Diner Reviews
  • "Nice interior, friendly staff and very casual dress permitted (shorts & tee shirts). Staff was very friendly but our waiter was a bit incompetent. I asked about a particular wine selection (our waiter said he could not answer ant questions about wine but did bring me a sample) and ordered an appitizer which never arrived (waiter said he forgot to enter it). I ordered chicken franchese but got chicken Marsella which was very good. Ordered Tartufo for desert which was very good however our waiter forgot to add it to the bill. Service although polite was the only drawback to our evening. Would give them another try."

  • "extremely long wait from appetiser to dinner. A recommended Fish ($35.00) was not good after some discussion they deducted it from the check. The Osso Buco though late was excellent. retired to the bar for dessert and coffee and after dinner drink. dessert was not offered after we got to the bar. The service was fractured and some of the reason was blamed on our server (Chad) who seemed too professional and not expediter for the kitchen. It is worth another try especially for the live music. Good Jazz."

  • "Our first dining experience while on vacation and we can't say enough about the welcoming atmosphere, amazing food and service. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted by the Dining Manager and a member of the Lombardo family. We were promptly seated and greeted by our waiter. The interior decor is modern and we loved the color changing pin lights over the bar. The chicken picata was excellent. The chicken was tender, tasty and generous in size. My dining partner ordered the lasagna and found it amazing. We definitely will be dining here again."

  • "We were looking for and italian rest in the area and decided to go here because of the open table reviews. We were not disappointed with the food or the service, hope to visit next time we come to Myrtle."

  • "We almost drove away when we saw the building but decided to give it a try. Once we entered the restaurant it took on a nice homey feel. The food was amazing! The service was amazing and we even made friends with the owners mother! Such a sweet lady and she goes around to make sure everyone is happy. Like I said, we got the whole home feel with family. So glad we did not judge a book by its cover."

  • "My wife and two children (5 and 7) had dinner one night while staying in myrtle beach. We chose it due to the reviews. Overall it was a good place. Decent kids menu, my wife enjoyed the chicken carbonara. I had the chicken parm and it was large however was overpowered with oregano. The waitress was a bit slow and didn't bring my wife her glass of wine. Bar was modern looking. Would probably try another place next time to compare others."

  • "I was able to make a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. The waiters wee friendly and attentive. The bread was fresh and hot with a nice garlicky seasoned olive oil dip. The dinner salad was fresh and crisp. The veal francaise and surf and turf were both excellent. I recommend this restaurant."

  • "Great place is an area filling with tourist traps and mediocre restaurant's. Highly Recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area."

  • "I have exclusively only used an American Express card for over 30 years. I am very careful to visit establishment that accept American Express. Lombardos listed on Open Table in Capital letters AMEX. It was especially embarrassing when handing the waiter the Amex card, he informed me that they do not accept Amex. I had to ask one of the invited parties for a credit card. This was on top of food quality of below of what was expected. The owner did apologize for the dinner and did take one off the check that was not edible, which happened to be the party that handed me the Visa card to pay the bill. We are from Myrtle and do not expect culinary excellence in this area. Lombardo's was below average on our visit."

  • "I had the snapper with roasted red pepper sauce. It was the best snapper I've had, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife had chicken fettuccine, very well done with a hint of white wine. We'll go back again, prices are reasonable too!"

  • "We obtained a last minute reservation on Father's day to Lombardo's and we were very pleased that we did. The food was plentiful, authentic and delicious. Service was outstanding and the owner stopped by twice to make sure everything was to our liking. This is a real gem among the wide choices of restaurants in Myrtle Beach. We will return soon!"

  • "Asked around for good Italian food and the three locals we asked all told us about Lombardo's. My wife had the Flounder special that was a very large portion and was excellent. I had the pork special that was awesome and the desserts were to die for. Mrs Lombardo's the mother of the owner came to the table several times and made us feel very welcome. Will surly return next time in the area."

  • "It was a busy night at the restaurant and they were not prepared for the crowds. Long waits for the food to arrive. One order was incorrect. The staff recovered nicely by taking a discount off the bill and provided a free dessert-thank you. The veal francese was excellent once it arrived. We will return because normally the restaurant is not too crowded and food is tasty. "

  • "This restaurant was recommended by local residents and I will pass this gem along to others also. They have a good selection on their menu. We got the maple pecan cream salmon ( a big local favorite, get it if you love salmon like I do ) and the fruita de mare and both came out promptly, hot, and good portions. Service was excellent too. While the fra diablo sauce almost has to go over pasta, I thought pasta with marinara sauce was a strange accompaniment to the creamy salmon. I would have liked to have had rice or potato or a vegetable on the side. Pasta sauce was good though. Desserts looked good but we were too full. They don't take American Express. We will be back next trip to try other entrees, hopefully soon."

