Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant, which sits on some of the most beautiful real estate in the country, really phoned it in during our dinner there in early July 2014. Frankly, the prices for the seafood and steak are too expensive for the food to be this bland, under-cooked, and in the case of my father's meal, a petrale sole that was simply inedible. A reservation made 10 days in advance, requesting a window view was not honored. Instead, we were sandwiched between two giant family tables. If you are traveling to the Hyatt Incline during the summer months, please note that the restaurant will be filled with families. If you are looking for a romantic, quiet table, find another time of year to travel here. Our only bright spot: our lovely waitress."

  • "Took my wife there for our anniversary, service was slow at the start but the food and view made it worth it, bring a fat wallet, this place is expensive. check out the floating bar on the pier in front of the restaurant (pier 111)."

  • "I love Lone Eagle Grill, beautiful atmosphere great food, romantic and fun."

  • "Just another place that fronts as fine dining, but in reality is just another overpriced restaurant. For their prices, the menu could have been better thought out, better presented, or at least cooked correctly. 40 dollars for a small overcooked piece of salmon is pretty steep. I never eat at Applebee's, but it may have been a better choice that day. If you're going for the view, atmosphere, or bar, then you'll be fine. If you're going for the food, you'll likely be disappointed."

  • "no quiet table here but still fun place to go and food was great"

  • "If you are in a rush this is not the place for you. Dinner takes a full 2-3 hours but not to worry. The beautiful lake sunsets take your breath away and sipping a lovely cocktail or glass of wine while munching on some lovely artichoke soup only maximizes the experience. Dinner was outstanding with the Alaskan halibut Andy husband moaned in pleasure for every bite of his elk dish. Our wine guy picked a wonderful wine for us to share that went well with all our our tabel's dishes. Oh Lone Eagle Grill I've missed you so. Thank you for making it a truly memorable experience."

  • "Despite having reservations for over one month, we were treated like a cattle-call and given a seat with a limited lake view. I would happily secure the reservation with a credit card to ensure a lake view because this restaurant is ALL about the views. The noise in our area was deafening. Why parents insist on bringing multiple small children to an expensive dinner amazes me and I am a parent wanting a well-deserved relaxing adult night out. The food and service was very good. We have been dining here for 15 years, but the chaos now out-weighs the experience. We are sad, but will move onto other venues."

  • "Absolutely love this restaurant at Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side located in the Hyatt Resort Incline Village. The wait staff was absolutely knowledgeable of all things on the menu and the view was fantastic of the lake from the northern side. We will make it a point to hit this restaurant again when we're in Lake Tahoe."

  • "There was a live group playing in the bar whose music was so loud we couldn't hear one another speak in the dining room. The food is expensive and with the hectic atmosphere a person cannot appreciate the food. Even our waitress thought it was way too loud."

  • "One of the best dinners I've had. Great service, prime location and amazing food. Baked Tahoe was to die for."

  • "I have been there twice and both times the food and service were incredible. This last time I brought my 3 young girls and the staff was very accommodating. I will eat here every time I visit Tahoe. The lake view is incredible as well."

  • "Enjoyed a birthday lunch with Outstanding Service and Quality Food! Chef was kind enough to honor our request for Bison off the Dinner Menu. Austin, our server, provided outstanding attentive service. View of Lake Tahoe from Eagle's Nest was Outstanding. This restaurant rates a Five Star!"

  • "I brought my family from out of town for dinner, because I have always spoken so highly of this place, & they had never been here. They were all very impressed, & in awe of how beautiful this place is! The ambiance was spectacular as always, the service, supreme, the food, excellent! We all had a wonderful time enjoying each others company & our magnificent surroundings! After dinner, we headed to the beach & took some great family photos... Thank you again for giving us a special night to remember!"

  • "Went for "Fathers Day" with family, had been there before for there "Special" buffets and was very pleased but the F.D. lunch, not impressed. My steak was tuff and the noise level was such it was hard to visit with the family."

  • "We love going to the Lone Eagle Grille for birthday celebrations or any celebrations. Get there early and you are likely to get a coveted window seat or a cozy seat on the outdoor patio. Either way you have a magnificent view of the Lake. The Chef's preparation is always imaginative and not your run of the mill hotel restaurant cuisine. Tonight my petrale sole was a little on the dry side and thus the four stars. However, the risotto and kale were prepared to perfection... The bar is great place to watch the sun go down and enjoy their excellent cocktails.... Go for any occasion, it is sure to please!!"

  • "There has never been a time when we cannot say that the food, service and atmosphere is outstanding. We live in Sparks, NV, about an hour away from the establishment and always look forward to the trek, so we can enjoy and celebrate special occasions with each other, or with family/friends. Thank yo Lone Eagle Grille!"

  • "This was our third visit to the lone eagle grille in the past 4 years. The whole dining experience was as good as ever - great from appetizer thru to dessert and wine!"

  • "At outside on stunning porch and was greeted with food equal to the view. Came with a group and everyone was thrilled with the pick. Incredible fois gras on vanilla almond bread pudding to start, an incredible bison tenderloin, and sampling of creative and delicious desserts (try the Baked Tahoe) to finish. First rate service and ambiance from start to finish."

