London LenniesFantasticI have been going to London Lennies since it opened, then a small restaurant with a counter. The fish was excellent then and even better, if possible, now. Everything was more than excellent: the dumplings, swordfish (moist and sweet), the combination of broiled fish, the sole, and fried soft shelled crabs. Our waiter was perfect, attentive but not pushy, his suggestions were right on target. I must say it was a great experience. Food was really good and service was excellent. There was a great 3 course lunch special selection for $20 with excellent choices that I highly recommend. I look forward to attending Lennies for dinner in the near future as the wine selection was pretty extensive. Oysters are fresh and well prepared. My wife and I will frequently take our out-of-town visitors there because we can count on its quality and preparation. Their cole slaw is the best. This last visit my sister and her husband loved the food. If you go there and think the food is bad it is likely because you're in a bad mood. Our server was proficient and accomodating. The meal was excellent the tuna was cooked perfectly, the fried fish platter was crisp and fresh. Excellent service, including easy valet parking service, made this outer borough choice fit for foodies who just love their seafood. We had a reservation just to make sure because this place gets really packed (esp, on holidays) As always we had a great time. We had several appetizers from lump crab stack, fish tacos, calamaris, Maine Dutch style clams to arugula salad with goat cheese and two dozen raw clams. All delicious. For entrees, we had the linguini with white clams sause, the Florida grouper, the New Zealand mussells, lobsters, crab cakes and Lennie's Beefeater burger! oh yeah we also had room for desert. Try the fruit cobbler. did i mentioned that everything is good from the service to the food.
