Celebrating Over 23 Years of Award Winning Classic & Modern Italian Cuisine! Owners Terry Antonelli and Enzo DeMuro believe in a warm and elegant approach to fine dining. Chef Walter Cotta shops at local farmer's and produce markets throughout the week to insure the best quality ingredients. His menu includes a number of vegan and gluten free items that are sure to please all palates. Our pastas, raviolis, focaccia bread, sauces and desserts are homemade. All of our beef is certified Sterling Silver. For lunch, dinner or a private event, L'Opera is a must!

  • "We had a party of six for an early dinner. I just can't break away from your squash stuffed pasta in a butter sage sauce (there was some red sauce too). Tina was our server and she as always was terrific. So, I try to get there often, but you changed the recipe. The pasta was smaller and you added the red sauce. Please go back to the straight butter sage with the big tortellini! Thanks for all you do. All dinners were great. Thank you!"

  • "The food was toooo salty! I had the risotto and my son had ravioli with Alfredo sauce. Server was sooooo slow. The wine glasses were full of spots that server said they had no control over. It looked awful and they took them off the table. Such a disappointment."

Granted, it was early and the restaurant did full up quickly. All of their food, down to the pasta and desserts are made in-house. Being they are in long beach, they need an outdoor dining area! "

In 1994 I moved my business operation to Bakersfield, California from Wilmington. Just recently I was back in town doing some training seminars for Oxy Petroleum. One of my clients from Overland Park, Kansas was in town and I told him I would treat him to a very special place in Long Beach. You did not let me down after fifteen years of absence.   • "A busy Valentine's Day at the restaurant. Service was good and prompt and our server was more then excellent. However, both entries had to be sent back as both the Ravioli and Pennne we're undercooked...not even al dente. The second time around it was better, but the quality of the entrees seemed to be lacking. The highlight was the Tiramisu which was probably one of the best I've had in all the US. I'd come for a drink and desert but skip the entree, it's not worth it."

We sat in a booth near the bar which might explain the noise level. The other half of the restaurant may be more quiet. We split a Caprese Classica and Carpaccio Classico. My husband ordered the Cannelloni All’ Osso Buco, and I ordered the Favorito!!!. Our server made the most of the food & wine [Cesari Amarone] recommendations. The food quality was outstanding, and the wine complemented the food. The person that removed plates and filled water glasses was impressively prompt."