  • "Great view but had to argue to get it even with reservation but no one even in the two tables by the window facing lake so had to threaten to have manager come over and finally got seated after a fight. But food good"

  • "I made a specific request for a window seat at 7:30 and was told none available, however a couple was seated before us at a window that we're only having dessert. This was our 35th anniversary and I reserved on-line in advance. I understand all requests cannot be fulfilled, but it was quite apparent to me that there was no consideration to even try to grant the request. This was our first visit and was expecting a relaxed, personal experience. Screaming kids running around and a very loud private party close to our table were not in my expectations. We were moved to an outside table and had excellent service by Amanda."

  • "Knock your socks off location with views, ambience, romance & charm. To be fair - for carnivores, they probably love this place but for the health conscious, this is NOT a healthy place to eat. I struggled to find anything (even on their veg menu) that wasn't laden w/ fat & cheese. No gluten free/vegan options listed. I settled for the Mushroom Rigatoni thinking it would be reasonable. It was so dowsed in cream sauce and the pasta was so overcooked, it was like goo. Very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. I would encourage the chef to reinvent their veg menu to offer more healthy options. Any restaurant can offer a basic salad, but when we go out, we are looking for something innovative and different. Disappointing."

  • "The Lone Eagle never fails to disappoint as a restaurant to visit when visiting Lake Tahoe. The views are great being right on the lake and the ambiance providing a solid mountain experience. However be prepared to spend ample $$$$ for rather meager portions...and everything is a la carte. Could never afford to go there on a regular basis, but for special occasions the Lone Eagle Grill is hard to top."

  • "We came to the area on vacation and this was by far the best. The t-bone was excellent along with the crab stuffed salmon. I would recommend for an elegant dinner anytime! "

  • "From the moment we arrived to a busy restaurant who didn't make us wait for our reserved table, to the attentive service, excellent wine and wine service, delicious food, and beautiful view; to when we left, via the back door and went out back by the lake for a few minutes; we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning."

  • "Here's the thing! Last year we attended the Mothers Day Brunch and the food was knock-out delicious!!...Returning this year expecting the same, we were sadly disappointed with the food. 1) Cold food at almost all stations 2) dried out meats except the prime rib (excellent) 3) no pancakes !!! Just poorly cooked French toast 4) Omelets, were outstanding 5) Crab was tasteless 6) Champagne , very good as were the waiters. Won't be going there next year. Not what we expected at $70 per person + 18% tip."

  • "I hosted a dear friend for dinner at the Lone Eagle. Since we are both women, sometimes we have found that the servers from other restaurants tend to ignore two women. Not the case at the Lone Eagle ---- we had very attentive servers who anticipated our needs and were both professional and friendly. The food was excellent. I recommend splitting a salad and dessert since they are both large portions and half is just perfect. We had the lamb chops and they were done to perfection. Although I was disappointed that I had made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and asked for the Eagle's Nest, no tables were available there when we arrived. The staff took extra care to be sure we had a wonderful table by a fireplace with a lovely view. "

  • "The Lone Eagle Grille stands out as a masterpiece of culinary excellence and first class ambiance. Having recently relocated from the Caribbean to Lake Tahoe, I have been spoiled by world class chefs and ambiance extraordinaire. Dining at the Lone Eagle Grille exceeds even my spoiled expectations, with its mountain lodge decor, fabulous views of the deep blue water of Lake Tahoe, and delicious meals graciously presented. It simply doesn't get any better than this. "

  • "One expects beautiful surroundings from the warmth of the predominantly wood interior and the view of the Lake surrounded by snow-capped mountain ranges shrouded in clouds, however this evening's visit was dominated by the attention to detail of the wait staff. They conveyed a sense of being focused in their intent that our party would experience and enjoy great dinner. They genuinely accomplished their goal. Thank you."

  • "Of course besides the obvious of the incredible view and the wonderful Lodge feel, which is so Tahoe... I have several food allergy's when I explained to our server about them, he had the chef come out and speak with me and he was MORE than helpful, he even made some roasted potatoes especially for me....The food was outstanding as well for all at our table....When you're in Tahoe you NEED to go here for a wonderful evening."

  • "They automatically added 18% gratuity to our check for Easter Brunch...only the two of us, not a party of 6 or 8. Service was not good. I don't mind leaving a nice gratuity for full service dining or brunch, if we're attended to properly. The servers and bussers were constantly chatting and not tending to their patrons. The dining area was half full, no excuse. On one occasion, I didn't close my plate and went to briefly chat with a friend. When I returned to our table, my food was gone and replaced with a clean setting of silverware. Lone Eagle Grille bussers should know when a plate is closed or open. I was upset due to my fondness of the chuck end cut on a prime rib...and it was gone. "

  • "Even though I specifically asked for a window table the hostess sat us in the very back close to the kitchen away from everybody. The place was half full and there were plenty of better table. I don't think I need to ask for a better table since it was on my reservation request but I felt that the hostess judged us even though we were dressed and looked appropriately. The $70 per person and automatic 20% tip is not worth it overall. "

  • "My friend and I drove from Grass Valley for Easter brunch. I had been there for lunch several times but had never been to brunch. It was outstanding. The choices were amazing and every thing we had was special. It was amazing and we will certainly come for brunch again.Thank you! Kathy"

  • "A view of Lake Tahoe and snow-covered mountains, a great lunch, a good glass of wine, and a great lunch companion--just about the best! I had crab cakes with fries--large and crispy on the outside. My companion had sea bass on a bed of mashed potatoes and squash. We also enjoyed using the provided tablet to select our wine. Just a click on a particular bottle or glass would bring up a full description--very cool. The service was superb--very attentive without being hovering."
