Diner Reviews
  • "The restaurant's ambience is great. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the kitchen mixed up my order and I was served the potato and vegetables while my steak was being cooked. By the time it was ready I was full and my husband had finished his dinner. We just took the steak home. It is still a nice place but make sure your server repeats your order back to you. They did give us a dessert to make up for it."

  • "Our group of 5 had a good cross section of meat and seafood. Each commented on the excellent preparation, presentation and taste. I had the filet, which was excellent, though rather small for $38.00. In general, the menu has gotten more expensive recently. But you can always expect very good food from an ever changing and improving menu."

  • "The chef at lone wolf creates nice, clean flavor combinations using local ingredients. Everything is prepared excellently and not over the top with fru fru that takes away or overpowers the fresh ingredients. Ribs are excellent!"

  • "Our server was great. We had one lady with us that has many allergies and she was accomodated very well"

  • "i was not expecting the outstanding experience, from start to finish, that we had at Lone Wolf. Our server helped my vegan companion select adaptable items from the menu, and I ordered scallops along with a garden salad and broccolini. "Heavenly" was the consensus as we dined in the lovely setting with a view of the foothills."

  • "We went to Lone Wolf for our 37th wedding anniversary. Our waitress was friendly, but, not very attentive. We ate at 5:30 PM so the restaurant was not busy. My wife ordered the butternut squash ravioli and I had the pot roast. Neither was very good. The ravioli had very little flavor and the pot roast was over cooked and dry. I ordered a Margarita for my wife and a glass of wine for me. The Margarita had very little alcohol and my glass of wine was served in a very small glass, and it was only half full. The wine was $7 and the Margarita was $9. It took and hour for us to be served and eat our dinner. For a very slow restaurant, we felt that was too long to eat."

  • "Online menu & actual restaurant menu totally different. Very disappointed that rack of lamb has been replaced. While the chef has the option of changing and/or replacing the food items, sometimes changes are not good. The atmosphere of the new location is too modern - the old location provided a better ambiance & intimacy. In our opinion, the music was way to loud and not really appropriate for dining."

  • "Good Morning, We enjoyed eating dinner at the Lone Wolf Saturday evening. There were 4 in our party, and all of us enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere. I plan on returning on April 18th with four friends for dinner before the concert."

  • "When you can go to dinner, be so pleased with EVERYTHING that your ONLY comment is that you thought having the bread wrapped in a paper product instead of a cloth, and that the music didn't seem appropriate for a fine dining restaurant...they did GOOD! Food was great, want to go back and try their steaks...service was great, etc etc! Please, you didn't like the paper on the bread...pretty "small potatoes" when compared with everything that was VERY GOOD!!! lol"

  • "We were thrilled. Quiet, very nice inside, wonderful view from our table. The food was more than we expected, it was all very good. Well worth the prices, very reasonable and beautiful plates of food. The pizza is a must try. The ribs were so good, we are looking forward to our next visit to try more on the menu. Thank you Lone Wolf. The improvements, and upgrades to the restaurant are lovely. We will be returning. The wait person was very good and made sure we had the best seat in the house, and took care of uwell. He did his job!!, well and treated us as he would want to be waited on. (in my opinion), this was very refreshing."

  • "I booked this dinner as a very special birthday dinner for my husband 1-31-2014 - I even noted in the special remarks that it was a special day. We were seated quickly, and order taken - nothing special. Waitress was less than inviting and seemed unhappy with her job, often leaving us unattended and not refilling drinks but once before the meal was brought. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon, while they cooked it to the requested amount the meat had been seared top & bottom and actually had a burnt charcoal flavor that wasnt pleasant at all, the sides were great and the chop salad and the Chicken Marsala was delicious. I was sadly disappointed that no effort of the staff was given to bring my husband a special dessert at least. 2 out 10."

  • "Lone Wolf Restaurant is one of Amador County's premier restaurants. It has become my go-to place for intimate celebrations and large group gatherings. The food is really good and my personal goal is to go back and try everything on the menu. So far I can highly recommend the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer and the wild mushroom pizza...divine! I have tried the cedar plank salmon and a special of the day sea bass and both were amazing. I also recommend the pastas. Be careful and don't eat too much because you have to save room for dessert. The chocolate decadence cake is superb and the chocolate mud pie was to die for. I'm going back soon with a large group and I can't wait to try something new. The waitstaff are terrific, too...GO!"