  • "We were warmly greeted and seated. Our waiter, Timothy, was very knowledgeable and willing to make recommendations. Though I am younger, I especially loved the Bing Crosby era music played throughout the evening! Timothy brought warm, fresh bread that was served with olive oil infused with red pepper and garlic. We started with fried calamari with marinara sauce. I do not usually order soup and was very pleased with their creamed zucchini. The special that evening was pork shank which was beautifully presented. The +Chicken Rollatini, served with a side of spaghetti. Our meals were beautiful presented and I would have no problem recommending this restaurant. "

  • "We discovered this great find on Open Table and it did not disappoint. I see why it consistently gets such great reviews. The food is DELICIOUS & plentiful & the prices are very fair. The staff is great as well. The owner & his Mom made regular visits to our table on both occasions that we ate there. We loved it so much, we got my parents hooked and they went back again! They have live jazz music Saturday evenings, starting at 7pm, which is a nice touch. Some of the menu items we had that we LOVED were the caesar salad, the Lombardo's Laz (lasagna) and the Penne a la Vodka (best I've ever had!). Their desserts are very good as well and it is hard to say no to them once you've seen the dessert tray! Can't wait to go back next year!"

  • "Food was delicious and the service was just as good. The owner visited our table several times, which was a nice touch. Saturday evenings there is live music, just the right sound level to create nice background music. We had a loud table of 8 male golfers, so they were noisy, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault. Can't wait to dine here again. Truly a special place with special people."

  • "Our server was extremely helpful with information and suggestions since this was our first visit. We enjoyed our Chicken Francese and Chicken Piccata dishes very much. Our entrees came with a side of spaghetti and a salad. The very best part of the meal was the bread served with olive oil for dipping. I don't remember what was in the olive oil but it was truly yummy and unique in flavor. Somehow we found room for the caramel cheesecake and I'm glad we did...it was more than enough for two of us to share! Our friendly server included more of the olive oil for dipping in our doggy bag...the entrée portions were generous enough that we had some chicken and pasta to take home. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. "

  • "Our second visit, over 9 months...we are out of towners...raved about it to the family...in comparison to another well known family Italian restaurant. Brought them in and it was as wonderful as the first time. Personalized service....large menu with many options, great specials, extensive wine list...I had chicken and beef Marsala...as wonderful as the sauce was, an old shoe would have tasted great...but the meats were to perfection...cannoli's OMG....this place is the BOMB."

  • "Very Good Italian restaurant in an area with an abundance of Italian choices. Most diners appeared to be regulars. We were new and recognized as such and made feel welcome. Will definetly return!"

  • "Food was good. Service was good with one exception. The waiter asked our table to provide a good review on Trip Advisor so many times we finally did it to shut him up. Then we found out the owner gives waiters $5 for every good review posted. Really tacky and incredibly unprofessional. Makes me not want to go back again even though it's in my neighborhood and convenient. If you go, be prepared for the ambush!!"

  • "This place is close to our time share and we have been here 2 times in 2 years. Nicely decorated and service was very good. Cory was a pleasant waiter. Calamari was great. Salads were hearty with a good house dressing. Scampi was very tasty. Will return again this summer when we visit the area again. Wait staff all seemed to work together."

  • "As suggested previously, returning to Myrtle Beach and Lombardo's Restaurant would be a given. We were welcomed and seated immediately. This time we ordered the linguini with a white clam sauce and the chicken rollatini, both expertly prepared and presented, served with very generous portions."

  • "Food had way to much garlic for the average person. The atmosphere was much improved from our last visit. The waitress seemed to be all over w/ regard to table responsibilities so the attention level was lost as the meal progressed. Because of the long wait time between meal & viewing the dessert tray we left w/ just paying the bill."

  • "Great front of the house staff & wonderful service. Willing and able to help out with a food allergy. Unfortunately the food just was not very good. Salad and soup were fine, bread was okay as well. As for our main courses; one dish tasted only of vinegar, and the other tasted like not much of anything at all. An Italian restaurant should be able to cook pasta dishes without having them texturally resemble paste. We actually wanted to go into kitchen the and ask the chef if he/she has ever tasted anything was being served."

  • "My wife and I had Valentines reservations for 8 PM and we were seated within 15 minutes of that time and they were slammed with patrons. Food was superb and flavorful. Love the bread and olive oil dip. We had the chicken Marsala which was outstanding. Service was a bit slow but for Valentine's that's to be expected. Patrons were still coming in at 10 PM."
