  • "We saw Tim Love on Bravo a few years ago and when we moved to the Metroplex we were excited to try his place. We went to the Stockyards and gave it a try. We love that you can sample any appetizer as there is an awesome variety from lobster hush puppies, wild boar ribs to our favorite the elk sliders! This is the best bite of food you will ever have. Elk sausage, foie gras and a dab of blueberry jam...who knew???? We look forward to those every year as we always get a gift card for Christmas! Then there is the entree...we love the bison burger!! It is the meat, cheese and bun and needs no accessories!!! I have had the ham and cheese and the tenderloin sandwich but the burger rocks!! Burger prices are normal...13.00!! Try it! You'll love it!"

  • "The beef tenderloin and elk loin were very good. The lobster hushpuppy was very good. The rabbit-rattlesnake sausage first course was good. The sausage slice was very small and was over grilled(charred black), would not order again."

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. The food was over the top delicious. We would definitely return and recommend to others."

  • "We have eaten here several times, and I believe it is the best restaurant in Fort Worth. The menu has a nice variety of foods to chose from, with a definite Texas flair. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you have out of town guest."

  • "We hosted a business dinner at the Lonesome Dove for out of state vistors. Historical aspect of the area as well as the unique menu options were great for conversations. The food was wonderful!"

  • "We had dinner at the charming Lonesome Dove on a Saturday night, arriving early to have pre-dinner cocktails at the bar. The Jalapeno Cucumber Margaritas were fantastic. A great start to the evening. First Course: Blue Corn Lobster Hushpuppies. Impressive. Breading was crunchy and the lobster filling was delicate and flavorful. [Note: The complimentary bread delivered to the table was also great (loved the Jalapeno Cornbread).] Second Course: Farm Salad. A perfect combination of flavors. Main Courses: Grilled Quail (Thai Vinaigrette was fantastic!) and Roasted Garlic Stuffed Beef Tenderloin (Syrah demi-glace was perfect). Wine list was very nice. We were extremely pleased with our experience. Looking forward to returning soon!"

  • "The food was excellent, had the wild boar ribs, best pork ribs of any kind that I have ever had. Also the fried beets, try them before you judge, unbelievable. Everything was excellent, also patio out back, will try it next time."

  • "Food (Elk Loin) was cold. Waited over an hour for our entrees. Instead of redoing the dish, they stuck it under a heat lamp and tried to re-serve it cold again. Terrible!! This was our 5th and last visit to Lonesome Dove. The other 4 visits were excellent. It appears that Lonesome Dove has turned into a tourist restaurant with little attention to food quality. Too many excellent choices in Ft Worth to tolerate the nonsense that we experienced Saturday night."

  • "The restaurant is located in the Ft Worth stockyards, so parking is difficult. There is a valet right outside the restaurant, it costs $5. The restaurant was smaller than I expected, about 25 tables divided into 2 rooms. Lonesome Dove is basically a steakhouse with southwestern influences. The food was delicious, I loved the elk slider appetizer however my wife did not. We shared the wagyu tomahawk rib eye and added the fried beets. The steak and all sides were fantastic. Our server was A+, we will definitely return."

  • "If you're looking for some run-of-the-mill steak house, this isn't it. While the steaks are great, the things that Tim Love and his staff do with wild game is amazing. From the rattlesnake/rabbit sausage to the elk sliders, and beyond. Everything is delicious, and the staff is incredibly accomodating. Of course, all of this comes with a hefty price, but well worth it in my humble opinion."

  • "My wife and I have been going to Lonesome Dove since it first opened and the food and service has always been first rate. We started bringing my daughter when she was 16 and ever since she has requested this for her birthday dinner as she did again Saturday night. My wife ordered the lobster hushpuppies and they were about 80 percent lobster and really good. I got the foie gras and they were OK but not as good as the other appetizers we ordered like my daughter's rattlesnake sausage or her boyfriend's elk sliders. The standout entrée was the halibut which was delectable and the elk loin was great. I loved the melt in your mouth stuffed filet and my daughter's lamb loin was quite good. Overall the meal was memorable but pricey."

  • "Food was very modern (some too modern) and different, which is good thing. Our server was a bit indifferent. The Entree was good, appetizers I would recommend the Lobster fritter"

  • "When my husband and I travel we often try the great restaurants of this country. However, we have never tried a gem in our backyard. Tim Love's Lonesome Dove was everything it was suppose to be- wonderful atmosphere, superb service and food I will dream about for months. Definitely worth a trip to Ft. Worth!"

  • "We arrived very early (almost a half an hour) for our reservation, and sat at the bar to have drinks while we waited. The bar staff was fabulous, and it was fun just to watch them work! We were whisked away to our table very quickly, considering our off timing, and from there on out we were in good hands. The food and service was amazing, and the ambiance was perfect for the Stockyards area (and even engendered a lively debate about the taxidermy among the hunters at our table)! Thanks for a great evening. It was definitely worth the drive over from Dallas!"

