of the place with a view of the wait station. I had to ask to be moved. Despite this minor issue, it was a great evening with friends.

Hi, We have dined several times at L'Opera with friends. We have had a consistently good experience. This time we tried the "Fall Dinner Menu" which was $35.00 and included a choice of salad or calamari, one of three or four main courses, and desert. The salads were very small-- but the fried calamari was delicious and a very generous serving. Among the four of us, we ordered the flatiron steak, salmon, and ravioli main courses. Everyone liked theirs . Flatiron steak was cooked just right, tasty and tender-- accompanied by Yukon mashed potatoes-- the salmon main courses were generous portions, and well prepared. By the way, my sister hosted a rehearsal dinner for her son's wedding at L'Opera and they did a great job. Martita
