Enter and be greeted by the warmth of the custom wood-fired grill, traditional hand-operated equipment, and rustic walls adorned with our thoughtfully curated wine collection. Reminiscent of an Old World bodega, neighbors and visitors alike gather throughout the day to share wine, small or large dishes, and a lot of congenial conversation.

Sit at the zinc bar, or cozy banquette, and savor an espresso from our vintage machine; linger over a leisurely lunch, or stay into the evening to sample our extensive menu which showcases the freshest ingredients. You can also enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail or explore our wine selection, with over 75 choices by the bottle and 15 by the glass.

very good place, we all liked it. When I was reviewing it I realized it was ridiculously (and inapprorpiately) expensive with small portions. 5 gnocchi for $9? 2 slices of cheese - I mean -2 x 2" - $5? Wines were slightly high - averaging 7-9$. But interesting menu with salumeria, cheeses, appetizers in pots, good bread, good wine list, good but small beer selection. Tastes were good to sensational - e.g. Asado boneless steak - desserts - some were good and some were 'eh (apple tart was terrific, Sm'ores, gelato OK but nothing great), olives were olives, some coffees were terrific, my espresso was very sour. Why did we like it? Unique approach & ambience, good food which could excel if portions were larger and prices a bit lower.

  • Bar Lola reborn?….

We have been big fans of Bar Lola, and were eager to try its reincarnation. Lolita is very different. More hip; with a long bar & small tables suited for drinks and small plates. Nice, but we missed the feeling of being catered to for a quiet, meandering meal; maybe because Guy & Stella were away. The vibe is more bar-like. The “pots” are treasures, and the lamb meatball dish extraordinary. We’ll be back soon.

Odd menu layout but hidden gems. The boiled peanuts were an interesting and fun special. My meal: grilled romaine lettuce salad and a pasta dish with sausage was outstanding. Drinks were unique and tasty. Prices very reasonable considering the quality. Special bonus to be able to make reservations on open table as the place is fairly small.

I hesitate to praise this place too highly because I want to be able to get a reservation but this is one of Portland's best restaurants. It has a great atmosphere and charming and engaged service. The food delicious. All well thought out and full of flavor. Interesting but not finicky. I am still thinking about the torchino I ate last time and wondering whether I will have the strength not to order it the next time so I can try one of their other dishes. In a city that is spoiled for choice of great places to eat, Lolita stands at the top.

We visited Lolita for the first time last week having been long time fans of Stell and Guy Hernandez's previous restaurant, Bar Lola. Lolita has all of the qualities that made Bar Lola so successful: unique and exquisite food beautifully presented in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu has so many wonderful options that we ordered 6 different items of various sizes including: a "pot" of anchovies with butter and a lovely sauce served with bread, a zuchinni spread - delightful, poached shrimp perfectly prepared and fire roasted quail-another wonderful dish. Judging by the buzz of the diners of all ages, Stella and Guy have created another wonderful dining experience on Munjoy Hill!

Neighborhood gem doesn't adequately describe this "gem" of a restaurant. It's new, in a lovely neighborhood at the east end of Congress, close to the Eastern Promenade. Food is great--each dish to be savored. A mix of plate sizes allows you to eat light--or not. Excellent wine list. And probably the most courteous and professional service we've seen anywhere.

Lolita is even better than its illustrious predecessor, Bar Lola, which is a HUGE compliment. The food is extremely well-prepared and well-conceived. Some new eateries feature unique combinations that simply don't taste very good, imaginative though they may be. Lolilta avoids this error while it serves up great ambience, low-key professional service, quiet environment and leisurely grazing through small and large dishes that pack an interesting variety of ingredients and flavors into a single meal of any size one is up for. A top-shelf wine list at middle-shelf prices is just one more ingredient in the sort of dining experience that is making Portland deservedly famous.

Just as good as Bar Lola's - and that is saying something! Inventive menu, well crafted cocktails, attentive service - outstanding. Even tho Lolitas is even smaller than Bar Lola and it was packed on the night we went (a Fri night), the noise level was surprisingly low and the seating was comfortable. Food was superb, from "snacks" to large plates to dessert - not a single misstep. Highly recommend. Need reservations, esp on weekends.

Our small plates were delicious and creative. Obvious care was given in choosing the ingredients and in the preparation. The cured meats were amazing. The wine list was also creative and reasonably priced. Our server was a gem - pleasant, knowledgeable and engaging. Will definitely return.