  • "By far one of the best restaurants my husband & I have eaten at. I would consider ourselves foodies & everything was top notch & our waiter Christian is definitely on top of his game. No pun intended! The wild game menu was superb & thoughtfully constructed with finesse. Even if you don't think you like wild game, I promise you will love it. We started with Jalapeño Cucumber Margarita, a must try. Elk Sausage sliders w/Seared Foie Gras (yes duck liver). They should make a huge burger out of this & charge a gazillion dollars. It's incredible! Entree Rocky Mtn. Elk Loin, recommended by Christian, & did not disappoint, very tender. Can't say anything else, except we absolutely loved it. Thanks Lonesome Dove for a great experience."

  • "Inattentive service was a disappointment, server seemed preoccupied. The service was not bad but also not up to par for the establishment. Have been several times over the years and this is first minor glitch. Food was as always 5 star+."

  • "We enjoyed my husbands bday with another couple. The prices are steep but the food did not disappoint."

  • "My husband and I shared the first course which was 4 items; they were good. My husband ordered a 14 oz steak and mashed potatoes and I ordered a sweet potato stuffed chili rellino. We shared a desert. It was good but not any better than you would get anywhere else and it cost $120 for the meal. The food was not worth it for us."

  • "Wild boar and elk were among the highlights for us. There are few places you can get game in North Texas and fewer still that can prepare it to the standard Tim Love has set. There is a reason this restaurant is frequently featured in print and on TV."

  • "Food and atmosphere were wonderful. The tenderloin was the best I can remember - excellent evening in all respects. Highly recommend!"

  • "Took a very important client to dinner and could not have been more pleased. The client seemed a bit hesitant about menu due to wild game selections - he has a new favorite restaurant. The garlic stuffed filet for the main course and rabbit/rattle snack sausage and blue corn/lobster fritters are to die for...... Awesome place!"

  • "As always we had a great dining experience! The food, service, and selections were all great! Our only complaint - which is a minor one - is that there was no place to sit, even at the bar, while we waited for about 10 minutes. Not conducive to enjoying a cocktail while we waited."

  • "We had an incredible meal from start to finish!! We tried the appetizer combination first. Salads next. Tenderloin stuffed with garlic along with truffle mushrooms for dinner. Fantastic. "

  • "This place was rustic enough to feel like you're eating in the Stockyards, but a little nicer, so it didn't feel too rustic. I came with my mom and sister for lunch. The buffalo burger was amazing, and the lobster hush puppies were a great start. The atmosphere was nice with exposed brick walls and and old dark wood bar. I would definately come back."

  • "This is a great spot for both lunch or dinner. It had been quite a while since I was able to join the lunch crowd here, and it was fabulous. We took a friend for her birthday celebration as well as a new visitor. Both were so impressed with the wine menu, the food, the service overall. top notch for any occasion - but they are great for making the special occasions even more so."

  • "Loved it all. Tim Love knows what he is doing. The service was good and the food was hot and tasty. Spicy dishes had enough spice to have the flavor but not so much it took the enjoyment out of it by a burning mouth ."

  • "I brought my gf for her birthday. We started with drinks with Chris the bartender who was very kind and courteous. Knew every drink in the book and had great suggestions! We are seated right at our reservation and served by another Chris who recommended rattlesnake and beef medallions. Both were great!"

  • "Everything we ordered was fantastic! The Butter Lettuce, Applewood Smoked Bacon Lardoons, Spiced Pepitas, Chili Buttermilk Dressing. This was beyond incredible. We had the Striped Bass En Papillote, Fennel, Leek, Carrot, Yellow Squash, Chilies, Mint. Amazing. We also had the Beef Tenderloin Medallion, Herb and Truffle Croquettes, Broccolini, Syrah Demi-Glace. Our meal was spectacular. After our meal, we were not quite finished with our wine. We walked out to the courtyard. Let me just say. A little slice of Heaven. It was lovely, quiet, and romantic! Thank you, Mr. Love. "

  • "Being in Fort Worth for only 2nd time, I decided to try Tim Love's Lonesome Dove. The shining star of the evening was the service; my waiter was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the signature dish, Beef Tenderloin stuffed with Roasted Garlic. The beef was magnificent with a great char on the edges and the roasted garlic making the meat a garlicy masterpiece. I wasn't as pleased with the side dishes which all seemed to mix into a mess dominated by a wine sauce/marinade that wasn't good for my palate. For dessert, they served an ancho-chile chocolate cake with homemade vanilla ice cream. One of the best desserts I've ever had. Overall, with the great service and the excellent food, I had a very enjoyable night."

  • "I've eaten here several times for personal and business events. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is wonderful. Two things I would change. They recently changed the valet parking so that it is no longer free with your meal. Hmmm, I spent over $800 and had to pay for valet parking??? Come on Tim, pay the valet. The second thing is a bit picky. I never see the same wait staff. In the past month, I have eaten there 6 times and had a different waiter/waitress every time with different levels of service. Not sure what's happening here but I think it will impact business if it keeps up. "