  • "Promptly seated. Greeted by server almost immediately. Offered complimentary wine. Fish taco appetizer was amazing. Steak was cooked exactly as requested. All the food was piping hot, no cold side dishes. Room was quiet and warm, no A/C vent freezing us out. Unique wall fireplace must be twelve feet long and can be enjoyed from most seating arrangements. This was a special dinner that exceeded our expectations and deserves the highest reccomendation."

  • "For our 50th anniversary we were at a loss for a nice place to celebrate the event. As there is a dearth of upscale restaurants here in the northern California foothills we were faced with few choices that did not involve a long drive. We opted for the Lone Wolf restaurant at Jackson Rancheria Casino. What a great choice! Overall ambiance was perfect for our occasion...classy but not stuffy. For our main courses, my wife opted for seared scallops and I opted for a New York strip steak. Both meals were excellent. The scallops were seared perfectly and my steak was cooked to the perfect temperature. The parmesan polenta accompanying my steak was the best I've ever had. Service was outstanding in every respect."

  • "Have dined at Lone Wolfe several times and each time the food has been superb, Service is wonderful. We dine a lot of nice places, but this has been the most consistent with Food and service. It is a little pricey in comparison, but worth it. We will be back."

  • "Food and service were excellent. I enjoyed my salmon and the vegetable medley was a nice surprise with turnips and brussel sprouts. I thought the wine list should have more of Amador County's wonderful local wineries. Don't rely on the menu posted on the internet as it is evidently not updated regularly. The price was more than I would be willing to pay for casual dining out on a regular basis but worth spending a little more for a special occasion. Any disappointments were minor and overall our dinners were awesome and the service very attentive. We enjoyed our evening and would recommend dining here."

  • "Beautiful ambiance, fabulous food and excellent service. I brought my mom for Christmas Eve dinner and we were both delighted with the experience. Neither of us drink, but they have what looks to be a wonderful wine list. What a wonderful way to spend the evening."

  • "The Lone Wolf is a great place for casual dining. The menu has a wide range of dishes appealing to most appetites and budgets. I ordered the cedar-plank salmon and enjoyed every bite of it. My friends and I shared a wild mushroom pizza for an appetizer...heavenly! We also shared a slice of decadence cake...so good. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The wait staff was helpful, friendly, but not intrusive. Our waiter, Billy, came by to check on us, but was never a pest. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual night out."

  • "The greeters, wait staff, bartenders were really great, excellent. Three of our party of four got the prime rib, we would choose another entree next time. The drinks we got were really wonderful. Our waitress was outstanding!"

  • "A variety of choices on the menu, everything from pizza to steak and fish. There was music in the lounge nearby but it did not disrupt the dining scene and was a nice place to transition after dinner. The food was very good and the service also good. Prices vary as much as the menu from inexpensive to expensive. The individual pizza would serve two people but there are plenty of fine dining choices on the menu. We would certainly go back."

  • "We were seated in your private dining room. The room is lovely. The music was to loud, but your waiter took care of it for us. I think the food presentation could be a little better, but all of us enjoyed our meals. The only complaint was the steak people said their meat wasn't hot."

  • "This was a "nice dining experience" not great, not memorable, not outstanding, but nice. The food was good, service was good, but didn't go beyond that. Lighting was a little too bright, seemed more like a coffee shop. I was hoping for more because my husband dislikes casinos and only took me there because it was my birthday..... I was hoping it would be better so he would want to return. We have other favorite restaurants in the area that we will choose over this one next time."

  • "Party of four; every item on the menu has a unique combination of flavors, and there's something for everyone's palate. Two of us had the trout resting on a bed of parsnip and potatoe rossoto, with grilled red peppers and mushrooms served with brocolinni with mornay sauce. Delicious!!! One had all vegetarian platter, and the other enjoyed Chricken marsala with mushrooms, pasta and the brocolinni. The spinach salad was served with warm bacon dressing, red onion and egg slices. Warm Rosemary bread with butter accompanied the meal. The meals were so packed with flavor, unbelievable!!! From the extensive wine list we chose E-Dalton Cab with is a local wine, smooth, a very nice wine. We'll come back again and again."
